Oregon, Illinois is where we will be in October for my wife's annual family reunion. Nice little town. They have the reunion on the Paddle Wheel boat called The Pride of Oregon located on Rock River. Black Hawk Statue located in Lowden State Park. Lots of interesting places to stay including one where you can rent a room where Abraham Lincoln stayed. Safe travels. Hopefully you'll show some of Oregon, Illinois.
My Labrador Retriever also knows the word "walk", so I use "stroll" instead when talking to others and I don't want to get her all excited.
Vulture Mine Road looks like an Interesting Road. Looks like it doesn’t receive much traffic which is Good for those that use it. 😬👍
I bet that it's a warm one their in the summer time. Safe travels 🚛💨💨💨💨
Thank you Super Dan &Bailey..You two Do a wonderful ❤ Job Together ❤💙😀😊♥..
Oregon Illinois is where I got my first chauffeurs license in 88. The license place was in the courthouse. I had an old cabover with a flatbed. The woman in the office had to be about 60 years old(that seemed old at that time in my life) I'm now 55, anyways she looks at that cabover and said I'm not getting up in that. She said if you can make it around the square and not hit anything park back where your at and you will pass. I hired on that outfit Halloween day of 1988. Not a lick of experience. The good ole days.
Love going down backroads, stress free traveling
My Pebbles knows what "Walk" means too !! She gets all excited and starts doing a dance :) :)
Love those little cactus!
I was expecting to see wile-e-coyote chasing the road runner on those back roads 🦩🐈⬛
Dan, Thanks for the 'backroad's' tour. Freshly washed air from monsoon season and green desert, beautiful place, peaceful and quiet.
Nice to see you and Bailey back on the road again. I would have loved to have checked out the Vulture Mine rd. I once lived in Coolidge AZ and went to Vegas a few times. One time on my way back I was following a gas tanker heading to Wickenburg. I was in my car and I had a close to 7 hours drive home. I had a CB in my car and we BS'd down the road. Made the trip go quicker. I still run a CB in my car.
Yahoooooooo back in the grove
My mistake Dan. The problem was on my end. Good to see you and Bailey back out there again .
Hello Dan and Bailey thank you for the 101 on the vulture mine I will definitely check more out on the Arizona history please keep the videos rolling and you and Bailey be safe...
truck and trailer looking good Dan , This is what I found about it Dan ,
1864 and 1916 the mine run , It pulled out 360,000 ounces of gold and 260,00 ounces of silver , It is the most productive mind in Arizona History , Most likely to be the real source lost Dutchman's gold ,
Mickey mouse , Everybody love Mickey Mouse back in the day 😂😁
Bailey's thinking I'm hungry dad let's eat I wanna go to sleep 😂😎
Hey Dan, Maybe on some vids you can have a Bailey-Cam....she could get her own tiny box in the lower left corner?? :D
I bet you enjoy running down back roads like that! Thanks for the ride along brother. Be most careful out there. 😎✌🏻
Thanks Dan and Bailey for the video take care of yourself watch your back stay safe.
As a Prescottonian, it's nice to see roads I know and have driven. From your neck in the woods, yeah, this is a good first leg to get to Vegas.
I love driving backroads, thanks for sharing!
Hi awesome video thanks for history of mine and as always you and your families be safe 🇺🇸🇺🇸🇺🇸
I take 335th Ave off VMR, short hop on 10 the south to Gila Bend. Been avoiding the Phx traffic for years 👍
I hope you don’t work in California, but I use to! Got a ticket for toe nailing my dunnage to the deck! Love your show!
I remember in the 60’s i was a kid. We went to those mines and went in one of the closed mines. It was neat but it was dangerous. What adventure tho.
Hey , you should have come by the house, I live right off Vulture mine rd so of Wickenburg. I think the mine is still giving tours of the old ghost town that was part of the mine. The mine is still in operation.
Welcome back my friend and Bailey
Safe Travels. Give Miss Bailey scratches behind her ears, a hug, & some smooches. Do the same for Bandit when you get home. When I’d go visit relatives in Texas from West Alabama, I’d occasionally take a back road; usually because there’s a train involved. Once I traveled as much as possible on US 11 & US 80. Plus US from East Texas to the DFW area.
One of the few things I miss about living on AZ are the cactus views and the skies during sunrise/sunset. Stay safe
Nice to see you two rolling again, be safe! I always enjoy the drive on the back roads in my '67 Vette.
Stay safe out there on the roads.
Thanks Dan, be safe 👍
Great timing Dan. Just stopped for my 10 off. headed to oshkosh, be safe
I carry stake pocket holders for 4×4 they come in handy.
Stay safe after Dan see you next time
Brilliant Dan love them back roads in Arizona ( you missing the monsoon)
Stay safe on your travels 🌵🇬🇧👍
Oh gosh, I got caught in a speed trap in Wickenburg on my way back to LA after racing in Phoenix. No l-10. Full on speed trap from 55-25 in half a mile. 29 in that 25 got you a ticket every time and if out of state right to count or the clerk and you paid. I had AAA and in the early 70’s there was $200 bond. I paid the $25 ticket in the Northridge CA, AAA office.
Used to go thru Wickenburg on my way to Baghdad to load back to Iowa
I see you stop in Las Cruces a lot there’s a little restaurant called the shed that you should really try if you get a chance it’s the best breakfast in Las Cruces
between Winnemucca and Reno there are some open pit mines, still in operation, on I-80. think it was copper. i never got to see the inside of the large mine in SLC, but you see all the slag pits that surround it
Thanks for the video
Thanks for another interesting ride Dan. Good to see you again. Blessings
Staying in Las Cruces? My father was stationed at White Sands Missile Range and we lived in La Cruces back in 1962-63 (I was just a toddler back then). Moved to Ft. Richardson, AK right afterwards. Thanks for bringing up the history!
Made my day seeing you had another video up since I got stuck sitting in Vernon California all day waiting on one pallet of Italian sausage
Have a great evening.
Been down that road many times. Stay safe Dan.
An old trucker showed me that way years ago. Still take it if I go to Vegas from Phoenix. No traffic at all really.
Enjoy the videos, Dan. Safe travels
Las cruces is awesome I have my grandma and father living up there I love to see one of my favorite TH-camrs is also going through 👍🏽
Have a great trip and stay safe.
Thanks Dan
Thanks for the tour.
Oh yea you’re right back roads are the best I always enjoy running those myself
That road would be bad during the monsoonal rains. We live up by the grand canyon. I havent made to Wickenberg yet.
First time i went to Arizona and seen the landscape the bridges there are all painted in desert colors the road runner is the state animal in New Mexico I believe
Cool video Dan 👍
Gotta love those light no tarp loads
Another good video Dan KEEP ON TRUCKIN 👍 🇺🇲 🚛 🐘
Very interesting road. If you break down on it you may be waiting a while for help, not much traffic on it.
Use to load out of casa grande AZ. For amargosa valley NV. Always came back and ran vulture mine rd seems like it was quicker than fighting Phoenix.
Going to Vegas, I take I-10 to exit 45 Vicksburg thru Parker to 62 then CA 95
Great video Dan thank you.
Hubby and I stopped in Tonapah years ago on a trip from Las Vegas to Lake Tahoe then onto Reno to fly home. Safe travels. Thanks for all ur videos and posting!!
You stopped at the better Tonopah. The AZ one is just a truck stop off the I 10.
Hi Dan been following for years. Coming back out next spring. Will take that road looks like a good one. There was one you took by a copper mine I can't remember the number of that road it looked like a good one also. Safe travels my friend
Thanks for the backroad tour! I have allways wonderd why the trailer have a bow on it?
Strength
Just curious, why not go from the pickup point down toward PHX, get on the 303 taking that north and east to the 17 north to flagstaff and run the 40 east to OK? Seems a bit shorter than the route you just took down to gila bend and las cruces?
Living in Iowa, that road with cacti growing everywhere looked fun. I know my home town has regular flat bed loads going out, but it's mainly farm machinery.
I thought Dan the man retired
👍
👍👍
Looking for a 🚂 Dan😁
Don't forget to secure your MM nail holder with a short piece of wood. There is nothing more annoying than when the latch slips off and your stuff is all over the place. I speak from experience.
👍🏻👍🏻
I wish I had a whole nights running (or day) of your truck on CD. I could listen to that all night long ❤🐘🇺🇸
🤦
Dan , you audio was very low on this video.
Dan with the spread you get 40,000 right? But without it is 32,000?
34,000
You have no idea how little the new driver's know. There needs to be a basic class or something that shows basic principles of air conditioning, air brakes, engine basics power steering, etc. Hi bailey.
IOWA??? What was that? Lol
I get what your saying it’s fine. Lol
are you sure it wasn't copper
