Man, I almost cried watching this trailer. This is going to be a beautiful, epic and extraordinary movie.
Daniel Day-Lewis. Quite simply the greatest actor on this planet.
I love it how Steven brings the pictures to life!
Back when presidents weren't crooks and reality TV stars.
back when TV wasn't people's priority and capitalism wasn't full grown. Corrected.
Back when our presidents were more preoccupied with pleasing other countries before our own. Before we had a Muslim for a president.
Lincoln started a long line of Presidents who ignored the Constitution with rogue practices..the fairy tale is false.
@@subversivereality3908 not true at all.
movie gives me goosebumps watching, love history.
He's alive I thought that he was dead
Huh?
I appreciate your getting back to me on this.
If this movie doesn’t shake you then idk. It’s pretty powerful. Brings me to tears each time I see it or even trailers of it.
If you haven't seen this yet, get it on DVD you won't be dissapointed at all. This film is a master piece compaird to 12 Years Of A Slave in my opinion, there was time I got bored, yes the main actor's role's were good and the torture scenes were greatly done but the rest of it was boring. Lincoln was the Greates film ever made not 12 Years Of Slavery
Stop comparing. For me these movies is about showing how slavery was before. And slavery is a disease, so do people who wants slavery. And both movies never failed to depict it. Stop being one of those who constantly compare 2 things with similar theme when it shouldn't need to. You're more than that. I believe you are.
do you KNOW the REAL history of the man Lincoln? apparently not
***** Are you referring to me? If so, why are we heading to Lincoln's history?
Adrian Hansen I wasn't referring to you, and I don't believe we are heading into Lincoln's "history" (I'm not sure what you mean by that). But I have a video about Lincoln, if you want to check it out.
***** This movie is a fairly accurate portrayal of the period of Lincoln's life that it is portraying. Lincoln's views on slavery and African Americans in general were complex and evolved over time. Also he was a politician so he often said the politically expedient thing in lieu of what he actually felt (not that that is ok but it is clearly something politicians do all the time). If your "REAL" history fails to acknowledge these points, it's not really history but rather cherry-picked quotes chosen to fit a preconceived notion.
Character is like a tree and reputation like a shadow.
The shadow is what we think of it; the tree is the real thing.
Abraham Lincoln
Finally a trailer!!
Happy 10th anniversary, Lincoln!
My #1 favorite movie!
Released 11/16/2012!
1:37 its kylo ren
holds a burnt Lincoln hat "I will finish what your started...

+Cameron Swain Yup, thats true...
+Cameron Swain In that case thank god he died.....since he was from the 1700s :)
Fenriz the Jester : Then why bother to answer him?you gave enough of a fuck to write a nasty hate filled sentence
Yes this movie is one to be adored. Though keep in mind, this only came out 9 months ago.
Saw the movie and while I have no idea what the real Abraham Lincoln was like, I left the theater feeling as though I had been in his presence. Daniel Day Lewis was phenomenal. If he's not nominated for an Oscar, something is terribly wrong.
I respect and admire both Abraham Lincoln as a great politician and leader and Daniel-Day Lewis as my favorite actor, getting the movie soon and I can't wait to watch it.
This film looks absolutely breathtaking. Can't wait to see it.
I love Lincoln, and this looks legit. I am so excited to see this - His resemblence is awesome.
absolutely exquisite movie. Speilberg handled this movie with a subdued hand. He didn't hit the audience over the head with everything we already know. He didn't dwell on or have overly long scenes on the battles,or the tragedies. Just long enough to make an impression. I hope it wins the Academy Award for best picture over Argo.
Thanks for you kind words.
About time!
I think the trailer could have been a little more electrifying, but I think the entire movie will still be explosive and Oscar worthy.
the trailer is phenomenal... just might go and see it.
been waiting a while for this now! should be a good movie!
Excellent film. Brilliantly directed!
Superb. Can tell!
I was lucky enough to see some of this filming live. . .we had a great view from my office, plus I had to walk right by the Capital in Richmond several times while they were filming, Downtown Petersburg as well looked more beautiful than usual.
As President Lincoln has been a favorite of mine dating to a visit to Getttysburg with the Scouts in '70 I find that as I watch this movie it is like being in the presence of The Great Man.
This film looks amazing. Looks like another Oscar winner for both Spielberg and Lewis. Especially for Daniel Day-Lewis. What I love about Daniel Day-Lewis is that he is one of the few actors who actually cares about the roles he is playing and doesn't let his ego consume him. And every time he plays a role, he loses himself in it. Looking forward to seeing Lewis playing Honest Abe.
Great movie - I went to one of the last showings and I was the only person in the theater. Private showing. I was blown away!
really looking forward to it ! daniel-day lewis is just brilliant.
I can not wait for this movie. Another amazing Spielberg film.... OH YEAH!!!
great cast!
Fantastic movie. Lewis is at his finest in it. Best Spielberg movie ever. It has a great deal of humour in it too. I love the Washington picture story, and I'm English!
I think I will wait until its on television
Oh wow! I didn't know the rest of the cast is so star-studded!! This movie is going to be incredible.
He knows. What he is doing is telling the story of his final 4 months. His big struggle.(Spielberg said it himself) Steven can still make a tear jerking drama. The trailer to Saving Private Ryan is just like this, but when you watch it, it's really sad.
Abraham Lincoln such a blessed man.
I'm glad that Daniel Day-Lewis chose not to mimic Lincoln, but rather capture his essence for this movie. Can't wait to see it!
This was the first time I've ever seen Sir Daniel in basically anything whether if it's on the big screen or at home. I liked this.
Alice Kingsley me too
FINALLY something Thats worth watching. Steven Spielberg and Daniel Day Lewis, working together. My god. this is gonna be brilliant
Indeed. I've spoken to a friend who worked with him on the set of Last of the Mohicans and Daniel is one dedicated actor. I've never seen him portray a character that dissatisfies me. Though this topic doesn't appeal to me, I'm interested in seeing the movie purely for his work.
I want to see it now!
great job.
Can't wait!
Another Oscar performance for Daniel Day-Lewis. Guy is incredible.
Looks awesome!
I have to say that I have never been a fan of Lincoln, but, this is a good movie, worth the time to set and watch.
Oscar written all over it...fantastic!
I am so excited for this movie!!!
this looks good can,t wait
Lewis visually captures the frailty of Lincoln as he rapidly aged during his years in office
i cried a bit !!!
I am Brazilian citizen, but when I finished watching this movie and understand the history of the American Civil War and the reasons why the war happened made me feel proud of the United States, I feel as if I were a citizen of the United States. Lincoln was a great man!
I swear , Daniel Day Lewis better not be snuffed for another Oscar if he is as amazing as he always is in his movie roles.
He talks a bit about it in a brief interview to the NYTimes. The quote is: "There is historical evidence, in the form of contemporary accounts, that Lincoln had a high-pitched voice, and Mr. Day-Lewis has a private theory that higher voices carry better in crowds, and that made Lincoln such an effective orator".
I found it very interesting. His whole acting process tht he won't talk about is fascinating.
you damn right
*hugs lol! THANK YOU!!!
a great man, i wish i lived during his time!
I was just thinking that lol
Wow; this looks amazing! Can't wait for November.
same
Amazing
Spielberg smashed it once again .... bloody brilliant
this film gonna be epic.history is awesome plus with the director and the actors.this is awesome.
Looks like a great movie with great acting.
Hey, awesome. Thanks.
This movie was so beautiful and the ensemble act was even greater. I admit it was boring but ironically the film was historically exciting too. (:
Screw the haters! Spielberg still has a brilliant creativity of films today like back then. Everyone wishes that movies should be how they used to be... well, Spielberg here is one of your final hopes. Our hopes to keep seeing movies and applause like it's Gone with the Wind or Lawrence of Arabia. Hollywood is not dead yet. Open those eyes and press the replay button.
Stunning work, this will be an Epic experience!
This movie looks awesome
wow... that looks really good!
PARTY ON DUDES!!!!!
Awesome movie.
I'll watch anything with D-Day Lewis. That guy can act.
This looks great
i agree with you 100%
another great spielberg film coming our way! this man can do no wrong! he's pure cinematic gold in every genre. and daniel day-lewis is one of the best, most versatile actors in the world. i smell Oscars :P
Inspiration!
In Adams's index, Charles Dickens is referred to on pages 1, 12-13, 75, 85-88, 96, 207, 229, 242, On Cause of Civil War 88-91; on Emancipation Proclamation 141-42.
Why are people complaining about his voice. His voice may not be what we thought it was, but none of us know what his voice was really like. Considering he was a slender man he may have had a higher voice. But I can tell you one thing is that Daniel Day-Lewis is one of the best actors living. If you disagree go watch There Will Be Blood. He gets into character perfectly.
Why don't you upload a movie ?
I am searching for this movie in all the sites.
But it is not available.Even it is available it is not showing on full screen mode.
Plz upload movie
😔😔
really enjoyed this movie
Good call. Was thinking the exact same thing.
Oh yeah, baby! Spielberg does it again!
my god this looks amazing
I am not an american....but this movie made my cry!!!!I shed a tear or two in the scene, when the doctor announces Mr.Lincoln's death....the film is simply awesome!!
Astounding. There are people out here commenting on the worth of something from a two-minute trailer. Does that sound familiar at all to you? Who in the world would glean that the Civil War was a "feel-good" experience from this except someone looking for an argument or wanting to see his name on a post? And what does THIS film have to do with anything of today when it HASN'T EVEN BEEN RELEASED YET?
The best bit is when he comes back and picks up his axe again to kill all the Vampires fighting in the civil war I love Abraham Lincon, he kicks ass.
I'm glad someone knows history. I've no doubt the performances will be stellar but they could've stayed true to history and accomplished that.
I smell Oscar nominations with this film
I live to see this film.....
Daniel Day Lewis is the greatest actor of our lifetime.
Whoa...Joseph Gordon Levette looks just like Health Ledger in that one scene...
True it most likely will be but at the same time I still want to see how daniel day lewis performs as Lincoln
So true
He also said that being free nations is only the first step and what could we achieve after that.
These three books are outstanding:
Lincoln on Democracy, edited and introduced by Mario M. Cuomo and Harold Holzer. Lincoln's speeches, messages to Congress, and letters to supporters and friends.
Team of Rivals, by Doris Kearns Goodwin. This work won the Pulitzer Prize. It looks at Lincoln and those around him.
Abraham Lincoln, edited by Brian Lamb and Susan Swain. More than 70 essays by different historians including those who are very critical of him. All sides covered.
From reading the remarks in this
ddl gave me chills
