Hearing the child-like babbling in the first two clips of the "Death Tape" with Jim just completely disregarding their lives brings me to actually tears. Those poor babies.
Listening to the full tapes is harrowing. You can hear the children screaming in pain while he talks, while he tells mothers to keep poisoning them, that it will be over soon. People stand up and thank him for delivering them, and you can hear his smile while he talks them into an awful death. No one died peacefully except for him. It's truly awful. The only reason I sat through every second was because of those babies. Someone needed to feel the horror of their deaths, because their parents didn't.

This took place in my country, Guyana and we Guyanese remember it as the 'Jim Jones Massacre' because he literally mass poisoned hundreds of people with Kool aid and shot those who tried to escape after seeing other victims collapse from consuming the liquid. Showed no mercy upon children either.
My parents bought up one of the cults repossessed properties; I grew up in the former red-light-district where the cults-sex-workers were kept: the whole town of Redwood-Valley California still has no appeal, the vibe still speaks of quiet misery.
the cult members that forced their children to drink that poison are serial killers to me too. I'm a single mom of 2 and it breaks my heart that the kids had to go through that R.I.P. beautiful angels.
I think not everyone was aware that this time it really was poison and not just another White Night Performance. One woman on the tapes tried to argue against killing the children, too, but her voice disappears halfway through. I assume she was forced to drink the poison as one of the first.
Thank you for your treatment of Jim Jones. In 1975 we had an adorable, but really stinky, cocker spaniel named Bear. That great little dog saved us from fully joining the Peoples Temple on Geary Blvd. in San Francisco. My mom was always searching for religion and took us to the Temple for a couple of weeks. During sermons I was in a playroom down stairs so I don’t remember ever actually seeing Jones. About a month later my mom started getting pressured into moving up to Jones compound in Ukiah. My mom actually thought about it for a while. But Bear wasn’t allowed to go with us. Thankfully my mom loved Bear more than Jim Jones so we didn’t go. A couple of years later when I was old enough to start reading, the cover of Time Magazines coverage of the Guyana Tragedy was the very first thing I read besides kindergarten books. I loved that dog. ps. Thanks for getting it right about the Flavor Aid. I’ve always been annoyed by the use of Drink the Kool-Aid.
I remember when I was in Bible class (christian school) and my Bible teacher told us we'd be doing something a little different. He told us that he wanted to make us aware of a cult so we could see the effects of manipulation tactics and how to look out for it. He showed us an hour long deep dive into this cult the first day and then had us do research and fill out worksheets on it the next day. It was the weirdest two days of Bible class I've ever been through...

Hearing you do your best to keep your voice from breaking was ripping at my heart. I was seven years old when this happened, and it was all the news would talk about. This was back when you only had 6 channels to choose from, so there was no avoiding it. Coming to fully understand it as I got older, a deep distrust of any form of preaching either religious or political was burned into my soul. Great job on the video, Kris.
I used to watch this show called Escaping Polygamy. It was about a cult in Utah that veered off from my church called The Order. I think it is important for someone as famous as you to bring light to the fact that there are still people who are suffering from cults. Who are forced to do things they don't want to. Even still inside the US. Thank you for your entertainment and thank you for spreading the word and truth about these sad situations.
I have listened to the entire recording and I honestly do not recommend it. It is very hard to comprehend the fact that it is real. That those are voices of people who were forced to poison themselves and their children or be shot. It is genuinely heartbreaking.

I used to be part of the 2x2 religion. It had a very toxic culture. SA and CSA cases were hidden and disregarded, while the perpetrators were protected. Much of the leadership was involved in the covering up of these crimes. I still have family members in the cult. I feel that I know so little about this church, even though I was a member since birth. It would mean very much to me if you covered this cult in a future video Kris! 💖
This is exactly what led me to learning about personality psychology. It turns out that there are a lot of people out there who experience reality in completely different ways than you do! Some of them have very little care for other people's feelings. Just that simple.
Btw, this is why men think about strangers the way they do. You can also see this behavior in medieval European society. Small towns didn't like new people. New people brought potential distrustful behavior and lethal disease. Humans, at least Europeans, reduce stress via exclusion. Why do wealthy people live in isolated houses with guards and walls? Exclusion. Why do upper middle class people live in gated communities? Exclusion. Exclusion is how people reduce stress.

I watched a true crime story that happened here. It was about a little girl who came to Jonestown and didn’t like what Jim was doing. The girl ended up lost in the woods with other kids after running away from the shooters in the second plane. Her mom had been shot and died as well as her brother. The girl, her sister and the other kids were lost in the woods for a few days until a plane/helicopter found them. I work at a prison and I recently had someone ask about a fellow incarcerated person that had been a troubled teen, and it was in one of Jim Jones youth camps in Northern California, but his parents wouldn’t let him go to Jonestown, which definitely saved his life, though he seems to have had survivors guilt, and remains incarcerated.
Thanks for the upload Kris, I know your busy but since you started uploading true crime deep dives I’ve been a little obsessed with it, being a huge true crime girly, and for some reason listening to you talk about it is weirdly calming while I’m out truck driving across the country so I look forward to these ( and any other video you post) but there is something about true crime anything that just makes the synapses in my brain all happy to listen to, so I appreciate when you post them.
Kris you are 100% never going to see this, but i live in Connersville (abt 45 minutes from Richmond) and i was so excited seeing the title of this bc no one ever talks about this man. If you ever could, you should do a dive on the case of Denise Pflum. She went missing in 1986 and has been a cold case. No one has ever found her
I remember one day, my dad was talking about "don't drink the kool-aid" when my brither had brought up church, I had done a little research and eventually forgot. When watching this video, hearing about the flavour-aid had brought a small sense of horror to me. I do not trust people easily, these make it worse. But best be safe then sorry.
This whole case is just so heartbreaking and sad. Also, am i the only one wgo thought towards the end kris sounded genuinely sad or on the verge of tears?
I was in junior high when this happened. The libraries kept the news magazines behind their desk. Your parents had to give permission for you to see them. I cringe every time someone says ‘ drink the kool aid’.
Idk if she’s religious but I really love how she respects every religion. Like you know how sometimes these podcasts tend to mock Christianity every time some radical wrong image of religion is talked about. So I‘m really glad she’s just sticking to the facts and never let a opinion about religion shine trough. Thank you kris you’re the best ❤

The craziest thing I learned is that many many years ago, my grandma taught Portuguese (Brazil) lessons. A friend of her’s asked her if she could teach this guy to which my grandma agreed, but as soon as this guy she was gonna teach walked into the room she immediately felt bad vibes from this guy. That guy was Jim Jones, before he became the cult leader. Even before he began his evil deeds my grandma knew in her soul that this dude was bad news and should stay away from him. After the lesson she told her friend that she doesn’t want to teach him anymore. We never knew about this till a little over a year after she passed away that my grandpa told us about it. It still sends shivers down my spin just thinking about it

Bravo my fellow Canadian. And l am especially grateful for you bringing attention to missing and murdered indigenous women though your deep dive into that evil pos Robert Pickton. You are amazing. For your next true crime deep dive , could you cover the story of josef fritzl and the heinous things he did to his daughter? I love your videos and watch them very often. I would love if you covered the story, because it was basically my entrance to my true crime fascination. ❤ once again, i love your vids! ❤❤

“You sick beautiful freak” HOWED YOU KNOW 😂
Edit: not tryna be that person but MOM IM FAMOUS
Right? I have literally never felt so seen.
It’s true😊
You're welcome, I made the satisfying like number!
@@YourSaltySailorI made the likes 300 💅
Yuhs
Kris you are 100% never going to see this, but i live in Connersville (abt 45 minutes from Richmond) and i was so excited seeing the title of this bc no one ever talks about this man. If you ever could, you should do a dive on the case of Denise Pflum. She went missing in 1986 and has been a cold case. No one has ever found her
They’re in like the top 3 most famous and talked about cults, I haven’t heard of the other case though, I’m sure that is interesting!
“Sick little beautiful freak” absolutely made my day ☺️😭❤️
1:57 That package art is fantastic. It's like the animals are addicts and sour boys are their ccrraacckk.
I hope we get a video on the Black Dahlia at some point. Thank you for covering this cult!
I appreciate you spreading awareness about these repugnent individuals you are teaching and protecting your viewers you are so amazing and beautiful
The serotonin I get when Kris says “CRIME” at the start of the vid😩❤️
This whole case is just so heartbreaking and sad. Also, am i the only one wgo thought towards the end kris sounded genuinely sad or on the verge of tears?
I was in junior high when this happened.
The libraries kept the news magazines behind their desk. Your parents had to give permission for you to see them.
I cringe every time someone says ‘ drink the kool aid’.
I always hear "don't drink the kool-aid" in reference to not being a sheep and following cult mentality
watching u grow for now 3-ish years is so wild to me ily
Idk if she’s religious but I really love how she respects every religion. Like you know how sometimes these podcasts tend to mock Christianity every time some radical wrong image of religion is talked about. So I‘m really glad she’s just sticking to the facts and never let a opinion about religion shine trough.
Thank you kris you’re the best ❤

Adorably delivered 🤗
100% True
Why does everyone get it wrong it wasn't Kool-Aid it was Flavor -Aid.
This isn’t just a serial killer cult leader stew this is a whole damn feast!
HOW DID I JUST DISCOVER THAT KRIS HAS THIS KIND OF CONTENT?! I FREAKING LOVE THIS!
Me to 24:54
Me, just finished cooking lunch: "Oooh new Kris documentary on Jonestown, hell yeah!"
Thank you Kris for this meal I am about to enjoy.
Lmao same i was cooking dinner when i seen this😂
I have never heard of this cult. Thanks Kris for telling me about them
I love how Kris relates to me so much she's helped me through lots
I’m so happy Kris posted🩵
Also Caleb looks like the grinch when he does his face lmao not in a mean way also ur hair is gorgeous Kris love ya 🩵🩵
It is literally the grinch face lol
I love when Kris post these type of videos 🐐
This and the events in Waco, Texas shock me every time I hear them. Waco and David Koresh could be a good addition to this series, Kris!
Oh, yes just thought about this.
I went to the site in 2014, and it was indeed freaky. Bleh.
“Let’s bust through this windshield into this cult together 🥰”
Didn’t think I would hear that today
It still sends shivers down my spin just thinking about it
for real the first time i read about this cult i got invested and as a kid re-read all the pages over an over to the point i could directly quote stuff from it, cool vid as always! luv u Kris!
These are my favorite type of videos kris makes...also 1 year of watching her this month!
Could you possibly do an episode on the Chowchilla kids? My apologies if I spelt that wrong, but it’s a really interesting case that I’d LOVE to see you maybe talk about ❤️
When I hear those tapes and can hear those children in the background…I pray for a hell unlike no other.
I was just watching your uncaught serial killers video this morning! Love these types of videos ❤
the ponytail is so flattering on you!! 🤩🤩
It’s funny bc I have just been getting into the Jonestown cult and it just interests me on how this man got all these people to follow him and how he wasn’t stopped earlier.
Yes just like the Maga cult
Why u in
YAY I’ve been waiting for a Kris’ History Class About Murderers video!
Your deep dives are incredible. I don't know if I'm morbid but crime documentary is a thing for me. I've learned so much beyond everything in anything I've watched from your deep dives. Bravo my fellow Canadian.
And l am especially grateful for you bringing attention to missing and murdered indigenous women though your deep dive into that evil pos Robert Pickton.
You are amazing. Much love to you.
These deep dives are truly done so well!! Amazingly researched, brilliantly told while still having compassion for the victims and and not glorifying this evil man.
For your next true crime deep dive , could you cover the story of josef fritzl and the heinous things he did to his daughter? I love your videos and watch them very often. I would love if you covered the story, because it was basically my entrance to my true crime fascination. ❤ once again, i love your vids! ❤❤
I can deal with peoples deaths, but animals?! My heart shatters..
Literally eating "Little guys" while watching this. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE THEM! THEY ARE SO GOOD! I love the fruity flavors and the sourness of them as well. You guys did great on them! ❤
Are they actually good? I kinda want to get some?
@@forestwizzardd I'd definitely suggest them!
It's about time!! I'm from Guyana and I'll be honest, the younger generations does not know this story beyond the fact that it happened. Looking forward to finishing this video.
Just bought sour boys candy and I am so impressed with the ingredients! We love the fact that there are no artificial dyes, that we even gave a small piece to our toddler and she also loved it. So thank you for making a healthy candy!
Fantastic Kris. It doesn't even matter how many times I hear these stories you do such a great job with these exposes I'm always excited to listen and usually hear some new info.
“Crime, conspiracy, serial killers, and murder all good things that I love to consume and I know you do too”

Man, me and my dad were talking about this the other day because I was actually going to use this man as an example for a discussion in my sociology class
Okay, can we talk about how she can put on a tshirt and put her hair in a ponytail and still look absolutely gorgeous. Like, HOW!! I LOOK HOMELESS WHEN I DRESS LIKE THAT!! 😭(Love ur vids
The intro is always the best part.
I love the purple neon sign. I've been listening to your shows for a few weeks now and today it doned on me that it is KMK. I had thought it said KINK, and that was just awesome as a back ground!!!! Love your shows by the way, I've seen LOTS of true crime videos, but I always learn something new with your shows!!!🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉
I’ve been waiting forEVER for a new crime vid! Love you Kris!
YIPPEE THE QUEEN HAS POSTED SOME TRUE CRIME YIPPEEEEEE
25:50 you said Georgetown and i was like " HOLD UP WHAT?" (i live 10 minutes away from Georgetown area and like austin, leander and ceader park and all that.
I got this notification while running my cult in the cult of the lamb, the worst part is i just sacrificed my cat character and held a funeral for him.... RIP beefaroni. Love your content kris
“it really does take a village.. to raise ..a ✨Cult Leader✨”
You should do a deep dive of the Junko Furuta case(its lowkey disturbing )
Fun fact: The band Cultz, sampled the Jim Jones tapes. For their song Bad Things. This song later gained recognition after Jermaine Lamar Cole (I.A J. Cole) sampled the song she knows. That’s why if you listen closely to the song you can hear screams on it which is to raise awareness about the Jonestown Massacre.
The pain in Kris' voice and the amount of deaths just reminds me how horrific and inhuman this man was
Auntie Kris... You are my fav TH-camr of all time I've watched you since the beginning! ❤
UwU senpai!!! Same I was her 5th sub
I love your videos and how you go deep into depth with your documentaries. ❤
Kris needs to start a podcast about this kinda stuff
Loved your hairstyle in this one 😊
"you sick little beautiful freak" she described me perfectly c:
I never knew there was so much behind this, thank you and please make more of these type videos, we love themm and hopefully you do too!!! 💗
I've heard about Jim so many times but I'll always support a good cult video. Hope you're enjoying Texas ❤ don't melt
