Fun facts: Actually, driving in a straight line is the hardest thing you could do, in fact Jeremy Clarkson spun a car driving straight.
Even the great Ayrton Senna, his car would wiggle more than brazilians on carnival, he almost didn't drive straight during his career.

I think one can either master the straights or perfect one's cornering. A person racing most of the time around corners, chicanes where all the cars mostly keep in straight line would surely be baffled by huge, wide swarm of cars moving along the straight track.

It's quite interesting having an FIA race on a circuit where the last 3% is the only part of the race that actually matters.
In the age-old debate, Lambo vs Ferrari, one must simply look to the pinnacle of motorsport - Formula 1.
Ferrari has 2 very poor Formula 1 cars, and Lamborghini has 0 very poor Formula 1 cars, so the winner is quite obvious.
That is some Super GT humour right there - obviously not at all obvious!

if anyone wants to see this type of racing in real life, watch a NASCAR race at Daytona or Talladega
The one time I went to Talladega it was single file nearly the entire time and the race finished under a yellow flag.

SkippingRhyme No it was more recent than that. The ARCA races I went to were way more entertaining(closer to the track , more chaos etc. A car literally flew off turn 3 into the woods).I’m not saying every race at talladega is boring like that though. Oval racing isn’t really my thing anyways.

@@elbeto191291 On ovals us Yanks count the entry and exit as two separate corners. Makes sense because of how long the turns are, but then you get to a place like Pocono which marks itself as having only 3 turns for some reason.

The French battleships were sunk because a part of France gave up and collaborated with the Germans. Therefore these ships would basically fall into German hands. To avoid this the English gave them a choice. The ships would go with them back to England, or they would be blown to smithereens. The French chose the latter.
Something similar later happened in the war when the Italian battleships were moving to join the British after a part of Italy swapped to the allied side. These ships were sunk en route by german planes (also using some of the first guided missiles).

yeah the government gave up to germany and they feared some of the admirals would go with the germans. and the brits fired before the french really gave them an answer lol. the US also had to shoot at the french battleship jean bart other destroyers during operation torch at casablanca.
I've wanted to have a race like this in gt sport in the daily races. Something like nascar or indy 500 style race where silpstream is the key but unfortunately, i never saw one :/
This is in the daily races this week with GT40’s. Problem is, and looking for help here, bump drafting (either doing it or being bumped) caused my SR to plummet from a solid S to a B in one lap! Was I doing something wrong? I bumped once and saw SR arrow down, then proceeded to get “boosted” from a guy behind that would push me at every chance (I was not blocking) and my SR kept going down.

I think I find it sad to know that even doing something as easy as playing video games and uploading to TH-cam you still feel the "I wish I didn't have to work" feeling. I always thought I would love sitting on my ass uploading TH-cam videos of me playing video games all day, but at the end of the day I guess it's still work.
That said, I would much rather play video games all day than work my day job...

The fact that I watched that awful first "race", shows how much respect I have for Super GT, and how much I miss your regular videos Steve! Anyway cheers for the upload.
That race was so much like a Nascar Daytona or Talladega race. 2-3 wide lines, constantly pushing each other. There are tons of wrecks, it's so easy to go from 1st to 20th and back, and it's some of the most entertaining racing you'll ever see
So I was actually thinking about you yesterday. I am so glad you uploaded today!

Hate to be “that guy” but when you were referring to British sinking French ship during ww2 they were vici France ships which was a puppet of the third reich hence why they sunk French ships.

Yes, but also no. After the surrender, Vichy France was obligated to remain neutral, but didn't become actually occupied until 1942, during which Vichy France scuttled their navy to keep it out of German hands. The Mers-el-Kebir attack by the British was in 1940, against what was theoretically a neutral target that had been an ally, which ultimately proved to be a mistake as Vichy France retaliated for the attack, and then eventually scuttled their navy themselves, without it ever passing into the control of Nazi Germany.
In addition some of the attacks were against vessels that were trying to defect to Charles de Gaulle's faction.

used to do this type of races on gt6, was kinda fun because since everyone was driving between the nismo gt-r and the alfa romeo stradale (which for some reason was very good for long gears) what mattered was timing and generally skill rather than something else, meet some really cool people and we used to do rounds after rounds. had some good memories

That qualifying session reminds me of the old NASCAR group qualifying procedure where nobody wanted to leave pit road first because they wouldn't get the slipstream and their lap would be slower.
Not sure if someone has already said this, but this race was very similar to NASCAR races at Daytona (the oval) and Talladega. Really enjoyed the video, thanks!
They also do this in NASCAR too at the superspeedway's. Close to the end of the race sometimes they will get in a single file line like this and then everyone jumps out of line and tries to pass.
