For some reason I was kinda surprised when the character’s skin turned out ssuuuuuper pale. The first inverted challenge piece gave me the impression that she had a darker skin tone
can we take a moment to appreciate the editing in this video??? the transitions between the normal and inverted illustrations were so smooth and deliberate. clearly a lot of thought went into when and how to place them so it's the most entertaining for the viewer. amazing work, kasey! p.s. i think it goes without saying but the illustrations themselves are mind-blowing and now i wanna try the challenge myself haha
when you said the unicorn looked like a donkey, it made me think: why does a unicorn have to be a horse, why not a cousin of a horse (ie: zebra, donkey, okapi, or any other ungulates) that would be a fun challenge i think
The final illustrations are so freaking COOL! That is spectacular work. I can only imagine how hard it was to rewire your brain to configure the colors. I’m just...I don’t have the words to describe how amazed I am.
Being able draw inverted colour artwork without looking at reference is really awesome.... This looks so tough but you made it look soo easy. Also i would love to try it myself too......
when TH-camrs say "for those of you who have been around my channel for a while you know _______" it makes me feel like I'm a part of something lol so it was lol idk but i wanted to say this hahaha. anyway you inspire me and I love your videos keep it up :)
I love how when she switched between the normal view and the inverted one, she flipped a switched! Kasey Golden videos are always edited so well and artistically. From the chill music, to the aesthetic background and inclusion of different angles of the artwork.
Wow I've never been this early before! Kasey I just want to say that I love your style sooo much and you inspire me a lot to get better at art and improve my art channel 💗 I hope you know how much we appreciate you😁🥰
no matter how many inverted challenge videos I see, my brain can't process anything beyond the fact that black is white and blue is orange, so to see you not only create two separate pieces but keep the character colors the same in both and make them accurate to the colors you want them to be is mind blowing
Unicorns are actually supposed to be made from more than one animal: the body of a deer, head of a horse, tail of a lion and a horn (maybe from a narwhal?)
Oh my gosh! I LOVE this! Since starting my chemo treatment I’ve been binge watching your videos whilst in bed. I’m so addicted and my kids love to snuggle and watch along too sometimes- if you ever end up doing a children’s book they are more than keen! Thanks for all the wonderful stuff to watch :)
Wow!! This turned out so amazing! The POSCAS really gave a stunning effect. The idea of even attempting this hurts my brain. I feel like I’d have to take a picture and invert it every minute to make sure it’s going alright.
This has got to be one of the most creative videos I've seen! I love your little invert on/off switch, not to mention the amazing pieces you made. The lore of the fire witch and the unicorn is so good.
Kasey I’ve been watching ur channel for a while and your drawings have inspired me that now my own drawings are kinda similar to yours so I just wanted to say, thanks Kasey for inspiring me for my own type of drawing style😊🎨
I am so impressed with this! Your illustrations are always so detailed and whimsical, but MAN this was amazing. You honestly couldn't tell that they were inverted. I also love all the editing touches, too. Fantastic job!
I used to work in a photo studio at a university back when we did things with only a very pale red glow. It took a long time to get that reverse method to become second nature.
SO FREAKING COOL!!! I missed this challenge the first time around so this one blew me away. I love your creativity and your ability at storytelling in illustration. 🥰
This is insane!! Not gonna lie, this challenge is wicked hard, I'm not sure I can wrap my brain around it either. You did amazing, the transition from "normal" to inverted blew my mind. I think my jaw was hanging open for most of the video!
Wow this is so incredible! Seriously, this is my favorite video I have ever seen of an art painting process. I can't get over how cool this is. I really want to try this! Thank you so much for posting :D
Has it really been over two years since the previous challenge was inverted? Wow, I really didn't think it was that long ago. I really enjoyed seeing how your style has evolved over time, the characters for me feel more solid (could totally just be the medium tho).
Time flies so fast 😭 I remember when I first discovered kasey right before one of my middle school band concerts and her art calmed me down so much, I can’t believe I’ve been watching for 2 or 3 years, it’s insane
These inverted color challenges always remind me of watching Cartoon Network in inverted colors as a child. My parents didn't pay for it, so it was visible on the regular cable network in inverse. The DRM of the 90's! I learned color theory in practice from watching cartoons. xD
Cute! I am also getting serious Enchanted Forest Chronicles (Patricia Wrede) vibes, particularly book four- at least until the OCs became babies. There’s a scene early on in book 4 where Shiara, our friendly fire witch, meets a unicorn who desperately wants her to be his princess and braid its mane. The unicorn is upset because she’s not as polite/demure as he’d like when she refuses...because everyone is polite in the Enchanted Forest unless you WANT to be turned into a toad by a witch in disguise....and also princesses don’t have temper problems and obviously would love to pet such a beautiful unicorn! Thanks for the video!
You really knocked it out of the park, especially the second one, they are absolutely brilliant!
Thank you, that really means a lot!!

Aw, thank you so much!!!
i was thinking this too! it would need a bit more attention than normal editing.
She had to actually make the physical dial so she could create the transitions in the editing!
I know!!!! It looks so good
@@ernodios What do you mean editing. She really invented a switch that inverts the colours of the light in the room

Well, they aren't really horses, they're a mixture of a horse, deer and lion (with an horn of course)
Because horse are m a j e s t i c

I was so surprised every time when normal illustrations were inverted and looked absolutely naturally!!! :0
Ur picture is kinda disturbing but lowkey cool. :>
Kasey’s voice reminds me of a teacher I had in elementary and is so calming to me 😂💕
kasey has such a nice teacher vibe :o
Ikr?! Ngl she kind of looks like my kindergarten teacher but way younger-
Aww ❤️ I don't have any similar experience but I just find her voice calming anyway 😍❤️
It doesn't remind me of anyone but it's still extremely relaxing to listen to
I agree. She has a a very comforting voice in general, I think.

They do exist, you just have to look in the right places

Making the character a witch is so fitting because this is honestly some witchcraft 😮😮
