    • @UltimateTechHub
      @UltimateTechHub  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      That ehternet port you want to connect to your router has a wire that goes somewhere in your house. Usually a network panel or box. That area is where your router should be and that ethernet wire needs to connect to the routers LAN port. I hope that helps. Interesting video, however, Ethernet patch cords contain multi-strand conductors. These should never be connected to punch-down terminals which are designed for solid copper conductors. A better and simpler way may have been to put a plate on both sides of the wall and fitted both keystone plates with modular couplers connected together inside the wall with a short patch cord. Also, should have made the plate level with the adjacent plates.

    Quick question instead of having the open mount shown could you have 2 female wall ports?
    For example if one of the cables ends up going bad because of various reasons you would need to redo the entire cable alternatively if you have 2 female ports the wire is 100% in the wall. You would need an ethernet cable to go from the wall to the router but it should still work right?

    I'm planning to have an installation done and cabler is going to be using something like that standard cable between the length of 40 m (131 ft) to 50 m (164 ft) That's gotta be a standard indoor Cat6 cable right Can you use that for outdoor installation given that cable is placed inside a conduit for roughly about 10 m (32 ft) because part of the installation is going to be outdoor above ground strung up by roof overhang level According to electrician cable installer conduit is able to protect (length part of cable exposed outdoor) from direct UV rays or sunlight and various temperatures changes so cable maintains maximum performance

Even run some cat6a to your kitchen and your back patio. If you plan on installing PoE security cameras then run cat6 to each corner of your house where you will install the cameras. The other ends of these cat6 cables will all go to one location called the network panel. This will have your modem, router and switch. Good video! Some advice - keep the twist going into the wall jack. Slightly untwist the cable pair where it needs to be separated & push it down with your fingers, before punching it down. The closer the twist of the 4x pairs is to the metal termination point, the better & more professional the work will be. A good cable certifier may not pass your current runs. The twist provides some basic shielding from external interference.

      This is all some ridiculous stuff made for massive runs in LARGE buildings, like hotels, or something with offices, etc. This is a commercial thing. You lose speed when you run cable distances that simply DO NOT HAPPEN in a residential house for the most part. Unless you live in a 3000+ sqft house, which let's face it, most of us don't, and are routing it to the other side of the house, then it really won't matter. I have installed Cat6 through 150ft and I still got 97% of speed. The average length of running a cable through the attic all the way to the other side of the house is about 50ft of cable. You'll get almost zero speed drop. Don't buy into this commercial bs where you lose speed, because it is just that, commercial and doesn't have an impact on our speed in residential, low length run lines.
