    I don’t really reveal much of the Tour Read System here because I’m not allowed to teach the on course system online. But to use it, I walk off the distance of the putt do a math equation for a one percent slope then I read the slope from the side because 85% of all golfers can learn to see slope that way the other 15 can learn to see it standing on the line. then I do some simple math to make an adjustment for more or less than one percent of slope then another simple adjustment for appeal, downhill and greens faster or slower than the baseline. That gives me a number that is the exact number of inches outside the pan. It looks like I’m just walking around and reading the Green. But I’m doing the math in my head. And that is the magic of the Tour Read system and it works precisely, no guessing.

    I have 'Liked' many Mr. One Putt videos over the years, but I'm really not sure about this one. Unless I missed it, he doesn't say anything about the new method other than quickly flashing a shot of the phone app and the example putt at the end of the video does not seem to use any different technique than any normal golfer would use. What am I missing here?

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +2

      Fair criticism. I have posted a video of the Tour Read system previously. I’m not allowed to share the math and the on course system online, but basically you walk off the distance of the putt and then there’s a math equation based on that distance and the percentage of slope that you’ve learned to read through the app and then there’s a math addition or subtraction for uphill downhill and another percentage of addition or subtraction for the speed of the greens being faster or slower and that tells me exactly how many inches right or left. One of the things I love most. Is it feels very much like a very traditional green reading method except for you’re seeing the exact slope and doing math so it’s not a guess or a feel it’s exact.

      what youre missing is the technique is locked behind a $100 yearly app subscription so he can't just give it all away for free

      I’ll teach a similar method that works better without an App because you calibrate it at the practice green for the golf course you are playing. I don’t charge for it but if I list it here someone will…so I won’t

      @@misteroneputt why is there a yearly fee if once you learn the math you don't need the app? I have a level app on my phone I use in practice to get the slope and % uphill or downhill already and use Aimpoit with my fingers now. I 1 putt about every 4 holes, 2 putt the remainder and 3 putt maybe every other 18 now. That is thanks to watching your videos, so thanks.

    Just so I fully understand, your message here is that your experience with Tour Read has educated/trained you to be able to "see" all 3: the slope, the break, and the green speed so accurately that you don't need to use it. Right?
    That's exciting since I purchased Tour Read based on this.

    Something I saw in the app reviews is that you have to make sure you have an iPhone case that makes the back of the phone level, placing a phone with no case on the ground will not be level because of the camera bump

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Not exactly. Yes a phone case might cause it to be not level. But there’s a function where you put your phone on a surface you know to be level and calibrate it. So that solves the problem. You would have to recalibrate if you changed phone cases

      Not really. The purpose of the app is to teach you the system and establish speed during warm up. You use the app in warm up or practice to learn and practice. The only use of the app during the round is if you choose to check after putts to see if you read slope correctly

    So hitting a putt on a practice green where you give lessons is supposed to prove to us that the system works?
    No.
    Not only that, but everything you said sounds like reading a putt the old fashioned way.
    1. Find the drains. That's where the water goes so that is where your ball wants to go.
    2. Is it up or down hill.
    3. Pick a spot to the side and then in front of or behind the hole.
    4. Forget the hole. Hit to your spot and let gravity do it's job.
    Also, I have found that a tri-line putter and tri-line ball help a lot. Once the ball is down and you like the line, all you have to do is think of speed. If the speed is correct, it's a two putt at worst.

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I certainly do putt often on this green but the holes are moved regularly. You make a valid point. Problem with this video is my agreement with Tour Read says I cannot share the on course method and math online. One of the things I love is that this method adds exact math to the common sense old fashioned method. If I know the distance and green speed and can read slope side to side and uphill downhill hill I can quickly calculate exactly how many inches right or left of the pin to start the ball. That is the advantage. It takes what we already know and gives a method to quantify it exactly. The proof would be the number of tour players and caddies using this method and the fact that Ralph Bauer, who created this method is the putting coach for the leaders in strokes gained putting on tour almost every week and for 3 of the last 4 weeks.

    I went to their site. They want $99 per year for an app, which sounds like nothing more than a level, and access to some math formula. I’m betting it’s something that could be taught in a video or two. But then how would someone make all that money. No thanks.

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It would take about 10 videos to teach and yes it’s a little pricey. The app is incredibly more complex than a level but I certainly understand your sentiment.

      @@misteroneputt I can't figure out the difference between Tour Read and something like the Green Slope which measures the slope and gives you the estimated break. I have to figure out the stint, but that's pretty easy with a few test putts. I agree that the finger system of aimpoint is really suspect. However, I'm also pretty skeptical most people are good enough to aim 14" vs. 17" inches right from 10 feet away. I'm working on a pretty good solution for that though.

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  8 หลายเดือนก่อน

      @@-Thunder I agree. The biggest difference is Tour Read gives an exact distance for an aiming point or start line IF you’ve read the slope uphill downhill correctly and know the green speed. Also Ralph Bauer from Tour read has players he coaches in the top 2 or 3 in Strokes gained putting every week

    Confused? Using a device is one thing, but applying the info in a real life scenario is something completely different.

    • @misteroneputt
      @misteroneputt  7 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I understand. But, the device does several things. 1. It teaches you to read the amount of slope 2. It gives you a way to check your read of slope on the practice green or on the course AFTER you putt in a casual round with friends. This helps you get good at reading the amount of slope. 3. Once you have the distance and slope known there is simple math to know exact inches left or right of the pin to aim. The device teaches you to apply the info and yes it is different making the read in real life vs using the device. No doubt. It helps. Think of it this way. The device gives you the info at first. Then you switch it to practice mode and it teaches you to get the info. Applying the info is the same in real life as it is in practice.
