Another edit: There is a small mistake in the layout… the front door gap should only be 1 block instead of 3, so just place an extra block on each side.

Being original is great for a personal house/base. Some of us, however, dont just build houses. When you're creating cities that cover entire level 4 maps, its better to use other architecture from multiple people or you wind up with a ton of carbon copies of maybe a dozen houses. The more diverse you make it, the more natural it feels when its finished

@@BenJamin-vp3rd nope! i found some stony peaks, so sourcing it wasn't too much of a problem. i did break it up with a little bit of diorite in places though

easiest build to follow along.. I still messed up roof but your calm pace / reassuring fly arounds helped.. now on to the interior! doing this in a SMP with friends by myself so it's a bit harder, keep up the great work!
Well it took 2 days, probably around 12 hours total if you count having to regularly stop and gather more resources, but I completed it in survival mode. It's a new world so I have yet to do literally anything else yet, but at least I have a mansion to start my playthrough. This tutorial was excellent, and I learned a ton while doing it so I look forward to applying this knowledge to my future builds. Thank you so much!
I have been playing around in creative trying to make a build so like this for weeks! And today this shows up on my suggestions! I think the universe heard my frustrations and delivered. I look forward to trying to build this with my own touches in survival soon!

you're never lazy with any of your explanations and i cant tell you as someone who gets distracted easily and loses track of what im doing how grateful for that i am. You explain things really clearly and concisely, making sure to hover on visuals so i can really get the picture and dont force my imagination to fill in blanks for me. I used Tuff for the walls that were used for calcite and it looks just as good if not better :) 10/10
I used Polished Diorite and honestly I think it looks better than the calcite

I know the video is not exactly recent, but just wanted to thank you for it. I've just built it in my survival world with a different block palette (since I have a few mods) and I honestly loved how it turned out. Can't wait to check the interior video.
The house is absolutely amazing. Though I thought with that many grayish color, the chimney would look better and more stand out if you use normal brick

Finished both the exterior and interior all in survival with two of my friends on my server. I'll say that it was one of the hardest builds I've done in survival. Scaffolding helps a ton. A few modifications that I've made was adding more lanterns on the outside to prevent mobs from spawning too close. We also made an underwater basement since we live on an island (had to expand it for this build of course) that we had in our old house, so now with the old house torn down our mansion sits perfectly over the basement and we added the stairwell to go down.
Did you have enough room inside?
@@arathearapaima7107 there is plenty of room. You could go with a basement like we did to have more storage space but yeah its adequate enough

Dude, your tutorial is brilliant. Just finished building this in my realm. The hardest part was when I realized the materials i had to gather. But it turned out wonderful, even better with some glowberries on the frontside.

Edit: the world I'm in is very special as I'm using it to introduce my younger sibling to survival Minecraft, he is frustrated and getting angry but he is starting to really have fun and I can't wait to load this up five years from now and show him what we built together. I just wish he would quit making ugly dirt towers everywhere lol.

@@Sbcde265 i have found 3 geodes, i mined all the calcite in 1 of them, a little bit in the second one and nothing in the third, but I need more now for then interior

Forge Labs used this build in his video from 13 days ago. 3 MILLION people have seen UR build! It's a bit diff but he gave u a shoutout & I thought it was awesome. I built this a while back, should be an old comment here from me also. A walk by the living room TV, my son was sleeping in the bed, and I thought to myself, that's so weird that this ended up on the TV again and then I noticed it was someone else using your build. It was Forge labs and he's a pretty big TH-camr and it seems like no one has told you yet so here I am! I couldn't believe what I was seeing and I knew the house so well because I built it

@@bailarinasesina1752 You’re looking for Amethyst Geodes. They are all over the place underground. Try searching for them in large cave systems. The block forms a layer between the amethyst inside and the tuff on the outside.

Ok so this took me a long time for the not doing the interior yet but I can admit this is been the easiest tutorial I've ever don't but it still being so detailed and thought out and i love it it was so easy to do without getting confused on the steps like a few other tutorials I've seen it was really helpful and it turned out really good thanks for this ^^
