I call that one Double Harmonic (D# is a little better than Eb since it is a leading tone). A great place to use it is over the tune Caravan for example (A section). Mimi Fox turned me on to that. Are you requesting an episode on it?
Hello. Thanks for the videos and I am greatly enjoying them. I am not finding a place where I can download the pdf documentations that you sometimes say can be downloaded by clicking something. Where are those links?
On notreble.com, where the posts live. Here you go: www.notreble.com/buzz/2017/01/02/talking-technique-beautiful-practice-in-minor/ and the PDF is here: www.notreble.com/buzz/wp-content/uploads/2017/01/Talking-Technique-Beautiful-Practice-in-Minor.pdf?x43795 Happy shedding!
Danke für den Versuch (that is really bad German on my part btw, trying to translate "Thanks for the effort" - some things don't work as well in German as in English!) Cheers
Ah there is no backing track - it is a plug in that selectively applies reverb to overtones of G and I use a delay pedal for the hocket delay. Here is a tutorial on how to do that: th-cam.com/video/9zD-l7RJYb0/w-d-xo.html
Love it . That'll keep me busy for at least 6 months ! Simple principles but dramatic results ! Thank you

thank a lot for this exercise. I love it.
Reminds me of autumn leaves a bit. Great lesson!
Good ears. Autumn Leaves goes through the diatonic cycle in minor as well. It starts on the IV chord. Happy playing!

I'm not much of a student but I am curious as to where one might listen to your original work.

sounds like one of my J.S. Bach piano pieces. Now I can do this on bass!!!! love
Yes! Bach uses sequences a lot... moving a shape through various chords...

Beautiful exercise, just like a piece of J. S. Bach! Is the tab downloadable?

Soooo...what would you do with say the (E) Byzantine scale (E, F, G#, A, B, C, Eb)? 💪🎸

Watch next Talking Technique (Episode 57) and there is your Byzantine Scale Randall There'll be a test on Monday ;)
