Mountains to Sea Trail - Segment 5 - Wide Open Spaces, Finding a Trail Angel & Stalking Cows - Day 5

May 21, 2024 - Day 5 of 6 on the MST. Segment 5. You never know what to expect when you start moving. I didn't know where I'd stay for the night or how far I'd hike. This day's hike brought me through trails, forest roads, parks, old carriage roads and paved roads. I walked through forests and wide open fields. I visited a manor, saw horses, deer and snakes. I was chased by cows (multiple times) and found the most amazing trail angels. Thanks John and Shelly!

How was the Section between Clingmans Dome to Cherokee that maze of trails kicked my butt at first Trails going everywhere Reservation land No Blazes when I did it Linville Gorge watch out for Huge timber Rattler's

I enjoyed the part thru the smokies. I don't think they're allowed to have blazes in national parks. It wasn't too bad using FarOut. Sadly I didn't see any rattlers in the gorge. I saw one a few years ago hiking the loop with friends.
