I recommend watching the videos of Mr. SCOTT ROBERTSON if you wish to better these sorts of geometrical drawings; Mr. ROBERTSON offers advice which can be applied to all sorts of three-dimensional drawings.

When filling in the color, it spills into the rest of the screen. I cannot find an opening anywhere. Is there a trick to find where the problem is?

It might be because the shape was not sealed. There was some leakage on the connecting point of lines or the lines too thin. Also the threshold might be too high. Do I make sense?
