I just wanted to thank you guys for all this awesome information over the last few years. It's definitely helped me learn and understand a lot and I am now working with Washington state's fish & wildlife trying to fix the mistakes that we made 10 to 15 years ago by putting antler restrictions in in our only high-quality BLACKTAIL deer unit! Learning about hydrating the bloodlines and punishing the young deer and letting the crappy genetics go SO THANK YOU
3:33 first kiss in 7th grade? Shit i had my first kiss in kindergarten and got married in the log cabin on the play ground in first grade. Lasted 2 years 😂
PGC could take some notes; buy more land to incorporate into the game lands system, select areas to have limited hunting for older class of deer, work with landowners with doe harvests. PA is doing things better than most, but there are always adjustments that can be made to improve. Keep having the conversations guys, educating people will only help everyone!
We have some big improvements to still make. That said some of the new proposals are stupid and asking for issues. Mainly the under 7 don’t need a tag transferred to them, that’s got a lot of 4 year old kids killing bucks (by dad)
@@HUNTRPOD The PGC could bump license costs to achieve an incentive for harvest reporting, an incentive to control predators and to purchase more land. More accurate information for biologists and more accountability for hunters - in response to the tagless system for little kids. Predator control and land acquisition are both something everyone agrees is needed. I'm happy to purchase a license, they're a bargain for the R.O.I.
I am so sick of the adds every 3 minutes I like the podcast but dam it’s like watching a tv series wait next week we will talk about the rest of the cast
As a native Texan that’s been in Mississippi for about 8 years. I get more fulfillment from public land hunting than I ever did on a lease in Texas. The Midwest can say what they want but I’m telling yall, Mississippians are shooters and some of the best hunters I’ve been around. Mississippi fails in many categories BUT the outdoors? They do it right
I really wonder how that actually works as far as getting results go. Especially if those guys have an incentive to “see” deer to end up getting more tags. Lol
I will say that here in Northeast Arkansas they’ve rutted and are starting to hit food hard. It’s wild hearing about how late the rut is for some states.
@@jordanhudson5075I grew up in Harrisburg lol. Not very far from you at all. Man I have some family land over in Weiner and there is the best buck activity there that I’ve seen anywhere. Granted I’ve just been hunting for a few years. But it is wild. Early season in Pocahontas I have seen a lot of activity too. Mostly does there. I’ve tried this year on some public and mostly chase my tail lol. I still have a lot to learn as far as that goes.
Years ago a buddy and i hunted properties 6 miles apart straight line distance. We had the same buck on camera on alternating days and sometimes the same day fro August untill he was killed in November
I don’t know how they know 80% of our buck harvest is 3 year olds and older when don’t have tags or mandatory reporting on private land. The bag limit is literally on the honor system.
If you are willing to see a giant cottonmouth 10” from your throat when the sun rises n your tree stand or getting treed by wild dogs and hogs and turning around and having a 200lb solid black puma 10 yards from you come on down. If you’re it willing to risk life and limb for a deer or turkey MS is decent. Oh don’t forgot about the smothering mosquitoes in late December.
Haha dude I remember in January, wading thru to get back to a piece that sat high above the flood waters. And I look over and see what I thought was a beaver…no cottonmouth swimming right at me. Had flashbacks of Anaconda 😂
Man, this is depressing to listen to as a Louisiana resident. Our wildlife department doesn't do anything. They raised the crap out of our licenses and gave themselves raises and more vacation.
Don’t beat yourself up it’s most states. I picked Mississippi because I worked closely with that state and know how great they are. BUT other states should take note it’s possible to do great things and accomplish the states goals too
Everything should be hunt companion. Hunt companion is you, is me, it’s all of us. A way of life. Hunt companion. But seriously, looking forward to this. I’m in Northeast Arkansas and any advice on the south I’ll take!
Don't have to act like your an idiot the sole reason I haven't watched Lately just let Jeremy talk he's got a clue what he's talking about only 30 minutes in and I'm out

Love it, glad there is a state that is listening to the hunters, and cares about the resource.
Spot on

Damn straight
They have this so wrong we do not have a tag system at all it’s an honor system and most people are not honest they only report what they want to.
I really wonder how that actually works as far as getting results go. Especially if those guys have an incentive to “see” deer to end up getting more tags. Lol
@@PlumbingArkansas man people from Mississippi report deer for bragging rights 😂😂 they don’t say a word about them spikes and 2 year old bucks

How insane is thay
Bro walked right into that short bus comment
Damnit I did
To be fair you flat out shit on the south.
When or miles talks about chasing 115 inch bucks in the swamp you said “why bother”.
My part of MS they have bigger yes but 115” buck is a good buck
I mean I spent a lot of years hunting Mississippi. The south is tough! But you got to love it

Dmap data from about a million acres which does include some public stuff
Haha, he didn't mention LA when naming state's doing a good job with DMAP.
Do they? Not familiar with them as much

As a Mississippian, i can unfortunately tell you tons of young bucks get harvested here.
Just like everywhere but sure seems like some things are done right
Please get Chad Stewart back on and talk about Michigan. You guys were too easy on him last time, I’m begging you 😂
Haha Chad will do it! I just have to gather my thoughts to have a good conversation
