I have a 2008 Audi A4 Quattro convertible 2.0 and I took it to the mechanic because I had an oil leak on the oil pan. He said it's 900 dollars to fix is it? How much can I get an oil pan for? In auto zone they sell it for 130 dollars and I actually told the mechanic that and he told me those won't work with my car because the Audi oil pan is steel metal. I just feel like it's definitely not 900 dollars I think is a little to much. I would try to do it myself but I don't have the lift or those jacks to lift the car. Do you think the mechanic is trying to charge me way more then what it actually cost?
@@rayray1846 I bought the oil pan and screws and bolts separately from Audi brand. Do I need a gasket aswell? I was told I need to change the oil and new oil filter.
It looks like your job will pay 4 hours. At $150 a hour plus the pan. That’s $730 plus tax. But without looking myself it just speculation. Maybe he charges $200 a hour.
What was the material you used to block the pan
not sure what you are asking. I used a two-part puddy to fix the hole Tho.

you are getting a good quote, this is not just a easy pan gasket replacement, you have to do a lot more work a lot.
