Nice review! I collect both lines but ended up going with the ML version and added a custom soft goods hoodie. Got the ripped wired one from Bestlee also and it looks great honestly. The best of both worlds cause I personally like the bulkier build of the ML.
Your points on the marvel legends are exaclty why I went with the mafex. ML looks too "cartoony" or toylike to me. The overly bulky lower arms and HUGE hands and feet are goofy looking. Plus im not a fan of the bulky looking crop top hoodie. still a cool figure and a way cheaper option. But man mafex looks so good
I think ML one is better for the price. ML can do pretty much what a mafex can do with a much cheaper price. In terms of accessories, its not necessary for me because I can use another spidey's from mafex, bandai... you can never use all of those accessories on one figure. Mafex is still a good choice, it's a high-end item, but for playability in reality, I'll go for ML one.
Great comparison! A lot of people don’t realize how much a game changer the articulated neck and shoulder joints are. Mafex definitely looks more natural.
Mafex is more of a luxurious item for me like if you want a really nice smooth figure for collection get mafex but if you want for everyday use and pocket figure to “play” I’d go ML since they are more sturdy and you dont have to be as delicate as with mafex. Or GET both one for shelf pose and smooth articulation and ML for pocket figure also I’d say you can maybe mid neck on ML and give it a soft goods vest and your at 95% mafex quality for still like half the price
@@brandofigure Most people do. Some mafex figures are literally predisposed to breaking at a certain part like carnage arm. Scarlet spiders legs lost goes on. Mafex is cool and all but the legs get worn out over time especially if u pose them frequently
Imo mafex are over priced, muscle tone very basic and dull, very fragile, looks like cheap plastic, limited paint applications, some of the accessories are unnecessary, I'm not justified by paying 4x the amount for 1 figure that delivers about the same quality. But just my opinion, nice comparison!
Mafex limited paint application? Mafex paints and subtly shades everything. Hasbro just molds everything in colored plastic. Have you actually held a mafex? Just curious because the plastic quality is vastly superior to hasbro.
I personally really like the ML body more muscular sculpt. I chose ML over mafex cause the mafex 3x price tag just didn’t justify it. But for some characters like magneto and gambit, I bought mafex one 🫶

ML just looks weird. Don’t like the proportions of that one all that much. Mafex is much better, plus the head articulation is better.

That’s one of the reasons why I put Mafex at the top. It’s so important to look all the way up for some nice crawling/crouching poses.

Mafex may look great but that only lasts a few weeks before damn thing starts to fall apart and break.
Really? All my Mafex figures never broke. Granted, I treat them as if they’re made of glass. 😅
