Mike, to me it would be a huge problem to date the synoptics past 70, since Jesus predicted the temple being destroyed. I think a lot of scholars move the bar because they can't accept fulfilled prophecy. The internal evidence alone tells us at least in some form, the gospels (the synoptics at least) were written prior to 70. I am also a doubter, I think you compromise too much, but we all have to draw the line somewhere and your ministry is important, because we're losing so many because of doubt.
While I agree that Matthew, Mark, and Luke are pre-70, it doesn't actually matter that much.
Jesus still predicted it - who cares if it was recorded afterwards? The claim they are making is that Jesus predicted it while alive. If the Gospels are seen to be historically reliable, a post-70 dating wouldn't affect this at all.

I'd argue it's more. Jesus wasn't the only person to predict it. Josephus speaks of another person who predicted it. We also have lots of reasons to believe the Gospels are reliable.
All the Gospels were written anonymously.

Yes, if you you were looking at this in an unbiased manner you could come to a different conclusion. The odds of the resurrection being false are higher than it being true.

There is NO evidence that early Christians were persecuted for believing in the resurrection. Belief in a resurrection is not contrary to Jewish teaching or Roman thought. Early Christians were opposed by Jewish leaders for saying that laws about unclean foods no longer applied and that temple sacrifice was no longer necessary, etc. The Romans persecuted Christians for being outsiders who wouldn't take part in the Roman rituals.
Not following. Christians didn't participate because they believed in the resurrection. So they were persecuted for their belief in the resurrection.

@ThinkitThrough-kd4fn Even if not directly, belief in the resurrection is what makes a Christian a Christian so any persecution is ultimately for that reason. Abstaining from pagan rituals is a given.
