    I've got that trail tech stand on my 450 exc but only cus my metal tabs snapped off. The standard stand is adjustable tho, you can adjust how much you want it to lean the bike over you just adjust the arm on the stand 👍🏻 I actually preferred the standard stand to the overly priced trail tech one as there's no adjustment on it and it stands mine up almost vertical

      @Ianysm  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      On the older model there is no adjustment. The swivel mount wears out and causes the bike to lean further and further. The trailtech was a much better design. Expensive but worth it for hassle free standing!

      @@Ianysm on my 04 450 exc you could alter the pivot arm to where u want it and tighten it up so it'd stop the stand at the lean angle you wanted. My 525 06 I think is the same too so unless it's different on the 250s 🤷🏻‍♂️

    hey, i loved you review. i live in brazil, that means KTMs are a luxury. to find one with a tittle its a miracle. most are just off-road and they cost a kidney here. but i did find one 450exc 2010 and a 250 excf 2011. i thought the 250 would be ok for b roads , riding around town and occasional weekend dirt. you said with the 250 one might miss the power to get out of corners and all. after you learn to rev it can that make up for the lack of torque? i was really surprised they way you rode it with knobby tires on asphalt! i thought this was really frowned upon !

    • @Ianysm
      @Ianysm  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Ee .e Thanks for the comments. In the dry they handle remarkably well on asphalt with knobblies. In the wet they aren't so good so I am more careful. Yes they go well when revved but that makes it more tiring on the roads. Also gearing needs to be lower for off road riding to hekp lift front wheels over obstacles, which makes it rev higher on road. It's all compromise I guess. For tricky off road the 250 is great as it's so light and says to ride, if you do lighter off road and A roads you might be better going bigger

    Where did you get the fan kit. I ride in California and. Mexico. The hot summer weather and my technical trail choices require a little extra cooling.

    Have you changed any engine parts? Piston, bearings ect. If yes, how often? Great video!

    • @Ianysm
      @Ianysm  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Nope never, not necessary on a 4 stroke used for green laning. Maybe on a race bike its required more often?

    Great vid. Just wondered what you have changed jets to? I have changed from 172 and went down to 168 main. Pilot from 42 down to 40. Mine used so much petrol with stock jetting. A full tank in less then 2 hours of road riding. Not had a chance to ride since re-jetting but hoping to get some more mpg. What's petrol like for you?

    • @Ianysm
      @Ianysm  6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Hey thanks. That's a good question I can't remember the settings I used. I found them on the ktm forum. Definitely better with them but it's still a 250 with a large carb so takes some waking up before it goes. I miss the low down torque of the 450 but the 250 is so Mich more nimble and easier to ride. It's all a compromise

    What year model is it? Where did you find fron fork guard plastics? Does it have radiator fan on the stock bike or was it added preferably?

    • @Ianysm
      @Ianysm  3 ปีที่แล้ว

      I only run it on reserve so range is extended and it doesn't run out at 50 miles. I keep an eye on the miles knowing it will do about 70 before empty

      Callum Mcpherson hi they're not too comfy on long journeys. I'd say that would be a tiring day off roading and riding there and back. I take it on a trailer or van nearer to where I plan to ride. I also use padded shorts!!

    • @automap3899

      Crosshairs hi they are about 25 horsepower 20NM torque

    • @jakc7519

      Auto map wow I was expecting a bit higher considering the 350 has 45hp

    • @automap3899
      @automap3899 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Crosshairs it depends where you're riding as it's not all aboit the numbers. The 250 is light and not intimidating with it's power where the 350 can be. I had a 450 that was way quicker but heavier and harder ride ride off road. I'd quite like a 350 next.

    • @jakc7519
      @jakc7519 6 ปีที่แล้ว

      Auto map Yup, I haven’t read up on the 450 yet and im not sure how heavy it is or what the horsepower/torque is. The 350 weighs 237 pounds dry only 5 pounds heavier than the 250 and its got 20 more horsepower so thats my choice. Though unfortunately since I live in canada they don’t sell many of these bikes.
