Got the link to your videos from the Chip’s latest update email! My dad and I have been all 3 (and now 4th upcoming) years as well, and we stayed in the same cabin that you and your brother are in here back in 2021 for the first year of the event. Beautiful view of Bear Butte from the front door, and we made some lifelong friends at the adjacent cabins that we’ve been riding with every year. Hope to see you there this year!
CFMOTO 800 here in Australia has the same fuelling issues. Running 95 fuel helped. Sealing the air filter properly helped. Throttle reset helped. Software update helped. All fixes helps the fuelling issue but never gets rid of it completely. The twitchy throttle doesn’t let you coast along without that surging feeling. After nearly two years of dealing with it in the hopes that a better software update will be released, that never happened, I sold the bike. It’s a shame because the bike has a lot to offer. But CFMOTO need to focus on the bikes they have already released and fix issues. But instead they are only looking at their next range of bikes. The reason why I didn’t buy the upcoming 450 they are releasing soon.
Okay, time for a reunion PLZ! And yes I have been in a cave - google airmans cave in Austin. I crawled it with a group of friends in college. idk if i'd do it now...but I was wild enough back then that I thought it was a good idea lol
I like the bit about "packing our fears." I hadn't heard it before, but it makes sense, especially when I looked into the context of backpacking where it seems to have originated. My first moto-camping trip, I had a massive military-issue rucksack (think the ones they issued in the late 2000s, not the smaller green Vietnam-era ones) and both saddlebags stuffed full for two nights away from home. I've added the Pioneer Mountain Scenic Byway and Coolidge to my travel wishlist, but they're a good 1200 miles away and I'll probably have to wait a little while until I can take the time. This weekend, I'm headed east to watch the solar eclipse, and I'm planning to stop at Carlsbad Caverns in the way and tour the Big Room. Already got my timed entry ticket!
The cfmoto800mt has another model called the adventura which has the throttle response fix and 6 ride modes, upgraded suspension and a host of other features for about 1500USD more.
Oh, FYI I bought a ticket to Rocky Mountain Roll again. Hopefully I won't blow a tire and almost die again this year. Lol Might even ride the chopper for the 5000+ mile trip just to prove it's not a bar hopper.😊
My Buddy has that stove and we use it on a lot of Moto Trips. Really nice when you have 4 people or more. Easy to carry on a GS1200 Adventure too. Glad to see Brother on a Trip with you again. That Guy is Cool!
lol I mean the Buh-dupe definitely makes it better lol but not required. I'm still a little too early in my dehydrated meal journey to tell anyone how to do it I think lol BUT I will just put this here lol www.freshoffthegrid.com/dehydrated-chili-mac/
Great video Amanda and Gary!! So glad to see you two. I have so missed your videos since you are my favorite TH-camr. And yes I have been in a cave. That stove looks pretty awesome. What’s the price?
Another great video Amanda. It was awesome getting to meet you and Gary at Get On ADV Fest 2023! While I can't make this years I know you and everyone who does will have a great time.
Glad to see that Whit is still riding even though she hasn't posted in a while! Her channel was my introduction to Wisconsin when I moved "south" from North Dakota. Hopefully she'll share some more adventures.
Glad to see you are back posting trip, videos. I imagine you have been very busy with all your projects. I really enjoy your content and yes I have been a few caves. The craziest one is the ice cave just west of Flagstaff. Keep the content coming and Hopefully our paths will cross.
really nice video, I really like the landscapes you go through, so different from Italy. Then the possibility of camping more freely is definitely more fun! Nice new stove, although it is really big!
I love having a 2 burner stove but I do have a trailer. Great video. In 2022 I visited both the Mark Twain Caves and Mammoth Cave... historical and awesome, awesome, awesome!
I was going to say I can’t believe I didn’t run into you there. But, my group of 3 rode past you on day 3 just after you got that bike out of the mud. I didn’t realize you were in that group. Sadly 😢, I wont be able to make any tour events this year. Ride safe this summer and say hi to Gary for me.
You're a great photographer. I started watching your videos so I can learn your technique, but now I watch for entertainment. You can really capture the moments along the way and keep your videos interesting to the very end. Nice work! I'm looking forward to meeting you at your gathering this summer. BTW, that Jet Boil stove would be perfect in my tiny 2-door Jeep that I'm in the process of setting up for some 4-wheeled camping trips, but not for my DR650 :)
As the Magpie Flies !!!! AMANDA!!!! Glad to see this. Where have you been? I also saw Staci, Jess and of course Gary. Excellent video! I hope to see more soon. 👍👍👍👍👍
Cool video Amanda! You're inspiring me to go motocamping again. And yes, I venture in as many caves as I can. I love them! 😃 Keep up with these awesome vids, hopefully Australia has a ADV Fest at some point 😎
Agree with your brother about wisdom, wiseriver area. Spent a lot of time there even used to fish the creek running through the battle field before they stopped it.
Yes, many, many caves, both land-based and underwater, as a dive master in my younger wild days. The most recent cave-like tunnel was The Belly of the Dragon near Mt Carmel, Utah last October.
@@AstheMagpieFlies Yes, you need good control over your breathing and movements. The slightest flick of your "flippers" can stir up silt. The same skills are needed for wreck diving. Its dark, small space, like a labyrinth, and often deep deep and dark. But ever so fun and rewarding.
Great new vid. Can't wait for the next. Caves! Ruggles mine as a kid. Polar caves. White mountains New Hampshire. And stopped at Skyline Caverns while riding the Blue Ridge parkway in Front Royal, Virginia a couple years ago.
@@AstheMagpieFlies Ah. Okay. I should have waited to reply until I watched the entire video. I love ghost towns too. I'm from Washington. If you haven't already done so, check out Bodie and Molson Washington. Very cool ghost towns!
I think Suzuki should set up Brother with their new VStrom for your all's adventures this summer. You all could do some great comparison/review content.
Yes I have been in caves. There are several tourist attractions in the White Mountains that you can walk through, Lost River and Polar Caves. I don't fit anymore but went through a few times as a kid. Also found a few while out hiking the White Mountains, just have to look out for bears...
I am a very poor (financial, mc skills & camping skills) person. All the cool, small, light weight stuff is really expensive. I use an 80L and a 60L plus my side cases to carry things. I love watch you do the travels RIGHT!
Give it time and you will end up packing way more ridiculous stuff. I have packed 2 bicycles to the bicycle shop in one trip. Also one 800 mile ride I packed an entire BSA chopper frame on the back with an AK 47 tucked between the frame rails, wrapped for discretion of course. 😆
I am from Ohio, of course, I have been in a cave and I was UT last summer so I was in a cave and a slot canyon too. Stoked that you are back but now the big question is, will you be at The One Moto Show again? Hey it’s Dan! He let me ride his DR650 at the event and is now why I own one! 😅
😂 The DR650 is a cult bike for a REASON lol

Man I don't think I would crawl into a cave, lol I like all the nice tour/walkway business in the National Parks units lol

I absolutely loved seeing you and brother out on an adventure. It's been way too long. Looking forward to seeing what you have in store for 2024!

There's an easy fix for the jerky throttle on the Ibex, so it is being dealt with.
We rode these back in July, but it's good to hear it's getting fixed!
Glad to hear it's being addressed. Other than that it's a great bike.

The last cave I was in was very narrow and claustrophobic... it's appropriate named Fat Man's Misery lol. It's in Collingwood Ontario
oh my goodness, that sounds way more claustrophobic than I'd like lol
