@@sharnagrayson9649 yeah this girl called amia brave I think? But even so it makes sense why jorja is on it since she is bigger but it kinda defeats the whole meaning of the song
riightttt ,, i really thought the song was called Enny by Jorja smith at first because they only showed Jorja singing and didn’t put the name of the actual song and just said enny 😭🤦🏾♀️
As a black woman who’s been hating her black features recently, I really needed to hear this song. I’ve been playing it over and over and it makes me feel so good about myself and so proud. Thank you Enny! 🙏🏼
@Eriko. Oy You’ve misunderstood me. I’m a black woman, that’s it, nothing else. And it’s hard to love myself sometimes in a world that idealises euro-centric features. For me, this is what the song is about and that’s why I appreciate it so much. It says to me “you’re a black girl and that’s beautiful enough so get with it sis!” And that’s empowering.
We all go through times when we can only find fault in ourselves, and then comes a time when learn that beauty is not in other's eyes, rather it is in our own. I hope you get to see your incredible beauty, and most of all learn to appreciate it. You do not need to look like anyone else to be beautiful. 🤗
@Johanna Niesha.... as a black woman, this quote really stood out for me... “ if there is beautiful flower in the middle of the rainforest and no one ever sees it, does that make it any less beautiful?” I have been where you are sister and yes, it is difficult to be in societies where we are never are or will ever be the standard of beauty. That doesn’t make us any less beautiful, it’s just a different type of beauty. Much love Sis ❤️🖤💚

“I was black way back before it was a style” Black Women deserves way more recognition than this world’s been giving. Let’s hold up our crowns Back Queens
@@bbcmotd Because we start a lot of trends that are then copied and followed by white and even Asian/nb Latina people and yet don't get any recognition for it. White people want to wear our cornrows, our braids, are dreads, they want the size of our lips and the thiccness of our buttocks, but when Black women have those features, we are shamed for it.
I didn't think it was Jorja's tbh... I just heard the lyrics and was like "wow let me look up the full song " I typed in "peng black girl" and saw the original and the remix.. Both of them are really good
@@shaunkarabo4407 social media is not uplifting enny's verse nearly as much as they're doing for jorja.i just think she needs a little more credit than the one she's been getting.
@@shaunkarabo4407 a lot of people (including me) initially thought this was jorjas song because of how the media was sharing and promoting this. posting only jorjas verse, and not crediting the original artist.
ENNY's attitude is like a cool night, when the stars are out and you can just cotch up and chill. Ya nah ha fi smoke for it eda haha. Beautiful art from both beautiful beings. No derogatory slang, the way they speak about their peers with respectful tone. I rate this 100%. Big up.
Enny’s lyric “never wanna put us in the media”. The media has literally plastered Jorjia all over its platforms and even if it was because she’s a more popular artist, they could’ve at least given Enny a couple seconds to shine on the advertisement, seeing as it is HER song!
some people just like jorjia verse better its not abt who made the song its abt if its good or bot and i think they’re equally good but not everyones gonna think that u have to expect that everyone has different types of music and voices they like its childish but its what we have to expect
@@davyholl I’m not on about that. I’m saying how the advertisement makes it out to be Jorja’s song, and even if that’s because she’s more famous and would get the song more views, they could’ve given Enny a couple of minutes to be on the advertisement as well because it’s HER song. Yes everyone has different music taste and might like Jorjia I get that, but that’s not what I’m trying to say :)
@@dianaholoma8143 it wasnt enny theres a woman named amia and jorja is singing her part and they took her off if it if you watch the orginal you will know
The fact that the media is trying to just plaster jorja all over the song as if it isn’t enny’s the colorism of it all Edit: for people that didn’t know the song was originally sang by Enny and Amia Brave (a darker skinned black woman) who was then replaced by Jorja a biracial woman
How you just going to assume colorism.. I’m pretty sure jorja is more well known (correct me if I’m wrong) and PERSONALLY I liked her part way better than Enny’s she definitely still ate though
@@neekneek0108 Jorja's fame definitely plays a part in it but i think people are getting annoyed because all over social media you only seem to see Jorja and only a few people are recognising the original artist Enny. A lot of people think this happened because Jorja is bi-racial and a lot more plaettable to the media which i do agree plays a part.
The fact that Amia Brave was taken off this just doesn’t sit right with my soul. She’s so gorgeous & was the original writer of the hook. If she was on this it would’ve catapulted her career but industry antics comes in. Yes it’s a remix, but Amia could’ve also been on COLORS & just had her hook while Jorja had her beautiful verse & it’s 3 powerful black women on here. That way they all get to shine.
It’s unfortunate but I doubt it would be anywhere near as popular with this many views if Jorja wasn’t in it, they could have at least done all 3, what’s even worse is the fact that when people post this on tiktok, twiter, snap, insta ect is the fact that people are only posting jorjas segment without ENNY
Jorja is the reason this song is blowing up right now and I think that Jorja's voice fits the song better than Amia, no disrespect to her. Also, I don't think Amia was taken off in a sense because this the remix.
“I was black when it wasn’t even in style”that part hit different because the fact that people used to bully me for the color of my skin (my natural skin color looks like it’s tanned) and now suddenly everyone wants it because it’s a “trend”
"Never wanna put us in the media." They don't. Especially on this song, which even calls it out. Jorja's face was all over this trend. When I searched it up last week, I was surprised to see that the song wasn't by Jorja. Though they're both Black women, they should both be involved in the shine of this song since it talks about issues we all face. As a "medium tone" girl, I like seeing both sides shine.
i'm hispanic, but you're so right and worded it perfectly! black women are so strong and incredible, we need to see them and all women of color on top.
"MJ leather jacket, beat it Billie Jean, MJ leather jacket cause I think I’m bad." *Cold!!!* Jorja's vocal's are so smooth as well. I come back to this song religiously.
Is nobody gonna talk about how smooth ENNY is spitting out those sick lyrics and don't even start on their outfits 😍😍🤩🤩🤯they slayed this song (edit):thx for the likes
This song is a proud celebration and an affirmation of heartache, a release that starts the process of healing, a journey. I tear up every time I play this song, love to my gyaldem 🙏🏽
The way Jorja sings, you can tell she has a 'strong' voice...the distance from her to the mic plus the fact that she looks like she's not putting any effort while singing....That is a God-given talent right there....She makes everything look so effortless and her voice is just AMAZING. One in a million.

Verse 1:
There’s peng black girls in my area code
Dark skin, light skin, medium tone
Permed tings, braids, got minis afros
Thick lips got hips some of us don’t
Big nose contour some of us won’t
Never wanna put us in the media bro
Want a fat booty like Kardashians? (No)
Want a fat booty like my Aunty got yo
Wheel up the bloodclart tell her reload it
I’ve got the camera my girls are posing
I need some back up then my ones are rolling
Grown woman ting so I’m never at risk
Mind my own business so I’m never in mess.
Who am I? I ain’t bait
Get a slice of the cake
Want a house with a view
And a new pair of shoes
Keep it real from the jump
Gucci gang little pump
Little vibe, little bass, little kick, little snare
Little lies big truths
Do you, they don’t care
Do you, they don’t care
Get your ass out the box and build up from there
I don’t have a gang with me
But I still walk with a gangster lean
And rock Nike’s cause we think they’re clean
MJ leather jacket, beat it Billie Jean
MJ leather jacket cause I think I’m bad

These black girls need to be in the shows
Be on runways
Not just mood boards
On top of that we gotta see them in your team

Had a Jerry curl one time
Soft n sheen
Where black girl magic is sometimes blue
might of broke a hair band or two
Raise my voice you gonna say that I’m angry
Kiss my teeth now u say I’m hood
Kid at 16 say it’s my destiny
Drive a range they think I’m up to no good
Give us a break and let’s us breath man
Give us a chance, let us achieve fam
And I know that my hair looks different today
Don’t touch my hair"
Enny Verse 2:
New hair
Who this
Old black bomber jacket
And the Bantu twists
Look mind over matter I can handle this
We’re fine took a second the rewards in risk
See I think that I care too much

I’ve got nothing to give but you love check my flaws and all my trials

As a black woman who’s been hating her black features recently, I really needed to hear this song. I’ve been playing it over and over and it makes me feel so good about myself and so proud. Thank you Enny! 🙏🏼
@Eriko. Oy You’ve misunderstood me. I’m a black woman, that’s it, nothing else. And it’s hard to love myself sometimes in a world that idealises euro-centric features. For me, this is what the song is about and that’s why I appreciate it so much. It says to me “you’re a black girl and that’s beautiful enough so get with it sis!” And that’s empowering.
YOU’RE BEAUTIFUL💖
We all go through times when we can only find fault in ourselves, and then comes a time when learn that beauty is not in other's eyes, rather it is in our own. I hope you get to see your incredible beauty, and most of all learn to appreciate it.
You do not need to look like anyone else to be beautiful. 🤗
@Johanna Niesha.... as a black woman, this quote really stood out for me...
“ if there is beautiful flower in the middle of the rainforest and no one ever sees it, does that make it any less beautiful?”
I have been where you are sister and yes, it is difficult to be in societies where we are never are or will ever be the standard of beauty. That doesn’t make us any less beautiful, it’s just a different type of beauty. Much love Sis
