Thanks! Schoolbuses usually have bright colours for visibility. The schoolbus I took when I was a kid was also orange, it was a Mercedes 309.

Waw! Heel erg knap. Zoals steeds zit het hem in de details. En die zijn top! Sowieso een van de tofste Siku modellen. Wij vonden die al paar keer in het lichtblauw. De Polizei-variant staat nog op de wishlist.

Bedankt! Ja, de lichtblauwe is de camper. Heeft een interieur met een fornuis en een rek op het dak waar een plastic kano in past. Voor de rest zijn beide modellen identiek. Ik denk dat ik de groene politieversie in de doos heb liggen. Weet niet zeker in welke staat hij verkeert.

Wow!!!nicely restored or should I say restomod. The wheels suit the van/ schoolbus for the era perfectly and so do the extra detailing. Why did you widen the holes in the plastic suspension? Shouldn’t they fit perfectly to snap on, or did I miss something in the video?

Thanks! I noticed that it was pretty hard to get the suspension back onto the rivets. I was planning to widen the holes and glue it, but widening them with a 1.5mm drill made them just big enough to snap over the rivets.

Mag ik vragen wat voor een middel jij gebruikt om te ontvetten?

Dag Paul. Ik gebruik isopropyl alcohol (isopropanol) om het model helemaal te ontvetten voor het primen. Werkt geweldig goed, droogt op in enkele seconden en kan ook voor andere zaken gebruikt worden, zoals het verdunnen van verf en het schoonmaken van de airbrush.

@@BelgianDiecastRestorations Super. Ik heb daar ook naar gezocht maar weet niet waar ik dit kan kopen. In Nederland zit daar accijns op waardoor dit erg duur spul is. Ik weet niet of dat in België ook zo is.

Heb enkele jaren geleden een bus van 5L op eBay gekocht en die gaat nog steeds mee. Als je op eBay op isopropanol zoekt, krijg je ook de Duitse verkopers te zien. Wel rekening houden met verzendkosten.
