    Thank you for the answer.
    I rather wanted to say, what is the dimension for a wall block made (width x height x depth)?
    How much earth, lime and aggregates did you use for this wall block (kilos or tonnes)?

    This is really beautiful, what mixture of sand and cement did you use. What kind of sand did you use? Did you use any dye?

    • @HafizAbass
      @HafizAbass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Thank you. We didn't use any color pigments in the walls. Just different laterites(gravel) and river sand. Only the test cylinder shown in the last part we added some color pigments. We might consider adding some color for the main project. Maybe for some aesthetics.

      @@HafizAbass looks awesome. Any cement for stabilizer or coating on the outside or just pure earth since you are in drier region? Keep up the great work!

    • @HafizAbass
      @HafizAbass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      @@tfregin1 We did add about 8-10 percent cement and a waterproofing admixture. We are using these walls as test to see how they perform against the raining season.... The northern part of Ghana has only one major raining season which is mostly heavy rains for about 3-4 months so stabilization is necessary.

      @@HafizAbass Are you going to use this as a perimeter wall or for a home construction? Just wondering if a slightly longer roof overhang would mitigate the rain issue.

    • @HafizAbass
      @HafizAbass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@kentm8052 The wall in this particular video is a perimeter wall.. As you can see, the top most piece is a concrete capping. We hope that will suffice. Time will tell I guess. I will definitely do some follow up videos on how they stand the raining season.

    What’s your mix ratio ? Soil sand cement what layer of lifts ? Material was it transported in ? Or local and sizes of materials? Looking to build in Fiji remote like this with villagers off grid.. your video is just man hours.

    • @HafizAbass
      @HafizAbass  2 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      We're using 10% cement. Soil is laterite sieved with a 10mm net to get out debris. Laterite is sourced from a nearby quarry about 20km away. Layers are 15cm rammed down to 10 but there is variations to create a wave-like look. We also used laterites with a little color variation.

      In this particular movie we were building the front facing of a fence wall. The bigger project is a lodge/resort. Not everything will be built with rammed earth though. It's a 2-3 years project. Work is currently ongoing.
