I’m loving this game a lot!!! When you put the gas mask on; the entire game really came to life for me. They did an excellent job; making the gas mask feel like you’re actually in it looking out through a visor with the condensation buildup and debris
Good review! Felt very balanced without automatically succumbing to hype. Maybe because you were wary of Vertigo doing it. Either way, glad I went to this review first.
It that extra clarity and resolution vs haptics and I think whether you can run it at max on pc as well. I(Ryan) can't run it on max so I opted for psvr 2 and am having a great time. It's a good game regardless of the headset.
Hey, this is Chris weighing in. I have a 3080 and could run it at max settings and close to the max resolution scaling. You will be able to run it sharper and without reprojection, but without the haptic triggers and headset rumble of the PSVR 2. I guess it depends on what is more important to you.@DANBR22
@@shugghead8538 Thanks Shugg, now that makes it even harder :) , even more so when considering the free Quest version I can get when buying the Rift version. If only there was a mod for the PSVR2 haptics on PCVR.
What the hell kind of flashlight only illuminates a small circle in a dark area like that. Must be walking around with a door looking through the peephole all the time don't understand why I thought that was a good idea.
What dynamic light on PC and PSVR2 are you talking about? All shadows except the flashlight are baked/static, which for me is a huge downgrade compared to the previous Metro games, even Metro that came out on PS3 lol
muzzle flashes. anyway, welcome to yet another game made for Quest - and I'd say with "quest parity" baked in. psvr 2 and pcvr would be capable of much more, but sadly neither Sony nor Valve care so this is all you got on the menu... enjoy, as usual
@@VRnamek Unfortunately, I have to agree with you. That's why in this VR version you can't go to the surface. PS5 and especially PC would be able to run Metro Exodus in VR without any problems. All previous Metro games were known for having dynamic lighting with dynamic shadows that built the atmosphere and were part of the gameplay because you could turn off the lights and use night vision.
The torch in this game doesn't cast shadows. The gunplay is also annoying. And the stealth mechanic is stupid. As if an enemy doesn't spot you you can kill them with 1 punch. If they do spot you then even going at them like mike Tyson won't take them down.
I agree with this review 100%...even the 8.5. me personally i give it a 9 easy "because" it's a VR game...minus the ridiculous RE games and GT7 one cant expect a VR game to hv the budget of a flat screen game. VR games will never sell as many copies. One must be realistic
I’m surprised more reviews haven’t talked about this games low res textures and character models. I’m on PC and they look rough. Still a fun game though
Agree after all the hype I expected better even on my old 3070ti...mostly a blurry mess. Unfortunately this then affected the whole experience for me. If creators had mentioned it just looks like Arizona I would have had different expectations and may have persevered. Ended up refunding on Steam. Might try again one day...
I have a 5800x3d and rtx 4080super. Graphics looks really good the fog looks really good for VR with the Shadows but this game is a beast because I can only run it on high
Interesting. I have a rtx 3080 and a 10th gen i7. I was able to run it max settings with the resolution scaling 3 below the max and 1.5 supersampling. I did however turn off all anti aliasing.
That’s the main problem with pc’s, a bit like a sports car, you need a good mechanic to tune a powerful engine, otherwise it’s under powered or runs like shit.
@@VRGRID Why would you lower resolution scaling and then turn up supersampling? You're lowering the resolution just to turn around and raise it..... They both change the render resolution and any supersampling over native is essentially just intensive antialiasing
Lol mainly because i had the supersampling set to 1.5 as a steam vr default and metro didnt let me bring up the steam advanced settings in game. @MrBeetsGaming
Sounds like the PC version is the way to go. Haptics are nice but that alone won't make up for blurrier visuals on PSVR 2. If it had DFR and HDR I probably would have went with the PSVR 2 version.
Its good but not great. The reviewers are getring a bit too hype about it. I loke this review, its quite honest. Its got jank. And the enviroment gets dull or is dull all the time. It does have a level of fear going for it. Can be played in short bursts, but playing for more than an hour gets boring.
Only one other reviewer had enough integrity to mention the repetitive and lackluster environment which gets dull quickly. Thx for confirming this. Looking for honest reviews is a minefield these days, which involves distinguishing invertebrates (i.e influencers) from reviewers with backbone.
@Zeidinho it's good for about 3 hours then you start noticing the same rooms and corridors over and over. at one point I thought I'd gone back into the same room but it wasn't, as the exit of the identical room took me somewhere else. They should have removed all the copy paste sections and made the game shorter. That way it wouldn't be so samey.
@@RussBlake80 thx for sharing; I guess thats one way to extend gameplay. It's a bit all over the place TBH, it does some things well like the horror panic part. But shooting is a bit hit and miss, stealth is janky, and the enemies saying the same thing over an over gets jarring, they constantly say "where are you bitch", "bitch I'm gonna find you bitch" , "bitch, bitch bitch" ffs, texture pop in is annoying and the lighting isnt all that great, I've played 4 hours and I'd say it's a 6.5 out of 10 so far.
