Not quite correct about the F1 engine connection: only the blocks were used - BMW Motorsport used 100,000 km blocks because all the casting stresses had gone. Each block had about 100 hours of work, even down to smoothing off the inside so the oil could drain back quickly.
These 1500/1600 cars were superb. Imagine getting out of a 1500 or 1600 British car and then driving this.

I would love to talk to some of the guys on the production line producing these cars. Learn and understand from them about the car. Hopefully I will own a new class one day:/

My first BMW was a 1971 2000, colour Chamonix. I'm still driving a BMW 50 years later. Great cars.

The 2002 until 1976 or 1977, when it was replaced by the 3 series, the 1500 would have been as popular as the 2002, but with 4 doors, the car is so refined ,elegant, distiguished.

Beautiful looking car. This has always been among my favourite German cars.

I loved the report and it’s design cues from the Chevrolet Corvair another sweetheart of mine!
