Great video. Incredibly helpful. Not sure why it took me so long to finally get around to doing this. It was much easier than I thought, so thank you! I installed a Bluetooth device in my 2006 Odyssey using this method and can now ditch the sad little portable Bluetooth speaker we have been using.
Excellent video - step-by-step instructions make it easy to follow. I installed my adapter successfully and works great. I skipped the hole-drilling part and found a nook beside the tray to pull the jack out of, and it's a greater length of cord this way, though slightly less professional.
2006 Honda Odyssey Touring edition- with DVD player and XM radio -- the jack on the back of radio you need will disconnect XM radio, not the DVD player. Just did it today and did it in like 30 minutes with testing and reassembly.
AGREED! Thanks a bunch for taking a sec to let me know you found the video useful. We use our adapter every day. Would love to hear how the install goes for you!
It does have an aux jack, but it's only 2.5mm or 3.55 mm input jack, and most of the ipod/iphone aux adapter kits connect directly to the radio head and not to the jack itself. Go figure.
You where Very gracious sweet an clearly explained you Are Talented to do this please don't stop here you will be a successful youtuber star Respectfully Carlitos Daniel.
I also thought you could run a AUX cord from the back up front for connection also, my Aux connection is in the third seats row, so thats the way I did it and just fed the wires under my mats. Done!
i have an 06 odyssey and i could not find that anywhere! i looked in the third row seats under the mats and in the doors where you roll the windows down i could not find squat!
I just plugged in white/red jacks & plugged into phone headphone jack (I happened to have this cable to plug phone into older Bose wave radio) & tried everything on the radio, including AUX and DVD and CD and the phone music never made it to the van speakers. (2006 Oddysey - jack are inside little compartment at arm rest on Driver's side only - pass. side has storage only)
Great video!!! I just saw on Amazon that they have the same unit you installed without the part you cut off. Only around $18!! Thanks for the video. I was so wondering how I was going to remove the radio to get the unit I just ordered hooked up. I have a 2006 Odyssey LX. I'm hoping that it will work. I did see that the unit is not compatible with models that have a DVD player.
I do believe you are disabling the CD player. If you have Spotify, for instance, you have access to all your CD's from your phone anyhow. My wife is thinking it's worth the trade off - we'll probably only have this vehicle a couple more years anyhow, before upgrading to a newer one which will have bluetooth. Had this 2006 van since Dec. 2005!
I have a question and hope you see this. I see that there was a plug W/wiring already in the Auxiliary port that you unplugged. So, what was this for? What exactly was being unplugged in order to put the new item in?
What was plugged into the white before? I need to do this to both my Ridgeline and Odyssey. The Odyssey has a disc changer and a DVD player. So hopefully neither are plugged into the white adapter!
Bar H Thanks. I drive Uber, and lost the Music option when I got this vehicle. Trying to find a quality system without breaking the bank. I’ll give it a shot.
Bar H just got it the other day and installed it during my lunch break. The sound is great, no whine. For now I just fed the plugs down under the dash as I want to get a female adapter and surface mount it to the face of the radio. The problem with the male adapters is eventually the wire will break from getting bent. Also, definitely need a magnetic driver for that back screw. Mine dropped into the depths of the dash area. I'll have to get another one, but for now the radio seems good and snug.
I know this is a totally different direction, but the previous owner of my 05 Odyssey had a factory cassette deck installed where the storage compartment is. You might be able to purchase one from a salvage yard / eBay / dealer , cheep since the cassette has disappeared. I use a Cassette Aux. Adapter with mine that comes with a 3ft. 3.5mm jack. I have also seen they have a Bluetooth Cassette available now also. Just thought I would note other options if you have a cassette player. Thank for your video, it was very clear and professional, kudos to your videographer also!
My daughter and I did this today. Took about 30 minutes. It works great! Thanks so much for the tutorial.

Queensryche - Silent Lucidity! I'd have done this years ago, simply never occurred to me. Thanks Ms. Holly!
So much for an adaptor. But video is great and clear enough with great instructions to add it. Thank you.

Thanks!! And congratulations on getting one installed for yourself!

I know this is a while back, but do you have a link to what you got?
Your work was very neat 👌
You’re video was the best one thank you great information 👍👍
Just bought a 05 odyssey thanks for the video, drives me nuts not being able to plug my phone in!
AGREED! Thanks a bunch for taking a sec to let me know you found the video useful. We use our adapter every day. Would love to hear how the install goes for you!
Thank you. Worked perfectly on our 2007 EX.
Geez, u would think an 06 Honda would simply have a auxiliary jack.

Thanks! I did not need all of the steps, but the ones I did use worked well.
Great job, lady ! Super !

Nice play! Glad you had a set-up that worked for you!!

How did you get this to work? What cords did you use?

our in-dash CD player still works after doing this... good luck with the mod!!!
You are amazing..lady...
Good works thanks
What is the white color plug you take out for? What’s affecting ?
I have a question and hope you see this. I see that there was a plug W/wiring already in the Auxiliary port that you unplugged. So, what was this for? What exactly was being unplugged in order to put the new item in?
Sometimes, those can be for an external video player, I believe. Ours doesn't have any of that.
It’s a wiring harness for the rest of the hardware necessary to add XM radio; specifically tuner and antenna
Hoping to do this soon thanks for the video. What was the white plug for that you disconnected from the radio?
Does your vehicle have the Honda RES? (Rear entertainment system).
It doesn't.
Can you do the same video for a 2007 Honda Odyssey EX-L
This video should cover 2005 - 2010 models.
Is it the same process with a Honda Odyssey 2006 with navigation?
What was plugged into the white before? I need to do this to both my Ridgeline and Odyssey. The Odyssey has a disc changer and a DVD player. So hopefully neither are plugged into the white adapter!
Joshua Jackson says on website, you need a splitter for aux and CD changer
Can you tell me the description/Manufacturer of the part you ordered? The Amazon link no longer works. Thanks!
Bummer. It looks like it might be "Moonet".
@@barh1020 thanks I think I found it
2005 Honda Odyssey Touring - Can somebody please send me the Amazon Canadian site for this device. Thank you for your time.
Nice!!!
How is the sound once the engine is running? Other brands I checked out have the "alternator whine" coming through the speakers.
Entropius Victor, good question. I know the noise you're talking about but I haven't noticed it. If it's there it hasn't been a distraction.
Bar H Thanks. I drive Uber, and lost the Music option when I got this vehicle. Trying to find a quality system without breaking the bank. I’ll give it a shot.
Entropius Victor... Good luck and be safe out there. Let us know how it goes!

Link does not work
Do you know if this would work for an 05 Pilot? And did it effect your subwoofer at all?
Not sure.
Do you get any interference (static) when the engine is running?
We don't.
Bar H that’s what I wanted to hear...
If you avoid disconecting power to the radio you won't need the code
Which plug would be the power??
great video! I'm wondering, does this disable the CD player, the DVD player or both? Trying to figure out if the trade off is worth it...
WE don't have the DVD so can't answer that. Do have in-dash CD and that still works.
Where do you live ? Ill pay you to do mine for me !!!
Didn’t find a plug in the back of the radio in my 2006 Honda Odyssey! Disappointed
You need to have a code?! WOW..
Music gave me a headache
Good video, ditch the music. Sorry but its annoying!
WHY THE VIDEO GOTTA START SO DAMN LOUD my volume was on full blast
I was about to have a heart attack
i like you ms.holly
I like your car
This is way to much work 🤦🏽♀️🤷🏽♀️😳
did I see a ring on your left hand, as I want to marry you.😉

Why is the button even there 😂
