LOVE the video! We've got s bunch of them at our lease out by Del Rio so I've recently got into focusing on them. By far my favorite animal to hunt. Such a great challenge. Big congrats on the successful hunt!! Hoping I'll have a solid video of my own after this weekend.
I thought it was just a myth about the Rattle snakes not Rattling because of Natural selection in action meaning that the snakes that rattle get snagged in snake roundups, but you seem to have found what they call a silent Killer, Glad nobody got bit.
There seems to be an Inter-dimensional teleportation worm hole between Montana and Texas. Bear hunt to axis deer (semi live), weird Casey must have twin or something. LOL ;)
I listened to both episodes of the hunting collective podcast about this hunt and am just circling around to watch the video. Fun to have had the additional commentary in advance.
I've got to say this, the first shot is why I prefer a gun hunt. Get close enough to your target and and make sure you are confident that you can bring it down with one shot in order to make an ethical kill. I know it wasn't the intention of the bowman but I cant stand watching someone wound game, regardless of if it was just a "scratch". My personal opinion is you have to make sure you do the work at the range before you go out and do it at the hunt.
Why don't you ask one of the stars of tis vid Ben O'Brien himself? And then read his article in this month's Petersen's Hunting. You'll be able to draw your own conclusions, and then you'll know who is blowing smoke and who is not.
