Clint, this was so informative. I have an app on my phone that is tamboura. I could not figure out what ma and pa meant and with all the choices given i still find it a bit confusing. I have just listened by ear and fluted to what I thought syncs with the music
@@ClintGoss Thanks Clint, I'll see if I can find it. And now I'm searching for where to buy a good "real" Tamboura/Tanpura, very intrigued with the sound and would love to add that instrument to my collection!
Agreed, this does sound really great with a native american flute. They seem to work beautifully together.💜💜💜
Beautiful sounding backing instrument! Dynamic, yet soothing.
That sound is why I picked up a "Baby Sitar" (an Electric Guitar made by Danelectro) for my Musical Tool Box. Love it!
Love this episode, thank you Clint Goss.
How wonderful Clint, your content always brings me joy. 🙏
Really interesting stuff, Clint. Thanks for sharing.

In googling Tamboura I keep seeing the spelling as tanpura.
Thanks ... just updated the description of this video to include that alternate spelling. तानपुरा in Hindi!
Thanks Clint, this is great! You wouldn't happen to have a recommendation for a good Tanpura DAW plugin, would you?
I do use the drone plugin by Suonopuro (Gino Chimenti, based in Italy).
