what a lot of guys do is modify a racing go kart air filter adapter that attaches to the briggs Raptor and Clone carburetors and drills the 3 holes in the top and screws it to the top of the oppy carb. send me an email and tomorrow I can send you a picture on how mine is setup Haulngrassracing@gmail.com

i just love those opposed twins.not alot of hp.but torquey as hell.great for snowplow tractors.been using mine for 27 years & still runs great.but it is also well maintenenced.i'll probably die before it does.just goes to show splash lubed engines CAN last a long time with proper maintenence.
im making a build and want to use an opposed twin but not sure if it will fit could you let me know how wide the the block is with out the intake on it thanks
Unfortunately that was almost 10 years ago and I’ve been out of it for about half that time. EC Carburetors usually has all kinds of speed parts for several engines. I would start there. You can also check out heymow.com for great forums
Hauln left you a couple of tips on your other FXT race build page. ( used to race private track had a ball miss it. And we raced Professional Superbike raing in Usa Haulin You do GOOD work . But when are they going to allow these small, new, inexpensive turbos. Then EVERYONE could race in FXT class and improve racing / Small knockoff turbo costs 250$ , EASY to install and get SAME Horsepower as WORKED George Herrin mower at 1/4 of the price . AND last longer because you get same Horsepower at only 6000RPM
hey! thanks for the tips. I think they won't allow it because it's not something that would generally come on a mower. they still want to keep it original, at least to a point. but yeah turbos would be cool!
that sounds good , but then why do you have to take 20hp then ore an stroke to 51ci? complete waste of money. Why not allow the 35/38/40hp big blok engines? its only a 400$ difference . much heaper than bore and stroking a 20 hp. More durable AND come in iiquid cooled versions. The head temp Gauges are LD and small 1 1/2 X1 inch. The stainless steel oil filters ost 80 to 100$ but good for a lifetime (washable) and you REALLY get more oil to heads. Cost 80 to 100$ but last lifetime (washable)4340 The 4340 Chrome moly con rods are muh better than bilet units and only cost 120$ a pair . Engine is bullet proof when they are installed. You will see anouther ectra glide with liuid cooled 1000 briggs v-twin turbo Superharging this time . Sold last one ran smooth as silk and had more power than any of Harleys cvo 110ci engines
OR allow turbos on opposed fathead twins. With turbo they could be EQUAL to George herrin build You can get 4340 Chrome molly rods for 120$ a pair, je pistons 300$ a pair $200 for carb off ebay oil cooler and small circulation pump you have a 100hp engine for 600-700$ We raced professionally Superbikes in USA. We raced Professionally inSuperbike racing in USA mower racing was just as fun. but its ridiculous to take 20hp engine the bore and stroke it to 51ci when Briggs and Kohler BOTH make 993/1000cc engines??? ARE THEY TRYING TO MAKE RACING MORE EPENSIVE????
I love your mower ;D
What size of wheels did you running?
What kind of air filter adapter do you recommend for an opposed twin with a 4 bolt carb?
