OK. Let's dream for a moment. Under Thor's ownership (and money), Tiffin actually improves their quality and customer service. Tiffin becomes the CROWN JEWEL of Thor. Cusgomers sing the praises of the purchase that Thor made. Great!! ...oh wait, I was only dreaming.
I have a 2016 Entegra Anthem (pre Thor model). I can tell you that Entegra has maintained exceptional customer service since the Thor buyout. They have also continued to innovate and upgrade the newer units with more features and some nice tech my unit doesn’t have,, like air leveling as well was hydraulic leveling. Digital dash with in dash TPMS. And many more upgrades that have me wanting to trade in.
Airstream went downhill with Thor. Doesn't matter if the company keeps its name. A large company will always downgrade for profit. Rev owns Lance now and things are definitely not the same.
First we must get away from “family owned business “ it’s a business and such is at the whims of large corporate business. There is a reason Tiffin sold ie Market Share you may have noticed the runaway sales for RV’s in general opportunity is knocking. They answered the door and sold. Bob is a figurehead he will be moved aside shortly new company equals new people. Your loyalty to Tiffin is apparent. I’m a Newmar owner and when they sold you didn’t justify it as much as you are now. But I get it. But, this has gone from a family to a corporation and anyone who is smart knows this will make a difference in product and customer service. Maybe not now but certainly down the road.

As a Vanliegh beacon owner I’ve seen the legendary customer service diminish leading up to the sale, they used to answer calls most cases or call you right back. Recently I had an emergency call no answer, no call back 3 day on, they apologized profusely, said they would make it up to me, never did and then did it to me again the very next problem. Seems they had one foot out the door already and maybe Thor was already cutting service.
Didn't read all the comments so not sure if anyone has mentioned the workers, the one's who actually build the product. Let's home Thor treats those folks as good or better as that is the key to maintaining quality in the product and what will become of the brand. Business is business and if your workers are happy and you treat them well I think the Tiffen brand will be just fine.
Lazy Daze class C motorhomes in California is still family owned and operated, over 50 years. Not to be confused with the Lazy Days RV retail chain out of Florida. Originator of the class C.

I've heard people say, who have Airstreams that were built under Thor, things are breaking ALL the time! We have an Itasca and Winnebaga bought them out. They kept the lines separate and Itasco seem to be a tiny step better in quality. Now, I think they come off the line. I listened to your comments about the Thor acquisition of Tiffin. I take a jaundiced view of Thor buying up a smaller RV manufacturer after my experience. My first RV was a Camplite, an all-aluminum, light weight, very durable camper. Besides an aluminum frame, it had an aluminum floor, aluminum exterior cladding, and very important - an aluminum roof. It was a small camper that suited how I wanted to RV at that time. Thor bought the company, livinlite, that made Camplite. Camplite had aluminum cabinets and a unique look. Thor changed the cabinets to wood, along with other changes to make Camplite look just like other conventional campers. Then Thor discontinued this line. I still have my Camplite, but I can't go back to the factory. It really is a shame. I hope Tiffin has a better outcome with Thor. David and Brenda, I wish you a Merry Christmas, and I hope that 2021 will be a much better year for you. My husband and I are self isolating, waiting for our opportunity to get vaccinated, as are you. David, I am keeping you in my thoughts and prayers for a complete recovery. My husband and I met you in New York, and perhaps we will meet on the road again sometime.

I don’t blame him one moment for his decision to sell out. But for me, I’m very nervous to be a part of Thor. I’ve said I’ll never be involved with Thor again. (Never say Never). Time will tell. Unfortunately there is history of Thor buying companies and let them run as is for a while and then before long quality starts to dip. For example DRV. Oh, New Horizons Fifth wheels are still family owned. And yes, if we were looking for a new motorhome RIGHT NOW we would look at Tiffin, in a year from we will have to see, it take a bit for a car to vier off the road when you take your hands off the wheel.

I saw you mentioned the other night about 90+ emails on Michaels live stream and was wondering when you were going to say something. Always good to wait until the dust settles and look at it at multiple angles. I have a brand new 2021 Tiffin that rolled out of paint in October and already have a list of things to be fixed. Theater chairs not secure (stripped out screws and it tipped forward) too pieces of tape holding a vent cover in place. When we head up north will be going to Red Bay to have these things addressed. I am still confident it will be fixed like it would have been fixed when its just Tiffin. You only worry about things when you start to hear. Thor wont fix that or Thor refused something.

Merry Christmas, Congrats to the Tiffin family, they worked hard to get where they are at to sell their company. The Tiffin customer service is where they stand out, I don't believe that will be changing anytime soon. As far as Tiffin's quality they are no better or no worse then the REV Group family of coaches, or Newmar, or Jayco/Entegra Coach, again customer service is where they stand out. It could be a postive for Red Bay area and their work force Thor Inc. in the Elkhart and sourding area are just about maxed out.
I think Bob sees the writing on the wall for the RV industry for the next four or more years due to new federal government energy and economic policies. Bob went to Thor not the other way around. I hope I’m wrong as we have a 2019 Tiffin Red 37pa that we live full time. We don’t want to leave this lifestyle but if fuel skyrockets in price or supply becomes unstable we could be left with a worthless RV.

Really depends on the brand and the name. When Thor bought Damon they rebranded them as Thor. When they bought Airstream they kept the name because of the brand. With Bob still at the helm I agree that I don't see Tiffin changing.
The real worries will be for potential buyers down the road.. For those of us with an RV already, Our concerns will be RED BAY !!! I watched your video and agreed with a lot of comments you made about the sale. I have also read a lot of the comments posted with this video. And most have never been owners of RV’s from Companies that are owned by Thor Industries. All I can say as an Entegra owner and have had 2 Entegra’s since the Thor purchase (2016) it has been positive for us and Entegra. They have introduced 6 new floor plans since Thor purchase along with many new features in just over 4 years. This only takes capital. And Thor Industries can raise capital a lot easier than Bob Tiffin. So for all you naysayers take a deep breath, the sky is not falling.
Horrible news, we planned to move up to a tiffin in 2-3 yrs..To corporations the bottom line is ultimately the bottom line. And history tells us quality family manufacturing sold to monopolies turn to mud, not gold. Quality always suffers in the end. Poop!
You can sugar coat it and all that but at the end of the day this is not a good thing for Tiffin owners/fans. If you liked most things about Tiffin then the last thing you want is a major change. Yes, the family will still be working there but it will be different. Not at first, but over time it will be obvious and not in a good way. Family businesses have a way of dealing with their customers and products that large corporations simply cannot duplicate. Does this mean that Tiffin won't still sell a great motorhome? No, they will probably still sell a great motorhome, but it most likely would have been even better and, certainly, the service would have been better, had the Tiffin family not cashed in.

Two plus years later, it looks as though Van and Leigh taking bigger roles in the company is more adverse than Thor's take-over.

Well Tiffin had already began to show a decline in Quality....so I knew they were about to go...considering Newmar had sold out.
