  • Ask me questions about surviving your Ph.D program, choosing an advisor, choosing a career path, whether it's academia or industry! I read every comment and I'm here to help!

Could you share your plans after graduation. Academia or industry?

Hey! I actually graduated in Dec 2017 and work now in industry. I thought about post-doc, national lab, or industry and decided on the latter. Do you have any questions about my decision process?

It depends on your field, but the bay area has a lot of options in industry. If you are keen on an academic position, a post-doc is your best bet. If you are interested in an academic level research position but not academia, maybe a national lab is a good idea. Industry has a little bit of everything depending on your field. Maybe I should make a video about this!

If you could go back in time, would you do it all over again?

During the program this would have been very hard to answer. But now I'd say: absolutely. It doesn't hurt that I met the love of my life at Cal 😉
