Great review, thank you. It makes me even more anxious to get the one I’ve had on order for four months now.

The left foot bump on the driver side is a dealbreaker for some, but I think people notice it more when the seat position is not correct for them. Adjust the Recaro seat forward or back, and up or down, and you can transform the driving position to a more upright sitting position. Helps enormously. BTW, that bump is where the diesel DPF filter is located.

Ford recently applied for a patent to have the in-car tech listen to conversations and then automatically
bombard the touch screen with "targeted adverts"......
In a rapidly growing digital / AI world the Grenadier and its analogue underpinnings is welcomed by many who don't
require the state to track their every move.
    Great review.

Drive it off road or overland it and you will find it’s f…..g awesome! Didn’t find the turning circle an issue in the Gibson desert or the flinders ranges. The footrest works well when going up the Sir Fredericks Ranges or Victorian high country. Drive one for long distances, then comment on the comfort. It’s bloody comfortable. It’s great every presenter is trying to find fault with the vehicle. After all, it has to earn its stripes.

Went for a test drive here in Melbourne, but couldn't get right with the protruding bump into the footwell and as I brake left-foot, this was nigh on impossible to safely regulate. Went down the road and got added to the mile long waiting list for the new KIA Tasman.

Good to see the QM content. I’m a Grenadier owner in the US, so we drive on the correct side of the road and don’t have an issue with the footwell ;o). For the QM, it would be great if there were a flatbed option for a full camper buildout (and the spare would be up top or in back) - but payload might be an issue. Towing fine - payload more the concern. Oh yeah - and the MINOR problem that we pay a 25% surcharge on pickups and commercial vehicles, which makes it nosebleed expensive. I think it will go with a small group of enthusiasts, but the cost for the base will be as much as the cost for a fully-built out alternative.

But your steering wheel on the left side so that's not the right side most.people in the world are right handed so you yanks are backwards!
The whole reason cars became right hand drive is because when roads were invented horse and cart riders drivers needed to be able to use their weapons while fighting enemies or bandits, roads were in Europe long before US, though somewhere Europe prob after WW2 changed to left hand drive we can thank you for that too since the liberation victors make the rules. Each to their own I have driven in the US wasn't too bad😂 Is yours a Petrol or Diesel, Petrol won't have the hump 🐫👍

@ You got me this time, Professor Moriarty - you evil Australians with your B57 Grenadiers and Bluey brainwashing American children to kill us in our sleep. Yeah - B58 for me - no option for B57 in the US and Canada. BMW wouldn’t give Ineos a 10+ year emissions certification - not BMW’s fault. It’s our regulatory bi-polar disorder regarding diesel in North America.

They have grown on me a bit, and to their credit they have catered very well to the touring crowd.
That said, they missed their brief of no-compromise off-road biased design. The wheel arches are quite small, the control arms are very short, the rear overhang on the Quartermaster is huge, the RHD version leaves the steering stabiliser very vulnerable.
When you consider there was an existing company, also in England, that had already achieved the no compromise, fully customisable off-road bias design (IBEX), i get the impression that they were more trying to catch the rich European farmers that no longer had the Landrovers as an option.

Grenadier is a great vehicle, but I'm surprised you didn't even mention the BIGGEST negative, the Fuel Range. To be a proper Outback tourer it needs to have double the fuel tank and unfortunately there is no way to upgrade it even. By the time you load extra jerry cans with fuel and spare wheel, there is no room left for the set up.
This video is more like a press showcase rather than an honest opinion piece.
Thank for sharing the beauty of Ikara-Flinders Ranges.

@@intimatespearfisher yeah look I won’t argue with you on that one, I’m shorter so wasn’t an issue for me but can totally understand how it is a problem for taller people!

    • @becstadotcom
      @becstadotcom 2 หลายเดือนก่อน +8

When you’re new, and sit in the drivers seat, yes, you will notice the foot bump. But you also very quickly get used to it. A large part of it is also seat position - journos aren’t expected to play with the seat position much (forward, back, and up/down), nor are they to know the correct way to engage diff lockers and offroad mode. Get the seat positions right, steering wheel position set for you, and it’s a _very_ comfy car to drive _very_ long distances.

hopefully they find a way to get the cooler / radiator behind the bash plate out of the way the bash plate funnels ice and mud straight into the radiator also the steering dampener sits about the same Hight as the bottom of your front diff and will get squashed if your doing harder tracks. Will look awesome with a tray and canopy set up on the back
