Brilliant guide. Love the bold colour choice for brass.....Brass 😊. I hear what makes a true army painter is the ability to shade 3 models a minute in any weather.
I've never really been into table top gaming, it's always been either video games/sims. Watching the games night vids and then the painting tutorials makes all of it seem waaaay less intimidating and a lot of fun. I might pick up some redcoats and paint them this christmas :D
Fantastic! Tbh it seems overwhelming at first, lots of minis, games and opinions. Best thing to do is do what you want at your pace, winner! Pleased you enjoyed the battle and the paint guide 😍👍
I have not done this for the last 40-45 years and I miss it. Never was up to this standard, absolutely love it and I love the process you use. Outstanding and a new subscriber for when I need to chill.
Bloody hell. Between watching the games night, then this... and now the first two seasons of Sharp...I find myself now walking around the bloody house... Picking up all the pennies I can find...proclaiming in my thickest Yorkshire accent to each one... "choosen men" while I wait for my box of "British Riflemen" to be delivered. 10/10 sir. Keep the vids coming! 3 shots a minuite!
(5:00) "mix some dark brown into there as well just for a bit of transition so it's not too STARK" I see what you did there! NED-er would've seen that coming!
"Chosen men? I didn't choose you!" I'd never considered super gluing flock! I used white glue as a kid, switched to green paint later, and now I use matt varnish. Really enjoyed seeing the Napolionics painted.
'We have two ears and one mouth so that we can listen twice as much as we speak' - Epictetus Peachy casually throwing out one of my favourite ancient Stoic quotes - so much love right.now! ❤ Also happy birthday for today Geoff! 🎉
This couldn't be better timed for me. Finally decided, after hearing Peachy talk about it many many times, to watch Sharpe. 3 episodes yesterday while at work now a painting guide.
I don't usually watch painting guides, but having heard Peachy outline his philosophy recently I wanted to check out at least one. And the chance to support a "not GW stuff" video seemed like the right choice. What I've learnt: basically, my normal painting process is Peachy's "tabletop ready" approach, so that's somewhat validating (and probably speaks to the fact that we both started this in the 90s); also Peachy does have a very good "presenter voice." Maybe a smidge fast for me, but I suppose that's a generational thing these days. Basing on pennies is awesome, and works all around the world... except that as a Canadian I have a finite supply, because eventually my penny jar will be empty and we stopped minting those horrible useless things over a decade ago. Ah, well, first world problems. Another thing I often do for figures with a molded in base like these is use a steel washer; in Canada a bulk pack of them works out to under 5 cents per (so more than a penny each but still inexpensive), the molded-on base covers the hole, and then you can put craft store magnets in the bottom of your storage box and have the figures be a little more secure. If the hole is too big, a little bit of cardstock can cover it up. Anyway, Pat's attempt at French was hilariously painful, and whoever worked up the title card from the BBC show deserves a raise, that was awesome. Honestly, my only complaint is that Peachy called Sharpe's Baker a musket! :D
What a great video! ..I have my own napoleonics been abit hesitant about the scheme involved..but peachy has just really shown me an incredible way to get them done to a great standard..feeling invigorated 💪🏼
@thepaintingphase I definitely will..not sure will be to the standard of yours. Especially the Scots man ..being Scottish myself I'd need to do that one justice 😂 but thanks for the inspiration and I look forward to watching more of your video tutorials. 👌
I LOVE this color scheme. I've been searching for a Cities of Sigmar color scheme for my own city. What color would the shields be do y'all reckon? Black with an Ivory center square? Edit: I was referring to Sean Bean's scheme. City of Beans led by Marshal Sean.
Fantastic battle report & Painting 👍 It looks like a mixture of Wargames Atlantic & Perry miniatures, but Where are the Spanish Guerrilla miniatures AND the buildings from ??? Would love to recreate some Sharpe adventures 😜
Bast***s I thought this was gonna be Sean Bean in Sharpre then Sean Bean painted up in LoTRs. Is he in model form for any other games? Great video guys. Love the intro. Keep up the content chaps. Would love a tour of the new studio.
“I’ve seen Sean Bean beat off the French many times” - Peachy, 2023
As if you need anything else to go watch the Games Night video
Hahaha! Initially I did say beating off a massive French column 😂👀
For those wondering where to get the Sean Bean model, it's built from the "British Riflemen" plastics by Wargames Atlantic!
So it’s not actually a Sharpe box 😅
@@MikeB-nn4nh Not officially, but it is.
To see Duncan and Peachy play a game of Napoleonics dressed as a Voltiger and a Rifleman is my new dream content.
I mean we could arrange that 👍
This is peak Peachy, don't think I've ever seen him THIS happy
Next challenge: A Sean Bean for every season.
Rifleman Peach looks suspiciously like Obadiah Hakeswill! Glad to see the TV series is still enjoyed. 👍
special rule: cant kill me
@@AssassinVgaming Says so in the Scriptures.
The pennies as bases is such a clever idea, once you fully based them they looked simple yet incredible, well done.on that
Painting a miniature of Richard Sharpe, now that's soldiering!
Peachy x Yogscast is just perfect 😩
Vive La Sharpé!
Got the notification for this and the game night video at exactly the same time!
Peak TH-cam hobby performance lol

Three a minute?
People can paint two on a good day. Think you can do better, @FacesNBases?

Wow...I was actually going to paint the new Wildercorps Warcry warband in this color scheme. Thanks for saving me the research time guys! 😄
Haha! You’re welcome Darcy, and I honestly can’t wait to see them 😘👌

omg he actually paints the Tartan !!

10/10 sir. Keep the vids coming! 3 shots a minuite!
Fantastic! I recently had to do that as I ran out of available pennies, but a trip to the post office soon sorted they 😂
I was not ready for the wave of nostalgia when the Sharpe theme hit.
(5:00) "mix some dark brown into there as well just for a bit of transition so it's not too STARK" I see what you did there! NED-er would've seen that coming!
can't believe Pat travelled all the way to Paris for ad footage, that's commitment
Thanks, Peachy! After watching this, and the batrep, I fired up my BritBox sub, and now both my wife and I are addicted to the show "Sharpe".
Yesss! Another Sharpe convert 🤣
Glad you enjoyed the vids and the show
MAJOR LENNOX ANSWERED WITH HIS LIFE!

Just watched the Games Night video with you and the yogs, can't wait to watch this now :D

Cracking job Peachy, these models pop so nicely👏. Great video ....ya bassterds
Using pennies for bases is amazingly simple but effective, that has kinda blown my mind.
Alright, well.. go on then. It's Sean Bean time! HYPE
Hahaha!

This was fantastic. That you all!
That ad😂. Bravo

Incredible video!!
That ending killed me that was perfect, the box hit just perfect😂 bravo!
Great video, inspired me and I’ve just bought 4 VPNs.
4:48 My favorite quote of that episode :)
The day has come!
Now that's soldiering!
You should stick him in a silver bayonet game, and you guys should be covering that game as well. It’s awesome!
The production value of this video has jumped. 2nd-unit in Paris? WOW!
Professional as always. 🖌

It's great to see a tartan tutorial! Which makes me think it's high time I finished my tartan-trousered Escher gang...

The Spanish guerrillas are Perry Carlist War metals.
And the scenery is scratch built from Dave Andrews

Sharpe!
I thought the chosen men wore grey uniforms. It turns out they wear the same green uniforms, they are just extremely weathered!
