Damn, I’ve never seen him go so long without making a joke.
I think that’s the hardest part about being in comedy. People forget that they are still a person,. That just bc they make jokes or people laugh for a living doesn’t mean that they themselves are a joke.
I have so much respect for him and really anyone who own up to a mistake and change what they do or say. And I’d really like to give my two cents to whoever intentionally looked that far back and made this a thing again.
And if any good could come out of this situation it’s seeing the wisdom and maturity in which Keven Hart is showing the world on how to address and overcome all the trolls and haters out there. And how Ellen shows shows us how to love and support someone going through all of this.

I would just like to give major props to Kevin Hart. He is doing something no one has ever done before. So many times people are crucified for the mistakes they make or mistakes they don’t even make but instead of standing up they just apologize to try to make it go away. This is another great example of the power of the media to take a story and run with it and people believed only the things the media showed us and were too eager to jump in attacking him. Props for Kevin Hart paving the way to make this more common.

What’s hurtful or funny is subjective to each people. You can offend anyone with some of the dumbest things nowadays, even if what was said was completely true. The only things that should matter is whether what was being mean spirited or going out of their way with the intentions of insulting a group of people. Kevin already apologized for it (multiple times in the past, I’ve heard), but it’s doesn’t seem to be enough for them. And it seems nowadays, in order to appease liberals is for them to watch these people like Kevin to enter a trial by fire, because multiple apologies is not enough for them.

I love Kevin so much and I understand why he stepped down. He was disrespected by the Oscars and now they're struggling to find someone. Well Oscars, you effed up. Too freaking bad. There should have been no ultimatum. As much as I would love to see Kevin host the Oscars and as much as I understand what Ellen is saying about the haters winning... Kevin tried to ignore the hate, but he was given an ultimatum by the Academy that he couldn't ignore. I think if I were in his place, I would've done the same thing. It wasn't fair and I don't think he's letting the haters win, I think he's standing his ground. His power over the haters and his choice to ignore the haters was taken from him when he was forced into an ultimatum by the Oscars.
Cici Jefe the Academy’s reaction - their FIRST reaction- should’ve been to stand behind him and state irrevocably that Hart had already addressed this issue a decade ago. But demanding him to apologise first is basically saying “we agree or we bow down to the pressure these trolls are putting on us and Hart and since we have no spine we will demand another public apology from him” which is what they did. So good on Kevin for stepping down.
