  • The Band Weaving Pattern Editor is an excellent FREE online tool for creating inkle patterns.
Many thanks to Jeff Bigot for creating and maintaining it!
It was used to illustrate my two books, "In Celebration of Plain Weave: Color & Design Inspiration for Inkle Weavers" and "Three-Color Pickup for Inkle Weavers".
This is a short intro to using Version 1.
You can find Version 1 here: www.raktres.net/seizenn/edito...
There is now a second version here: www.raktres.net/seizenn/#/inkle
Many of the basic operational functions work the same, but it has even more useful features.

Thank you Annie MacHale for this video. I had almost given up on the pattern editor. Now I'm excited. With it and your book I feel I can definitely move on.
    Thank you bunches.

I LOVE this tool! Glad that you found the video helpful. He keeps making it do more things and there is now a newer version. Much of it works the same way, but you may have to spend some time playing with it to find the newest features. His blog here gives tips as he makes changes, so be sure to read it for the latest info: www.raktres.net/blog/

Thanks a lot for making this video ❤ I had given up on trying to comprehend how to use the pattern generator so this comes as a true game-changer! 😊
Another thing I’ve been looking for but can’t seem to find, is an explanation to how you join the two ends of a handwoven band more or less invisibly to each other, e.g. for decorative use around a naalbound hat or a skirt’s hem. You don’t happen to have any tips, do you?

There are more videos made by Jeff who created the pattern generator. They can be found on his TH-cam channel here: www.youtube.com/@raktres/videos
As for joining the two ends of the band, I can't help you with that. I've never done it myself. Good luck!

Merci beaucoup Anne, cette vidéo est vraiment super et aide énormément. Je suis débutante en Inkle loom weaving et j'ai presque tout compris de suite. Il n'y avait pas une traduction du loom pattern editeur? Merci encore!

I'm glad that you found it helpful. I didn't understand your question. You can always write to Jeff Bigot who made the Pattern Editor. He is French and can answer any translation issues.

Hi! I have been playing around with this but can't seem to find how to put the threading draft that you show at the side of the pattern.

    • @ASpinnerWeaver
      @ASpinnerWeaver  2 หลายเดือนก่อน

Hi. I don't understand your question. The threading draft is show in 2 forms. The first is the two rows at the top of the pattern which are separated by a little space from the "drawdown" or preview of the pattern below. Then, the second threading draft uses a different format of blocks with white space in between. It is alongside the main pattern/drawdown. It may be a little easier to read. You have to give the page a 1/4 turn to read it.

I mostly use cotton yarns for my projects. My favorite is Omega Sinfonia. It's made in Mexico and can be purchased in the U.S. from Creative Yarn Source here: creativeyarnsource.com/product/sinfonia/

Hi. I'm sorry that there is no translation for you. I only speak English. You can learn much by using the tool yourself although this will take some time. I found that the more I used it, the more I understood how it worked. I hope that you give it a try!

@@fatmakts616 Bunu yazmak için Google Translate'i kullandım. Merhaba.
