feel like since scrapyard is a bunch of tracks that dont fit too well together it does throw me off a tad, while IDMTHY is so well thought just gives it the edge.

I have been a Quadeca fan since voice memos and to see him get a yellow flannel made me tear up 🥲 I feel like a proud father watching his kid achieve his dreams
I've been following Quadeca since long before that said good things about my tastes. I remember being consumed by the "TH-cam rapper" community in high school, and Ben was always one of my favorites. I remember when Voice Memos came out and it was my favorite album for a long time afterwards. He released FMTY in a year I was evolving my music tastes significantly, as well as feeling some of the most intense loneliness and isolation I've ever felt. Right when i though I was gonna drop him with the other yt rappers, I fell in love with his music even more. It makes me really happy to see this evolution from Ben, as well as such a positive review from someone he respects so much. Keep killing it Quad

this is so cathartic and entirely deserved. the mixtape, even with some sparse low points, has higher highs than records from any of quad's contemporaries and even many high profile releases in the past few years. for a project of loosies, it genuinely blows me away to see him still growing and improving in every aspect. he's gonna get some flack for the guide dog take. my personal favorite (probably) and i know a lot of people feel the same way. easily the simplest sounding song on the project in terms of production, but the lyrics and vocals are so profound, sad and really dense. haunting in the most beautiful way. i can understand why it would seem underdeveloped in the context of the ep if he just gave the project a once over because it's so much more "singer songwritery" than the rest of the project but the production is effectively perfect in the context of the tone and lyrics. would prefer it be a little longer maybe but i don't really know where else the song could've gone

The shoegaze crossover and cinematic style is right out of the school of Tonedeff's Polymer album of 2016. Im all for more genre hopping. My guy Tone paving the way.

As an artist, Quad is in a unique spot where there is a lot more of him out there than his music. He doesn’t have the mystique of a lot of other musicians where you really only see them through music and that is a highly stylized lens to look at anything through, you can see him in a rawer form too.
I'm not gonna pretend to be a Quadeca day 1 fan. I used to think he was a cringy TH-cam rapper that made occasional bangers, until he dropped IDMTHY. Ever since, I've been waiting on his next project, and holy heck man, I'm super impressed with Scrapyard. I've had these new songs on loop ever since it dropped. This new sound is seriously so addicting. I know he's been looking for Fantano's approval for a while now. I'm really happy he got a light 9 on this amazing work of art. Can't wait to see what he puts out next. Quad did, indeed.

Ever since, I've been waiting on his next project, and holy heck man, I'm super impressed with Scrapyard. I've had these new songs on loop ever since it dropped. This new sound is seriously so addicting. I know he's been looking for Fantano's approval for a while now. I'm really happy he got a light 9 on this amazing work of art. Can't wait to see what he puts out next. Quad did, indeed.

Guide Dog as your least favorite is an actual crime, but I'll forgive you because the review was so good. I really liked the part when you said the album was a "once in a quadrillion experience", and then clapped your hands excitedly for ten minutes.
