I’d like to see a series of a fully equipped shelter with actual people living in it to see what type of things they forgot to store and needed and to see how long the food and water last. Kind of a prepper Big Brother series but with a family.

That’s a great idea! The first thing I’m noticing off the bat is that there is no oven. I would want at least a convection oven to bake, especially breads. A bread machine would be too limiting. I would also like the option of growing a few potted vegetable plants and fresh herbs, would make meals much more palatable long term!

More like personal greed. Fear sells, and a fool and their money are soon parted. The chances these bunkers would help anyone are exceedingly small….in a real nuclear winter, they would attest give people a year or two extra before slow starvation and radiation sickness. And that is IF you were home and fortunately in the bunker when the bombs hit…..if you at shopping 35 minutes away…it is all wasted - you won’t be home in time.
It is fine as a hobby, but these will never have a profit or benefit to anyone other than as an anxiety reducing measure and enriching those who sell them…they are a depreciating asset while others live their lives and put money into things that appreciate in value.

I really like the idea of the double bunker with a hidden access. I'd be extremely concerned about (whatever remains of) the government deciding to engage in 'legal' theft by declaring our stores "illegal hoarding" and then confiscating all of our supplies (to be used by them and their enforcers of course). A concealed second bunker would be the ideal place to store 'most' of your supplies. You'd want to keep just enough in your first bunker for them to think they had cleaned you out of your stores.

    Just a suggestion:
1.) Look at installing Murphy type beds than are dual function (dining table or couch with pull down bed behind or above.). You want to maximize space!
2.) Add a faux window with timer light cycle, so it is more home like.
3.) Change out those institutional light fixtures for one more residential looking.
4.) Consider pocket doors in place of barn doors.

The purchase and installation cost of a serious bunker would likely be significantly greater than the cost of a modest bungalow above ground. These bunkers are like RV's except they weight a hundreds of times more and won't move once placed. If I had to chose between a bunker or an RV in a National Emergency I'm picking the bunker. Costs about the same, but you will walk away from bunker after the disaster passes. Can't say that about an RV. Of course, the RV does makes a fancy Coffin. Just bury me with my boots on.... hell ya.
I saw another video on the Big Boy Bunker being placed in Oklahoma. Some excavation challenges when you have to dig a 50 foot x 20 foot x almost 20 feet deep hole. I'm sure the finished product met the customer's exact requirements. A handshake still means something in Texas.

You can shelter more people if the set-up is more like a dormitory or barracks or space station and less like a vacation home. I would like to see one of these made like a Japanese capsule hotel. No parents' bedroom, just individual, soundproof, sleeping capsules each equipped with lighting, temperature control, USB ports, electric outlets and a small TV. Most teenagers would prefer their own sleeping capsule so they could get away from their parents' scrutiny and spend their time listening to music and watching DVDs.
I would omit that space-consuming conventional kitchen and just have some storage units holding instant food, MREs and bottled beverages; a wall-mounted counter holding a small microwave, a rice cooker, a Berkey water filter, an electric tea kettle, disposable plates, bowls and eating utensils; and some trash bins below that counter would be good enough. Each person could prepare his or her instant meal at any time day or night. No one person would get stuck cooking scheduled family meals for everyone or washing a lot of dishes afterwards. If food rationing was needed, a week of instant meals could be distributed to each sleeping capsule and the rest of the food kept in a locked storage unit.
A few folding chairs and a couple of small wall-mounted tabletops could serve as a small dining area and could be quickly folded away when not needed. I would also like to see the addition of a second toilet and a second shower -- one bathroom for men and boys and one bathroom for women and girls to serve also as changing rooms. I would eliminate that sofa and large screen TV entertainment cabinet to make space for a treadmill, an exercise bike and some chin-up bars mounted overhead.

Just a suggestion. You should build under ground shooting ranges too.

hello ron question with the new teck.could solar power batteries help in say a disaster and could u build a out door pipe that can survive a nuclear damage for example: a nuclear weapons go off and ur in ur bunker and u wanna see what going on. outside; we know that out side air is toxic. but u want to see how bad it is out side. could u build a camera .in a pipe that can with stand a hit .
also I would make a storage in the generator room on wall that can hold a Tesla battiers and solar panels on that other side of room so that when the sun finally come out u can get Power to ur bunker

To the makers of Atlas bunkers. I have an idea to make staying in one of your bunkers long-term more tolerable. Make the inside look like a spaceship. You could even put in a fake cockpit with a curved video screen. You could run programs giving the illusion of moving through space . You could run your video surveillance of your above property from the cockpit as well as having games you can play giving the illusion of space combat. You could place small TV screens on walls to look like portholes with stars streaming by. Star Trek or Star wars ,pick your theme.

In theory anything could be done given enough money, but the cost of re-excavating, adding extra foundation and cleaning so another bunker can be added would be a lot more than just building the extra bunker space in the first place.

Wonder, Ron, if you ever copy rats or muskrats or other burrowing animals who have various levels and several exits and entrances? There's a TH-camr, Joseph carpenter, " the mink man" who uses minks, domesticated, tamed, to hunt rats. He uses dogs along with the minks, and even floods the tunnels. I think you could learn a lot from watching his videos.

Look good quality product. only thing that concerns me is outward opening doors. Easy to jam shut if you take a notion to. I understand why they are like that. Same with flat exit/ entrance just park car on top. Becomes a tomb. When my numbers come in I’ll ring you.

I'd like to contact you directly about a simple idea I have to help accommodate those who aren't too crazy about long term stays in these bunkers but know they need one anyways. Could be an add on package for your platinum series bunkers.

Maybe you guys could license your designs to other companies and provide training and periodic QC oversight. As much as I would like to buy one of these, I probably never will at these prices. There needs to be more volume of production and a streamlined production process to bring the prices down.
