astoria like a half an hour from everywhere in queens and harlem its nice safe lots of places to eat but if you want cheap food not much to find here

I lived in Astoria from 1962 to 1969 as a teen. It was great!
Attended OLMC Elementary and MC HS. It was a great place and very safe!! Was in Drum Corps at St. Mary’s in LIC and St. Margaret Mary’s.
Queens is my favorite borough but never been to Astoria queens only Jamaica queensbridge definitely moving to nyc

Luis next time I'm in NYC I will visit the Astoria neighborhood. I have been to NYC four times, but I have never explored the Astoria neighborhood.
It's definitely worth the trip - we'll be doing a food tour of Astoria next time!

Former Astoria native here. born and bred. Left some time ago in my 30s to pursue different work opportunities and family life. Great video, love the history. Of course as a knuckle headed kid growing up there history was never a thought lol. I have seen other videos and was so surprised to see how the Ditmars area has changed as i spent my childhood in that pizza palace on the corner of Ditmars and 31st Street. Again , awesome watch. Thank you.
