A little while ago I tested this gen of Camry and I think Toyota nailed it with the TNGA. There is also a non-hybrid 2.5 L version in other markets like Indonesia, which is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and it's also a nice powertrain
I work for a car hire company and we have a 2019 Camry, absolutely no issues with the armrest or aux/USB inputs like on that Camry, that one just seems to be a bit buggered Edit: feels as good as if not better but together than some a180s and CLAs or GLEs, feels smoother to drive and easier too cuz the gearstick is standard, just the infotainment system is less flashy and lacks the knobby wheel
Actually here in India, the hybrid variant almost has all the features that you've told Matt. But there is one feature missing in the Camry that you're showing. Here, for the back passengers they have a handrest along with some touch screen controls in order the control the rear A/C vents temperature, reclining the back seats individually and also for a shade that automatically raises when given a single touch !!!
The middle east is crazy about SUV's too, but Toyota targeted the taxi market of local transport authorities. Believe me, a reputation for reliability and not costing too much in the repair shop goes a long way.

The middle seatbelt has an extra clip which you're meant to clip on when you first buy the car. That's why it's still dangling, because the owner just hasn't clipped it on
There are two seatbelt receptacles for the middle seat; both are required to be fastened on. What you describe is the one without the red button. That is actually removable: there is a small hole on the side that hides a spring loaded button. Any key can press it with ease.

NGT4LIFE underpowered my asd it's because they don't use any fancy turbo or supercharger like many manufacturers does, and they use high reving NA engines plus their port and direct injection to both improve fuel economy and reduce carbon buildup
There is a reason why this car is the best selling mid size sedan in the world. It's the most reliable, very comfortable and practical as well. It's the most engaging to drive cause that isn't its aim. But it is the best at what it is and that's why it is the highest selling globally.

Best Camry for me is the 2010 model, marketed here in Australia as the Toyota Aurion with a 3.5L V6 pumping out 200kw (or 204kw with 95RON). The only exterior modification I made was to purchase 2nd hand Toyota Kluger wheels off eBay and fit it on the car with 235/35R19 rubber. I also have an ML550 which has 285kw and 4matic. Of course the Merc gets off the line quick but once you are rolling, I do believe the Aurion/Camry does pull harder. It is no slouch! I switched the head unit for one of those Android 9-inch head units and I stuck a sim card in it so that it's always connected. Runs Google Maps, TH-cam Music and voice navigation better than any standard car input system I've experienced.

Let's not reduce a car to its infotainment system. The Camry has superior drivetrain tech, reliability, economy and comfort which easily makes up for that.
Jim Μatis okay and who in the UK buying a new car cares about reliability? Chances are they will be driving a new car within 3-4 years. I disagree on the suspension. Obvioulsy it’s a big car, but the suspension is a charm. It’s no sport suspension, but it’s quite impressive and does a really good job in keeping this big body car safely on the road. Found the steering to be rather direct too, for the category. Strange, this car was released January 2018 here in Australia. It's similar to how we get European models 6-8 months after launch but 2 years seems a looong time.
Actually , they brought the Toyota Camry in Europe because they cut off production of the Toyota Avensis, which was the Toyota model for this class in Europe. It was easier to just replace it with the US Model.
I like it makes a difference from the usual boring German stuff. I like the design of the Camry it looks different from mainstream saloons. Will definitely be considering one next.

A little while ago I tested this gen of Camry and I think Toyota nailed it with the TNGA. There is also a non-hybrid 2.5 L version in other markets like Indonesia, which is mated to a 6-speed automatic gearbox and it's also a nice powertrain
Toyota is always the best at creating memories! Looking at their interior and I instantly have the 90s feeling, marvelous!
I work for a car hire company and we have a 2019 Camry, absolutely no issues with the armrest or aux/USB inputs like on that Camry, that one just seems to be a bit buggered
Edit: feels as good as if not better but together than some a180s and CLAs or GLEs, feels smoother to drive and easier too cuz the gearstick is standard, just the infotainment system is less flashy and lacks the knobby wheel
The return of a legend!

Interesting choice Toyota is making by introducing a sedan in a market that's crazy about SUVs and crossovers.
patriotbarrow its fortunate for them they got that niche covered too, and extremely well at that too :)
SUVs suck
SUV AND CUV are extremely popular here in Australia too.
@A real bisexual petrol-head nah, they are really popular in the UK.
The middle east is crazy about SUV's too, but Toyota targeted the taxi market of local transport authorities. Believe me, a reputation for reliability and not costing too much in the repair shop goes a long way.

Really like the new Camry. Think it’s a great car. That said, haven’t seen too many around so hope Toyota continue to make it for a while. Do hope it’s also proper family saloon that Toyota used to make as opposed to a lot of cars seemingly for older people.

This looks like the perfect taxi.
My first thought. There will be a lot of them on a streets pretty soon.
It is.
In Australia where I live, these are very common as taxis. Taxi companies get the base model with the hybrid powertrain.
@@adelaideautowashes Largely these are replacing the leftover Ford Falcons and Holdens and older XV40 taxicabs. However, they are adopting to having a fully hybrid fleet with Toyota Prius v (Prius + in Europe) to replace the aging Falcon BF wagons. Often while the transition to Toyota had been successful as the previous generation models were produced in Australia before the idea to shut down the factory and relocate it to overseas. Unfortunately, Holden did not have great reception when they transitioned to European + American rebadges.
In relation to your question about the XV70 Camry, you are correct, as mentioned Australian taxis are largely using hybrid powertrains due to their fuel consumption reduction, however at the same time, taxi operators are opting to use their own cars, so you may be surprised to see non-Camry models. Keep an eye out for weird vehicles such as Kia Sorentos, Toyota Corolla, Audi A6 etc. Taxis are endless options !!

Europe in general is catastrophically bad if you like cars. Especially Portugal, Netherlands and Scandinavian countries.

Matt is a lot more fun to watch when he reviews high dollar cars. He doesn't seem to "get" what a practical car is all about.

Strange, this car was released January 2018 here in Australia. It's similar to how we get European models 6-8 months after launch but 2 years seems a looong time.
