This has been my main for a month. I have a college tennis background, but don’t consider myself a banger. I’m a hybrid of a QD style (for big drives) but mix in a lot of soft drops and try to have an more of a Ben Johns complete style of play. The greatest thing about this paddle is that while yes, it’s in the 75% for power and pop (per pickleball effects), you DO NOT HAVE TO MODIFY YOUR SWING MECHANICS. With all these other “power style” paddles, you really have to dumb down your mechanics, and with this paddle you don’t! So no it’s not a 90% percentile power and pop paddle, but it is top tier and you get that without sacrificing the time to change your game…that’s HUGE to me. No core crushing or anything like that in about a month of play 3-4x a week. Love this paddle. I have the weight in the same location and and started with .5g but then double it up on each side and put some weight in the handle, and I’m still at around only 8.4…
How's the face durability been? I have high school tennis background and have been playing pickleball consistently for around 5 months now. I've been using 6.0 DBD for the past 4 months and one side of the paddle face is completely smooth due to heavy topspin. Would you recommend the Olympus or any other paddles?
@@leroyjimkins3705 if you full swing and play aggressive, you would like this paddle. It’s not like a power paddle where you just touch the ball and it will fly…. Which is what’s nice. You access the power via a full normal swing. You don’t have to baby it. And then on the flip side, your soft game doesn’t struggle because the paddle is uncontrollable. My take is any fairly decent level tennis player would really like this paddle…. Face has been perfectly fine. I keep it clean with a paddle eraser and haven’t found any issues. I actually bought another one as a backup. I’m going to full time main the Olympus switching from my 11six24 Kevlar 14mm Hurache.
Been using this for a bit and I agree it is a great paddle, especially for someone that doesn't want a full power paddle but needs a little bit extra and doesn't want to sacrifice too much control. Separately, it's been really awesome to see your progression as a player through the gameplay videos, you guys have gotten really good!
This paddle is amazing. I agree 100% with your review. Great power with excellent feel and enough control to be aggressive with all aspects of my game.
I feel like Spartus’ Gladius and Ballista were a little underwhelming but both the Apollo and Olympus have been really good. Keep the great paddles coming Spartus! And keep these solid reviews!
I’ve been playing with the pickln alecto gen3 for the past few days, and I would describe it similarly to your description of the olympus. I can’t wait for a comparison between all these new gen 2.5/3 paddles being released.
Sounds like a great, we'll rounded option in the power category. I'm very surprised they were able to keep the SW so low with the foam filled face. Spartus keeps delivering excellent value in various categories.
After watching the All Drive No Drop podcast. Have you come up with your final lead/tungsten tape setup, I'm still unsure what is the ideal setup for it.
Thank you for the review. If not Olympus, what other power paddle would you suggest in the $150 price range for someone who always used the control paddle?
@@TickleMyPickleball I didn’t know. “Gen3 Pickln Alecto3: Kevlar Hybrid Thermoformed 16MM DynamoCore Pickleball Paddle - Thermoformed Control with Power” is this the Alecto you were referring to?
A guy was hitting the OLYMPUS and I really noticed the sound on impact. I didn't get a chance to play it to see if the sound related to a soft feel on dinks. Maybe the sound I noticed was from the foam type or even being very broke in.
I ordered mine yesterday after your review came out, since they only make 4 per day, anyone know roughly how long it takes to receive it? Christmas is coming early, thanks for your review!
How does this compare to HxC+? Hurache is supposedly All Court leaning power. Olympus is Power on the bottom tier. Are there similarities in feel, swing, spin, sweet spot?
Is the Olympus's "unique" feel anything like their Ballista's? I've been searching for something that has that dense, soft, springy Ballista feel and have never found a paddle that's come close.
No nothing at all like the Ballista. If you're looking for a springy feel, look for something with a throat hole. Vatic Alchemy, Selkirk Power Air, etc
I’m listening to you on 30% volume and hear you fine… talking louder on your end might make it more clear but people saying you’re whispering or aren’t talking loud enough are exaggerating.
This is one of my most anticipated paddles. I have the Apollo and love it, so glad to hear Spartus has another winner!

this is the same exact comment on all drive no drops channel lol

Looks great, can’t wait to see the Ripple now that your Flare review is out
Awesome bloopers

Is nobody going to mention the rice cooker at 0:12? LOL Great review of the Olympus. Saw a player with one at rec play and was intrigued
It’s an inside joke lol
That blooper reel! 👏
Nice review. This is going to be a hot paddle. Nice touch with the shoutout to Discord.
Great review! Seems like an awesome paddle. I'm surprised that the price isn't higher.
Looking forward to this and to the Ronbus Ripple.

Another great content and review, another hit from Spartus, will there be a 16mm version
Happy to try a new paddle.
The miss on the overhead… incredible. 😂😂😂

Right now just doing tungsten tape from 10 and 2 positions down the side
Thank you for the review. If not Olympus, what other power paddle would you suggest in the $150 price range for someone who always used the control paddle?
I would say the new Alecto Red from Pickln
@@TickleMyPickleball thank you. Checking 👍
@@GroovyTakeON it's the most powerful paddle option right now. I'm currently working on a review for it but I know Farmer Lanky already released his

great review as usual !
wait a sec .. where is the giveaway ?! :)
Nice review. Do you think you feel better after add weight?
Yup for sure, I think the paddle plays the best with tape
@@TickleMyPickleball where do you tape it? Im guessing throat and running it up but would love your input.
@@Caddy92680 I start at 10-2 and then go down. I don't add weight to the throat
@TickleMyPickleball what was your overall weight when dine? Stock mine weighs 8.4 so after tape I'm worried to heavy.
@Caddy92680 8.5 for me
I got to hit with the paddle for a bit, great power! I like this one slightly more than the Joolas

I'm not entirely sure unfortunately. The workers making 4 a day is only going to relate to the stock but the shipping is gonna depend on Spartus
What weight set up do you use on the Olympus?
Are you local to NOVA? That looks like the pickleball club in Tysons. Also I'm pretty sure I recognize Daniel in that clip lol
Yup I am haha, hence the discount code name
👏

How is the feel on the surface? Similar to DBD? Does it have more power/pop over the Engage Pursuit pro-1's?
Less pop than the 13mm engage. But more powerful. Feel isn't like a 16 gen 2, it's a unique feel to the olympus
@TickleMyPickleball What about compared to the Black Diamond power? It also has fiberglass in the carbon fiber.
I'm just wondering is there any give to the face since I know with the ajools once it starts breaking in you can push in the face quite a bit
Could you list down who uses what paddle in the video?

Appreciate it! I'll still talk louder for future videos, hope the most recent one was okay
Good idea and good stuff with the vid. People only come out to talk about the negatives but hey that’s life.
Olympus vs Ronbus pulsar FX R1?
Olympus is more powerful and poppy but the sweetspot on the fx1 is better
Rice cooker. Noice.
Im torn between this and the ronbus ripple :[
The ripple is pretty crazy, some insane pop and power and much harder to control

Is the spin as good as the paddletek bantam's? Or Apollo?
Yup I think it's similar to the Apollo
This or the J2k?
This
The current Coretek paddles are legal. I have the Olympus as well. Both are fantastic!!!
Why are you whispering? Can barely hear you.
Sorry about that, will try to fix that for future videos
