I like the variety. I like orchid videos, Tropical Plants videos, Streptocarpus videos, Begonia videos I find you to be entertaining and informative and it’s clear that you are trying to make the videos more interesting. I say keep up the good work.😀
I started watching because I was into Streptocarpus but then my tastes changed and I got into Orhids, then aroids and then Hoya. I love update videos and collection videos but I think the most important thing is for you as the maker of the video to be really enthusiastic about what you are doing. In other words do what you really enjoy and people will love it too! 😊
Oh Helen, that sounds sooooo like me! I can't settle on one plant family - there's just too much out there I want to grow. And thanks for the advice - very easy to forget in the cut and thrust of video making. Thanks for the well-needed reminder.

I love your greenhouse. It reminds me of one I designed and built years ago while I lived on Long Island. I had the bubble wrap inside exactly as you've done. They are so cozy when it's cold out. To go inside, feel the warmth and humidity, see all the blooming plants and smell the fragrance, that was pure heaven. All the best to you and yours. I do think the things are going really nice and this type of videos I definitely enjoy more then the short ones. Just saying 😌 And about the sulfur hot box, I think we had a lot of pests that we couldn't see, everything in my plant room is bursting with growth and is December 😊 So don't stop rumbling 🥰

It's normal for channels to stall from time to time. But I do like the rambling sort of video. You're doing a lot of the plants that I'm not doing at the moment but would like to.
I've noticed mine tends to naturally slow down in November and December - likely just a seasonal thing - hopefully! Even knowing this it's still a blow when I know how much work and effort goes into it. Glad you're enjoying the rambling...🤣

Geoff, I don’t think it’s that unusual for TH-cam posters to have middling views for years, then they have some increased growth, sometimes suddenly. It seems random. I like videos like todays, to see plant changes, progress and problems. BTW, I came here originally for the Streptocarpus, just like another commenter here, but I tuned back for the rest, as I’m into more types of plants lately. I think the differences between both growing spaces is quite interesting
Yeah you're right Margaret. Everything looks to be going well with increasing subs and views, then you get downturns in the opposite direction - like November and December, and it all feels like a waste of considerable effort. And it DOES take up a LOT of time and effort - especially if you try and do things like I've been doing them. Yet I still make a loss on it. At present, unless things take an upward turn again I'm getting increasingly doubtful I'll be able to sustain it through this winter. It's such a shame as it's my dream 'job'! But I'm glad you're still enjoying them - that does really help to know this.
Geoff, it's great to hear your on the mend, and I enjoyed this type of video ( more natural ). Wanted to ask re: hot box and sulphur - did you remove plants before lighting it ? Reason for asking is read some people's reaction to using above whilst plants in situ, and ruined the green leaves??!! But it seems your plants have improved in vigour even without mites. Thanks Peter, I'm really pleased you enjoyed the video. It's funny, with this type of video I get loads of engagement, yet my stats show me over two thirds of people abandon it within a few minutes. Yet the shorter, scripted ones get hardly any engagement but people watch most of them. Who knows?! I'll just keep mixing it up and searching for the format that 'most' people want. Regarding the sulphur, the whole point of it is to kill the pests on the plants, so it's hardly going to do that if the plants are removed. I've been using it for some months now, and have detected zero residue on the leaves. I think in the past people have used 'sulphur burners' whereas this simply melts the sulphur, which then evaporates off. It's a lot more gentle. It certainly appears to be working for me - so far - fingers crossed!
Lovely walk and talk! Sorry bout the electric bill 💸😓 I feel you on that as I have almost no natural light and not very good insulation as well 😬 I wish I had suggestions for your channel but as usual I'm no help 🙃
