Spring in Ireland | Easter Celebrations | Artist Studio | How I Create

- April has greeted us with some much needed sunshine. The garden is blooming, the studio is busy, and the days are getting longer. It can only get better from here on in.
It's Easter weekend, which means plenty of rest, tending to the garden, and of course chocolate eggs! I remember when I was a child, Easter was such a big celebration; few days off school, plenty of mass services, and a row of Easter eggs and movies to enjoy. Today, it's a more relaxed affair, and the row of eggs has been replaced by a couple at the very most.
Today, I take you on a walk around the farm with Mr Pup, some chats with the cows, enjoy a delightful display of spring flowers, and spend some time with me in the studio making little treasures. In the afternoon let’s go for a wander and a spot of lunch at my old favourite; Florence Court estate. I have always felt an affinity to this place, something so familiar and comforting that I just couldn't understand.
I've been recently doing some family history research and while investigating the origins of my surname, I stumbled upon a surprise. Corcoran was originally a prominent ecclesiastical name originating from the vicinity of Lough Erne, Co. Fermanagh. It began as the clan; Ó Corcráin, and is derived from the Gaelic word for purple 'Corcair'. While searching historical maps of Irish names, I discovered that the Corcorans occupied an area where Florence Court stands today. They were long gone before the estate was established in the 18th century, as the Ulster Plantations and subsequent Cromwellian invasion had forced the majority of the native Irish clans to the south of Ireland. It completely fascinated me, to think that innate connection is still there, passed down through hundreds of generations through shared DNA. A unique and intriguing fingerprint to the ancient past.

Gillian, vous avez eu une idee de génie, ne pas vous montrer, ni parler! Pourquoi ? Si la femme qui apparaît dans le médaillon c'est vous, il y aurait une dispersion de l'attention, je m'explique, cette femme est d'une grande beauté, comme la jolie brune guide touristiquesur les émissions chaine TV irlandaise elle est tellement charmante que parfois on ne regarde pas autour d'elle !

@@LostForest Gillian, j'ai Toujours rêvé de rencontrer une Reine ( Lancelot, Guenièvre , la table ronde et les Chevaliers templiers ont alimentés mon enfance, j'ai été élevé par grand père, officier d'artillerie il m'a appris le sens profond du mot honneur et ce qui s'y rattachent,tout en m'interdisant la carrière militaire. Donc servir une Reine, qui plus est des 🧚🧚🧚🧚🧚est la quasirealisation de ma vie! Rêvez vous toujours de votre boutique ? Je présume que vous avez pas mal d'idées en tête, j'ai compris comment vous concevez. J'ai quelques compétences de conception ,j'ai 1 ou 2 idées ,si vous vous sentez prête, un jour futur nous pourrions peut être en parler, primordial le lieu! Je crois savoir le décor souhaité par vous il y a des ébauches dans certaines de vos visites dans vos videos ! Je vous livre un premier brouillon, vos compétences d'architecture vont vous aider. La base de mon brouillon
la petite librairie et l'ancienne laverie un'melting pot des 2 pierres et boiset espace ambiance chaleureuse et lumineuse mais a taille humaine, quand j'écrivais mes chroniques , il me fallait toujours réécrire le texte10 fois avant d'avoir a livrer au journal une copie satisfaisante dont je n'étais jamais totalement satisfait,la place était compté, mais parler MUSIQUE me rends lyrique.
Bref si vous me trouvez outrecuidant n'hésitez pas à le dire , j'ai confiance dans votre jugement.( Peu de détente après le sérieux

It’s from an Irish company, but I wouldn’t recommend as the structure had to be rebuilt a second time due to leaking and poor construction. Thankfully the second rebuild saved it from further decline 🙌☘️
@@LostForest it looks lovely I have a summer house but the timber round the windows rotted they replaced them but I'm thinking they will probably go again
Yes the same thing happened to mine, and the second windows I sealed the wood as much as I could, but with the damp Irish climate, I think it’s always going to happen, but hard wood for window frames would definitely be a better choice for longevity ☘️☺️

It’s based on the original concept of my jewellery, where the Lost Forest is a place in one’s imagination, and not everyone can see it, but it appears to those who appreciate nature, and there they find the treasures (my jewellery) as they pass through the forest on their adventures ☘️✨☺️
