Directed by Jon Favreau (“Iron Man”), based on Rudyard Kipling’s timeless stories and inspired by Disney’s classic animated film, “The Jungle Book” is an all-new live-action epic adventure about Mowgli (newcomer Neel Sethi), a man-cub who’s been raised by a family of wolves. But Mowgli finds he is no longer welcome in the jungle when fearsome tiger Shere Khan (voice of Idris Elba), who bears the scars of Man, promises to eliminate what he sees as a threat. Urged to abandon the only home he’s ever known, Mowgli embarks on a captivating journey of self-discovery, guided by panther-turned-stern mentor Bagheera (voice of Ben Kingsley), and the free-spirited bear Baloo (voice of Bill Murray). Along the way, Mowgli encounters jungle creatures who don’t exactly have his best interests at heart, including Kaa (voice of Scarlett Johansson), a python whose seductive voice and gaze hypnotizes the man-cub, and the smooth-talking King Louie (voice of Christopher Walken), who tries to coerce Mowgli into giving up the secret to the elusive and deadly red flower: fire. The all-star cast also includes Lupita Nyong'o as the voice of the fiercely protective mother wolf Raksha, and Giancarlo Esposito as the voice of wolf pack’s alpha male Akela. “The Jungle Book” seamlessly blends live-action with photorealistic CGI animals and environments, using up-to-the-minute technology and storytelling techniques to immerse audiences in an enchanting and lush world. It’s a double edged sword really. On one hand, yes, it’s the best live action remake Disney ever made. On the other hand, they saw the success of this, and stretched it too far to where we now have sub parr to down right awful live action remakes of once beloved classics.
Sigh. At least we can collectively give this movie its flowers😅
Lady and the Tramp appears to be up there with it, though I haven’t seen it yet.
Disney remakes were great when they weren't worried about everything being woke and politically correct

Has to be said, the CGI of Baloo in the water is outstanding.
Could we please appreciate the beauty of all of the animations? Basically EVERYTHING is rendered here. The physics is AMAZING. Just look at that fur in the water OMG 🤯

im still not over how realistic the animation in this movie is, like its INSANE. the movment of the fur, the shadows and the way the water moved with the bear is just SO REALISTIC

This scene warmed my heart while watching this in the theater. I think that Mowgli struggling to hit all the notes/the lyrics correctly makes the scene more genuine too, because Baloo doesn't care if Mowgli's singing some parts wrong. He's happy just to have a buddy to sing along and have fun with. :D

i love the movie except this part. i've seen the original and the song felt more alive, but this one feels like they're just singing it for the sake of including it.

Animals don't have songs. In this rendition Baloo seems to only know what they are, this scene is just one for those who grew up with the cartoon to get a nostalgic feeling. I gave a really silly grin when this scene came because I remembered what the cartoon had. This works as the cartoon work but in separate levels.
Tbh im glad they didnt try to cover it all the way. In a way it might have tarnished the original.
