    Great Tutorial! Only shame is the glare over the display screen, makes it hard to see what you are selecting over there. Otherwise this was helpful!

    I’m a guitarist, looking to branch out into the electronic side of music production. Not really a DAW kind of person, so checking out grooveboxes. Would you say the electribe works better with live guitar than the circuit?

    Great work Gabe !!!
    I want to add my thoughts as a former owner of the Electribe since I see people thinking of buying it,
    You need to have your expectations set,
    It is a very intuitive tool, you have to program your sounds and the control on this thing is great,
    The big caveat I have is that is has a big “bug” which is that if you used multiple patterns in one song the sound tends to cut out when it switches patterns.
    Now, there are some very talented composers like mistabishi that know how to overcome this,
    But I think the average user will find this frustrating.
    I loved this thing very much but once I started to push its limits I started getting frustrated, and eventually sold it, bought an iPad and Korg Gadget 2 plus some other of the synths you can get for it and I can honestly say that it’s just absolutely brilliant.
    I don't say don't buy the electribe, you can learn a lot from it, just sharing my experience as what the "next step" after it could be

      I'm a novice on the electribe and I haven't had the issue on cut out when changing patterns. I have the blue one so maybe it was something that was resolved.
      Great device though. Loving it.

    Gabe could you do an overall tutorial for this machine? I find it very hard to use, but I love the sounds

    Yayyy! Thanks for listening to my request! Loved it :) I have the sampler version, but I believe you didn't use anything the sampler hasn't got, so I will try to do my synthwave track inspired by your tutorial!

    Do you have an electribe 2s?
    If yes, could you make a video on how to sample with it.

    Great tutorial, great track. I've just decided to get the circuit, but this has me thinking maybe I should get the electribe after all :P I like the Circuits synth engine and the capabilities more, but man this hands on sound design aspect of the Electribe is great. Guess I'll just have to get the circuit and an electribe next year :)

      RedMeansRecording has a very nice patch pack (Circuit Pack 2) to play with. Also, you could look into Isotonik to build your own patches on the PC. I have both and I like the immediacy and how quick you get your melody and beats into the Circuit more. Electribe has 16 tracks though...(and could work as your first 'brain' to drive your synths). They are quite different in a lot of areas, but both let you realize your ideas (Circuit is quicker at that, Electribe allows for more complex setups)

    Amazing video! Great teaching. Kinda sad, to have the lightrays across the display ;)
    I've been thinking about adding a Electribe 2 (Sampler) or the Model:Samples to extend my 1 device setup (only Circuit so far). Would you recommend that ?
    Or go with a monosynth or something entirely different? I feel like i "need" a second instrument next to the Circuit and can't really say why...

    • @Yuzuki1337
      @Yuzuki1337 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      The circuit can do sampling quite well on it's own, so I'd rather go for the Synth version of the Electribe 2. :)

    • @freejay6091
      @freejay6091 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@Yuzuki1337 thanks for the input! will take it into consideration. Because after all the synth version has more "knob-per-function" usability?

    • @Yuzuki1337
      @Yuzuki1337 4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@freejay6091 As far as I am understanding the difference between them is that the Synth has more synth engines and audio effects compared to the Sampler version, so you just have deeper options to create your own sound. Again sampling cane be done well on the Circuit so it's only upside. Also no idea if it's the same for your location but the Synths are like 50 bucks cheaper than the Sampler versions where I live so that might also be a relevant factor. :)

    • @GabeMillerMusic
      @GabeMillerMusic  4 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad you dig it! Yeah, I wish I had noticed the light while filming.
      If you want something that goes WITH the Circuit, a synth like the MicroFreak or Minilouge would serve you very well. Or, if you want a completely separate production station that is different enough from the Circuit, the Electribe Synth version is a great option.

    • @freejay6091
      @freejay6091 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@GabeMillerMusic
      Yes, I think I would like to go into that performance setup rather than production capabilities (which doesn't have to exclude one another). At least in my head that would mean "WITH" the circuit.
      Thanks a ton! I have a Keystep, so if theres a Minilogue without keys?
      Bottom line: you'd recommend a polyphonic synth with loads of knobs and modulation possibilities ?
      ...Yet it does not have the FX which the Electribe would offer.
