Erik I can see you are slowly becoming a Seikopath, for me Seiko is like a Heroin and I just need my dose of Seiko every year, currently own around 40 models. You need to get your hands on MM 600 with a spring drive!!
I am biased, I have 3 MM 😅 Sbdx012 Sla047 Sla023 So I tend to agree, it's the best diver period 😁 BTW I don't dive, but snorkle a lot as I live on a small island called Bali...
I'd say so! I've had 5 Marinemasters but 3 being Tunas. The MM300 is the one watch I truly missed after I sold it. As you may know, its just the feeling you get for a watch that sticks with you. Thanks so much for watching!
I am also biased! Got a great deal on a new 039, had to have it. Sent it to service because of running plus 14 sec a day. Ended up buying a 059, because I missed the other so much😂. They have a special charm to them. Have to hide the 059, so I wear other watches. Even like the bracelet on the 059. Got a great fit on it. To me, looks correct on the watch. Reminds me of the ti bracelet on my ti shogun.
Nice video, mine are all used for diving and would agree that there us nothing better, using other quality brands the seiko s are the ones I favor, after losing a citizen in year 1988,they also have strong thicker spring bars ,still no good snagging on a wreck dive in 40mtrs,poor visibility. Since never trusted a bracelet as they are probmatic at depths, hot and cold, trying to adjust over a drysuit, even with ratchet systems, so nato ,extra strong done tight ,looser at bottom, suit compression. The seiko bezel still works with sand and salt in them. Had a few fail, none seiko. Against a high end watch, just as good and not to bothered about marking up. My favourites Tuna sla042j1. S23635j1 And the sla047. Although the 047 gets worn daily. The black version is just fantastic, but for me I can polish out the marks on the steel one. Ceramic bezel on one of mine is desperately needing replacement sadly, plus the bezel to.
I got my SLA047 last week. Found an incredible deal on a new one. Took off bracelet, put on rubber strap ftom SLA075, and I now have the Perfect Diver for me! All my other Diver watches are silently crying now from the Ignoring which is sure to come! Great Review Sir!😊
My Marine Master 300m 8L35 on the timegrapher is always in COSC spec. It's a pleasure to wind. I tossed a Crafter Blue on my MM300 with the stock ratcheting clasp and love it. I love my Sub but... the Marinemaster 300m is special
Did the same with my first MM300 w/ crafter blue and original racheting clasp and loved it - probably one of my favorite watches ever. Thanks for watching.
Great review. Thanks. Really like that one mm300 you reviewed. Rolex? Maybe some day a vintage with patina❤. Have a sla 055, and 039. Unique, special watches for me. Been thinking about trading a dress watch for a sbga 231, or 463. Any thoughts on those 2? Thanks
Just bought one.... I got a smoking deal on a new model.... it's sublime. I have the Iromote island edition... it's absolutely the epitome of a dive watch. People like Rolex esthetics others like Seiko. I like Seiko... its a whole different feel. Absolutely perfect
I have this black sla035 for two years already and counting, the case still in mint condition, when it’s on the wrist you’ll know it’s different from other normal dive watches
Seiko MM300 is a tool watch! Rolex Sub = luxury watch. Its great to have Tudor Pelagos as another option besides Seiko Prospex proper tool watches. SLA057/55 is another good contender too. Especially with Ever-Brilliant steel
Oh l, I didn't apologize about Rolex as im a MM300 fan. I too love the movement as yes, it is a GS movement but unfortunately unregulated so the Rolex, in my experience is more accurate, more often. Thanks for watching!
Not sure if that's a serious video or you're trying to be sarcastic but as the owner of the SBDX001 which imo is the best MM300 in the lineup all I can say is that comparing SLA035 to a Rolex, any (even early Bond) Omega SMP300 or Tudor is laughable. I love my MM300 but come on. It was released in 2000 and they are still milking it, with zero improvements made in almost 25 years. Rolex, Omega and Tudor went long ways with their movements and this is still not certified, not antimagnetic, with random accuracy. Better diver cause it's cheaper than Rolex? Well, then SKX007 or a Turtle is even better cause it's ten times cheaper than the MM, sill ISO certified and plenty water resistant, plus they are disposable lol. Asking $3k in 2024 for a watch with accuracy of +15 -10 spd is absolutely insane. Not to mention that it comes on a rubber.
These comparisons are silly. You’re trying to compare a Toyota Tundra to a S-Class Mercedes. You’re losing credibility for this goofy comparison. Just review your Seiko and move on. It’s like beating a dead horse with you guys. That bezel turn sounds like it’s about to fall apart.
I feel like this video is irrelevant. A dive computer is the best “watch” for diving simple. Beyond that a cheap $100 watch also will do and is worn by many divers you don’t need an expensive one. Todays day and age were not using them as tools, they are things we enjoy. If you enjoy the seiko get the seiko. If you like the rolex get that. I’m sick of all these comparison videos they are different watches, buy what you like
I feel like this comment is irrelevant. You've just stated the blatantly obvious as though revealing some mystical hidden truth. We all know watches are mostly superfluous items these days, people clicking on a video like this are likely familiar with Rolex but unwilling or unable to splurge on one, but open to cheaper alternatives if the quality is there.
Tell that to the master watchmaker. Let me know what he or she says! Also, what happens when you're ontop of Mt everest or somewhere in the jungle or desert (middle of nowhere) without electricity? Or the dive computer fails while under hundreds of feet of ocean? Many diver's wear backup Seiko mm300s to make sure they're safe. When you're in harsh environments like I previously stated, having a tool like this could potentially save your life.
Bold words friend but I agree....The MM is a tank . It's a beast . So true about the fat seiko springbars....ALL dive watches should use them..
Thanks and thanks for watching!

Wow! Really enjoyed that review. I do love the way that bezel feels and sounds.
Thanks for watching!

That's a beautiful watch and dial! I keep returning to the MM300 and always will. Thanks for watching.

What's not to love on this one. Agree 100% on the bars...only Seiko does that
Couldn't agree more!

Love the SLA055! Thanks for the kind words. As far as SBGA is concerned - cant go wrong with any GS! Love Spring Drive. Thanks for watching.
Erik totally 💯 agree with your opinion on this outstanding Seiko diver 👍🏻
Yeah, definitely a MM fan! Thanks for watching!

Absolutley with ya there. Something about the MM's. Thanks for watching.

Love your take on this watch
Thanks for that and for watching.
I am happy owner of this same model 👊
Fantastic as nothing like it! Thanks for watching.
Why so much apologies towards Rolex? My MM movement is a 8L35, almost the GS 9S55.

@@erikkinginnycmy watch maker said all movements are regulated just not all certified.
Brilliant 👌🇬🇧
Thanks for that and thanks for watching. Much appreciated.

You need to watch Marshall Time’s comparison
Too much text at 6 otherwise 🔥 I was the OG sla with mono bloc hi beat
Bingo! Thanks for watching!
Better diver for sure but not a better watch.
beautiful but too damn heavy
I get it but for me like the weight.
1/2 A pound will always be 1/2 a pound.
Especially when you accidentally drop it on your foot at home.
😂

Seiko fans who think their watch is better than a Rolex are truly naive.

@@diego750 There are a dozen dive watches that are better quality and better price than a +$2000 Seiko……

It looks exactly the same. Actually every watchmaker has a watch which looks exactly the same, ie. absolutely hideous.
