  • Top 10 Skills Used In Builds In Last Epoch According To LETools 2024
    In this video I go over the top 10 aggregated skills used by characters that are using the LE planner, which is a decent amount of people, so its a good excuse to talk about some of the most used skills in LE. Even if the info is slightly biased, a lot of the skills on this list are definitely up there in usage rates across the population.

    The amount of times I've killed myself using Volatile Reversal during the Julra fight (SMDH). Great skill, but always count the time out.

    I love the absolute knowledge bombs you drop on these videos. It's definitely why I watch. The top 10 doesn't even really matter since you explain how universal these skills are to the core of the gameplay loops. That level of extra detail is what I crave.
    Rhetorically (maybe an idea), would you consider making a finale video of your cycle starter testing giving your "top blah" or if not a "top" or "tier" just a summary of the builds tested with some final thoughts per each just prior to cycle start? It might be an avenue to add context (i.e. knowledge bomb) to give an avenue to your excellent build explainers.
    You've got me thinking about so many different things, all I can say is thanks.

    My unpopular opinion as a big time mage enjoyer is that in the current game I don't actually think flame ward is that great / relevant as a source of extra DR. Even with insane CDR the downtime is large enough that you can't really rely on it for defense, as using it means you are extra vulnerable (relatively speaking) for the next 6+ seconds. A lot of the time things that kill you are very sudden or unexpected with how mage tends to generate their EHP, so if you had time to react with flame ward you probably also would have been able to just avoid the damage.
    If you wait for the perfect times for flame ward usage, you'll have a lot of windows where you could have used it to mitigate some damage and boost some ward to keep your sustained ward level higher for the small bits of damage you consistently take, rather than mitigating those rare huge hits.
    Quite a few of my builds this season I didn't even spec into flame ward but still used it as free fire skill on my bar for runic to proc the OP frost-fire-frost invocation. The ones that did spec into flame ward I often just used it as a ward booster to keep my EHP level generally high as that gave more overall value than the unreliable 30% EHP.
    Unspec'd Flame Ward is also just really strong, the fact you still get 30% DR without investing into the tree feels pretty wild.
    TL:DR I find it better to consistently have higher ward numbers so that when a big hit comes you are in a better spot to survive it, than waiting for that big hit to try to reduce the damage it does.
    I imagine that will change when they nerf ward / ward generation and Frost Guard, likely making correct usage of flame ward DR mandatory for playing mage.

      That's because you are playing Mage after they added an insane amount of power creep, which renders Flame Ward unnecessary. But when your average ward value was around 4k, and you did not have Cold Fire Cold, it was one of your main defenses. When they finally get around to balancing things again, maybe one day in the future, then you will be forced to use Flame Ward again.

      @@Dr3adful yea 100%, that's exactly what I said in the last bit there - I agree it will be mandatory again likely in 1.1

    hey Dr3adful, thank you for the Video.
    i have 2 question:
    1. which build is the sorc playing in the 1. chapter (flame ward) it looks super cool and fun to play.
    2. do you already know when class changes/ balances will be announced for 1.1? it is only 6 days left until patch.
    Keep up the good work 🙂

    Interesting dive into skills, thank you.
    Maybe I misunderstood you but I haven't seen most people complain about Volatile Reversal being "weak". The primary complaint is that it feels bad to use (especially during mapping, though one could argue it isn't necessary for mapping) and since it is so damn strong, dropping it is not really a sacrifice you can reasonably make to improve the QoL of your build. Whenever I consider playing a Sentinel, Volatile Reversal's clunkiness is always an argument against it, I always have to think "this build might be cool but I'd have to use VR" etc.

    WTf no shuriken :o I though it was used in 100% rogue build either for offensive or for insane armor bonus. Probably because rogue have less build on LEtools.

    • @Dr3adful
      @Dr3adful  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +3

      Rogue's have been moving away from EHP stacking and more into stacking large portions of damage and utilizing powerful sources of silver shrouds to kill bosses. Rogue is in a complete mess right now as there are a lot of setups that have multiple magnitudes of more damage than they are intended to have, meaning its literally easier to kill the boss then actually go toe to toe like they used to. This will be fixed next patch if they fix Falconer and Explosive Trap hopefully. You are right though Shuriken is insane.

    LE is kinda weird in that way that every build uses everything in a way...
    Im gona be honest here i thought this video was going to be active used damage dealing skills. Not like Supports everyone uses anyway...

      @Dr3adful  5 วันที่ผ่านมา +4

      Those active dealing damage skills would suck if they didn't have these insane support skills to back them up.
