Say what you want about crisis core story-and really I ema. It-but the moments between aerith and Zach are great. And I think this scene shows off not only how these two will develop but who they were before ff7.
Aerith here is still young, more fresh about her experience with shinra. She prob met a few of soldiers as a kid. Plus her connection to the life force means she prob feels the deaths of those killed by soldier. But unlike aerith that we know from ff7, this aerith is also quick to judge because of her sge and experiences. We also see that she quite nervous as she apologizes quickly to Zach.
Zach of course I’m not sure what he is thinking. He clearly was bothered at first by aerith’s words about soldier but I do think he reflected on that with silence. Afterall, Zach IS different from other soldiers. He is cheerful, kind, and not prone to having emotional baggage. But Zach is also immature to an extent. He starts out wanting to be the best soldier he can be because that means, to him, being a hero. The game will show us how he evolves. He will tell cloud not to join solder, something his mentor had warned him earlier in the game.
But of course, Zach and aerith resolve this awkward problem by being open and flirty with each other. They are romantics at heart and good ppl. And perhaps this is where aerith, the one who sees the good/complexity on ppl, starts to develop a less judge mental opinion of the world.
Afterall, if she had never met Zach and instead met cloud as shown in the OG/remake, it’s likely aerith WOULDNT be so kind/flirty with him.

The way at the end, when Aerith says “you talk in your sleep” no Aerith…. It’s cause your an ancient. I like how she always has a viable story for knowing things no one tells her.
I can see that but I’m pretty sure aerith can’t see other peoples thoughts in there sleep only hear and sense those in the life stream
So wait? Why do Soldier’s like fighting for? Aerith tells Zack that there weird and like fighting.
In fact, it was impossible to her to know that he probably talks in his sleep, for neither a day has passed from when he fallen from the sky, inside the church. Just som hours passed from that event.

Consider that, in the canon story of OG, Zack is dead. She is 22 year old at the OG, and has no reasons to await the return of someone that is DEAD.

Compared to ff7 Remake they talk Quite normal, thats for sure
Color of the sky, right? No, the sky is blue not teal or green-blue. I always wondered if this was some artifact of the Japanese perception of color like they whey they describe stop lights as blue.
The fan service makes the overall plot weird too. Zack and Cloud fall through the exact same spot in the roof. She wakes them up in the exact same manner. Zack makes the same comment as Cloud does in Sector 8 about the flowers.They both have flashbacks to their childhoods when they fall.They go on the same date with Aerith. She more or less says the exact same thing to both of them regarding their eyes. They have a similar conversation regarding her opinion on the sky or steel sky.They fight the same monsters on their way through the slums. They have similar run ins with the slum children. It's a little much despite being a series of heartwarming scenes. I get that Aerith senses something of Zack within Cloud, but you'd think she'd mention a little more than she does in Remake with just how much of a carbon copy Cloud is coming off as at the time.
That's pretty much why I dislike Crisis Core despite it being a good game. I played the OG FF7 first, and to me, it always seemed like Crisis Core just took everything about Cloud and Aerith (especially Aerith) and gave it to Crisis Core and Zack. It's like Aerith's whole character only exists because of Zack if you play Crisis Core. Her flirtiness, her ribbon, her being a flower merchant, her wearing pink. Hate it.
Yeah they laid on the similarities a little thick. They always wanted to have some similarities between Aerith meeting both Zack and Cloud and it was going to be more subtle to forshadow why she seems curious about Cloud in the original game. However because of Space issues with the PSP and the UMDs they pretty much repurposed Cloud and Aeriths meeting but with Zack this time. It gets the point across but it's kind of ridiculous that both Cloud and Zack fell into the flowerbed in the church.
