I have a XL hybrid and I have to say I’m pleasantly surprised with the this little pickup. I paid about $22k out the door and I’m getting 41.5mpg average. I tell people as long as you don’t need to tow, it’s a great pickup.
@@EngineersHomestead Acceleration is okay if you need a little more kick opt out for the turbo . As for the car seats they fit well I have two cars seats in mine one of them is the big bulky car seat and the other is a booster seat .

Personally, I think they should’ve put in a awd for the hybrid before adding a tremor package. A lot of people buying this truck know the sacrifice of the maverick not being an off-roader. But a lot more people can use the awd function for a hybrid.
I have a FX4 with the tow package. Haven't towed anything yet but hit the dirt pretty hard last weekend. The only gripe would be that approach angle. The bumper and fascia took a little dimple but other than that it handled everything great. I got her sideways, dug in a bit, a few burnouts, through sand washes, hard pack and rocks! No rock crawling or anything but it's a pretty solid truck on any type of generic trail system! Stoked so far!
The reason the Tremor package only has a 2000 lb tow rating (near identical to the Bronco Sport), is that rear twin clutch AWD system. It was originally used in the Focus RS and can't handle the stress of towing anything near 4000 lbs. The weight from the vehicles themselves (compared to the Focus at least) already put a good amount of weight behind the system. The Bronco sport with this system is frankly amazing off-road for what it is and I'd expect this Tremor to be just as good, but unfortunately the towing capacity does suffer, and for those who need it will have to stick with the FX4.
Appreciate the explanation. I was wondering that. Really does suck. Cause I really want the lift and the front bumper, but would need the 4k towing capacity. Dang it Ford!!! Lol.

Same. I wanted the towing capacity and locking diff. Since that was not an option, I went with the FX4 with towing package and immediately put 255/65R17 Falken wild peak AT4’s on it. That gives an extra 0.75” ground clearance and has no rubbing at full lock, even with articulation.
Seeing how quickly they already have a Tremor trim level for the Maverick, I really hope they release a Maverick Raptor 😂 100% would buy one. I think the Maverick is a great truck/ vehicle for what it is made for!
I've had my FX4 for a few months and I love every single thing about it so far. I'm not going to do any crazy off roading but i've had it on some agressive gravel roads so far and it eats them up. Love it

I like everything about the Tremor except the towing and payload, I guess that fancy twin clutch diff can't handle 4k. I think the FX4 would be a better choice for my needs, but I'm glad to see Ford investing in the Maverick, the Tremor is a cool package.
This thing is looking better and better. That’s more ground clearance than a Ranger FX4 due to the independent rear suspension. It also has the same engine as my old Focus ST which makes me smile.
Personally, we all know this isn't an off-road monster like a raptor, bronco, jeep, zr2 etc. You get my point. I think the hybrid is the best option for even if you're overlanding. More miles before hitting gas stations when you're far from gas stations on off-road "trails". Let's face it, do you see this thing doing rock crawling or jumping it? I don't think so, so let's be realistic about it. AWD would be nice to have in the hybrid for a combination of hybrid and the AWD for snow on the road which is what most people would use that for.
If you go off-road, overland etc. You know how precious your fuel gauge can be and bringing extra gas to account for that but if it's great on fuel, means you have more room for other stuff instead of gas cans taking up space.
my one hold up with the maverick was that it didn't have the nicer AWD system that the bronco sport got. Too bad you can't get the tow package with it. that would be the perfect little truck for me.
Tremor all the way. Dual clutch diff lock works great. Off road oriented vehicles aren’t focused on towing, payload is slightly lower but not a deal breaker. Tremor all the way for me. I use my other vehicle for towing
Just bought my dads 2015 F150 fx4 with the 2.7, which I’m loving. Had that not been the case I’d jump on the maverick tremor. Hopefully it’s doesn’t take them 7 months to deliver like they’re currently taking with Super Duties. It seems capable of anything I need, the majority of what I’d like, and probably is easier to deal with in parking garages than full-sized trucks are.
Great level of detail! Makes me more interested in the Maverick (definitely Tremor with the differential control and higher clearance). If/when there is a plug-in hybrid Maverick with Pro Power Onboard, I'd be very interested in this smaller truck rather than the F-150 Lightning (which just went up in price some).

There are only two items on the tremor model I want over the FX-4. The redone front bumper and the rear locker. But I am not going to pay the extra couple of grand for those options. I still think the XLT FX-4 with the max tow package is the sweet spot. I do like the overall look of the Tremor package, but I am not willing to pay the price premium for it.
You know, these Mavericks are really cool tbh! Simple, affordable, usable and pretty capable given the fact it is a unibody construction! I wish the Tremor was able to tow 4k like the normal Maverick tho 😞
I think this is the one for me. The recent recalls about the hybrid definitely turned me off to them. Also I primarily do highway driving so I don't really benefit from the hybrid benefit. I also don't need to tow 4k pounds. I just want a nice compact truck that can get me to work and back while also being solid for camping.
@Jay A Makes sense, the hybrid hwy rating of 33 would be at slower speeds. This is a good example that as a road trip vehicle, buying the turbo AWD makes sense because the hwy mpg is similar but you get way more passing power and capability.
Funny how none of the reviewers I've seen talk about the fact that the orange highlight in the wheels indicates the location of the valve stem. Makes it just that little bit easier to see it and find it for airing down your tires, or airing back up in low light after a fun day of off roading. Nice touch Ford. I'd likely order this package but I need 4k towing.
It is a really good user friendly touch, honestly i feel like these types of details get overlooked too often, nobody every appreciates it, but they sure do complain when it's not there.
I wonder how many parts will be able to be transferred to my FX4. The locker would be great but first off I would really like to have that front bumper. For my current off-roading with this truck it handles it fine but I've already put a fat gouge in my front bumper that a better approach angle could have alleviated. Tremor looks great but as a current FX4 owner, I wouldn't take the risk to trade up with the current market.
Thanks Andre, great video, the very detailed walk-through video that I needed. I priced one out with my Ford dealer using the 2022 XLT base/option prices and we’re guessing $33k with the Tremor package and my options. No markups if I order one and wait for it. I plan on paved road driving the majority of the time but we have forest service roads we hit a couple times a year and we have family who live on dirt roads in deeper snow areas when winter hits. 2-6 inches of snow on the ground at times where we live and daily commute.
This is my problem i want a truck though im in the Army so i can get stationed anywhere Which makes me want to get a truck that can survive 2-6inches of snow. Aswell as good mpg cuz i drive everywhere and hate paying for gas lmao
These guys do a great job showing these mavericks I just got a maverick based of what they showed and they are pretty spot on I have a ford maverick hybrid I do wish it was an all wheel drive but I will I just took it camping and handled like a dream

@@RRr-yl8zr I'm talking about 2 different vehicles. The Ranger FX4 is much more capable off-road than the Maverick Tremor or any Subaru. The Ranger is also more capable at everything else than the Maverick except perhaps parallel parking or fitting in small garages. On the Ranger, the Tremor package is $4,200. Assuming it's the same, that puts a Maverick Tremor around $32,000, with no other options. The Ranger XLT FX4 with no options is around $38,000. I guess it's not super close, but it's close enough that if I bought a Maverick, every time I look at it, I'd wish I had the Ranger.
I think where these really shine is in the base 2wd hybrid. Hard to beat a small truck at civic prices. Another good seller would be if they made the hybrid in AWD as well.
I just got a fully decked out maverick tremor in all the trimmings. I’ve had every full-size pick up truck under the sun and I am loving this little tremor maverick. I hope they make a maverick raptor. I would be all in.
I have an FX4 XLT with towing package. I like the tremor but the towing is a bummer. I might just buy the front bumper, head and tail lights and switch those from the FX4 to the Tremor look.
I would not pay the premium for the Tremor package for the sole reason that you cannot get the 4K Tow package with that. Lets face it, these are not serious offroad machines (such as the Bronco or Jeep), so the FX4 package is going to be adequate for offroad purposes in 95% of the applicable scenarios AND you can also pull a 3,500 lb camper with you to a staging area. The main benefit of the Tremor, I believe, is the extra clearance, but I could add a 2" lift to the FX4 for less than $750 if I thought that extra one inch would matter enough to give up the gas mileage it will subtract. The addional calibrated modes are nice, but they probably won't save the day if you get in a situation where you need a Bronco and most folks probably wouldn't know when to apply them anyhow. Bottom line for me, is that the FX4 package with 4K Tow is a much more versatile vehicle.... I do really like the Tremor styling , but eh FX4 is nice too... just not as nice. Disclaimer: I own a 2022 Maverik with the XLT Luxury Package, FX4 and 4K trailer tow. Bought it for my wife... she loves it. I'll keep my F250 for what I use it for. LOL
I’d be very interested in seeing just how far the Tremor Maverick can be pushed. If it can handle the same terrains as the Bronco Sport, they’ll have a real winner on their hands but will probably see their Bronco Sport sales hurt a little bit.
Ford will sell every Bronco Sport they make at well over dealer MSRP. And every Maverick, too. I shed no tears for the dealers at this point. They suck.
I'd go with the Maverick Tremor Package. I travel to Maine and Upstate New York quite often. Canoes, gear and people would do well in the Tremor Package.

As much as I like the tremor, the fx4 probably fits my needs better. Don't really off road so the locker and approach angle wouldn't be utilized. So wish there was a manual transmission option.
@@RRr-yl8zr The extra inch would be nice. I'm hoping the Tremor suspension will bolt up to the FX4. While I'm on light trails and shallow water crossing, from time to time, I've never needed a rear locker. I feel I'd run into ground clearance issues before needing a rear locker.

"lots of problems" with their turbo engines NOW And they BS with the cheap Lifter securing clips failing and dropping the valves and destroying the engines on the new Broncos. (and other rides that use that engine?) A CONTINUING history of big problems and choices from FORD.
Next time you are in a sandy location like this one, bury the 4x4 vehicle down to the frame(spin the tires until it is stuck) and see if the 4WD management system will crawl out of the holes with no help from external sources. 😉
Maverick seems like a big hit for Ford. Finally had a chance to sit in one, and while it is comfortable, it's not for me personally. Can think of plenty of other reasons to like it though! Minus dealer markup of course...

@@kyle-ri5mz oh those are all over too. I think a lot of people didn't like what ford did to the escape, and so the more rugged look of the bronco sport helped there. Used to see previous gen escapes all over. I don't see all that many new escapes, despite owning one myself. Definitely more bronco sports running around
I shopped the Tremor and passed on it tonight. I like the truck. The Tremor package looks great and by all reports, performs great on and off road but it's limited to 2000 pound towing and suffers a fairly big fuel economy penalty compared to the FX4 but the biggest issue with the truck I looked at is the color. I just don't like Terrain and at $42000 Canadian I need to not despise the paint color.
Hey Andre, will you guys be doing a towing/ offroad performance comparison between the tremor and fx4? I am looking at a maverick for my next long term vehicle and wondering if I the better off road performance is worth sacrificing the towing capacity. I do a lot of hunting and fishing out west in fairly rugged areas, but may want to buy a boat or small trailer in the next 5-10 years. Also curious if stepping up to the tremor is worth it over going with something like a ranger or tacoma, since the price is becoming more comparable and there would presumably be some fuel efficiency lost.
Just curious the FX4 with the 4K tow comes with lower gearing if I'm correct, and the Tremor has the standard gearing. IMHO the FX4 is a better package for the money. Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this!
GFC makes a camper shell that fits the Maverick perfectly. Tremor all day over the FX4. For $40K, it’s a great, practical vehicle compared to say a GTI with about the same power. I do worry about the engine being direct injection only and not both direct and port injection. Carbon buildup over time is going to be an issue…but perhaps not if you are only doing a 48 month lease.
I put a lift and bigger ties on my XLT , 2022 price $28,500 ÷ $900 tires is still cheaper than the Tremor package , but if I had the option to order it again , I would probably get the Tremor package for the looks.
Also for the clutch system and diffs as well as transmission cooler and a few other stuff. When I built mine the way I wanted it came out to $34,600. But for that price it’s only about 2k less than a base bronco 2 door with a few options so not sure which one I’d go with. Very different vehicles I guess
Check out the uneven gap between the bumper and the fender at 4:15 - it is wider at the top and narrower at the bottom to the point they almost overlap. I saw the same sagging of the bumper on the Fiesta, so looks like a Ford's issue across the model range.
My order is an XLT off road package and is most likley going over to a 2023 so I will now add the Tremor package being I fish on the beach. Lots of soft sand! I am not a fan of the orange accent on the rims. I like the rims that you like. If I can't get an optional rim on my order I will most likley powder coat the ones I receive.

I'm 50/50 with the wheel accent. If it's to indicate where the valve is, just have a colored valve. Anyway, Chevy had a similar design element with the "Redline" package
Ford just can't seem to sell me this vehicle. The FX4 had everything I needed except the rear locking diff from the bronco. I held out for that and when they release the tremor they dropped the tow capacity to 2k which won't tow my side by side legally. I guess I will hold out longer and see if the FX4 ever gets the rear locking diff as a option.
I have the xlt fx4 and love it. Only thing I want to do to it is put a 1 inch lift someday. I have a 12 foot jon boat I put in the back with the tailgate down. Strap it in and it’s great.
He mentions the radiator and fluid reservoirs were relocated to accommodate the higher clearance bumper. I wonder how hard it'd be to order the brackets/mounts from Ford and move them to be able to install the newer bumper.
I got the XLT with the off-road package and the tow package. Would really love to get the tremor but not having a tow package is kind of crazy. It’s supposed to be like the top of the line tough off-road truck yet you can’t tow anything to where you’re going. I will read all the comments but I assume it’s because of that dual clutch rear end.
The Maverick reminds me of when the Chrysler PT Cruiser first came out. They were so popular the dealers were ripping people off and getting way over MSRP. Now, this too is popular. I do however think it a better vehicle and worth the MSRP. I can see once supply reaches demand the dealers will no longer be able to stick it to people. No car is worth paying more than MSRP. Inspite of most recent events, cars depreciate and will again very soon.
No car (or most anything) is worth paying MSRP for. Just a "bogus" High number so the dealers can Act like they are not ripping you off or are giving you a "good deal" 😅
I like how Ford is making steps further and have manual selectors to close the center and rear clutches, something what Honda should have done with their ivtm4 in Pilot Trailsport
Impressive! Price is right. Off roading would have to rated easy (it's not a Jeep Gladiator). I would have to get the Tremor. Tough decision. I can get a base line Jeep Gladiator Willis for around $41,000 vrs the Tremor for around $31,000.
TFL, please compare skid plates between the two. Ford specifies steel skids for the Tremor, but just says skids for the FX4. Are they the same or are the latter plastic or aluminum?
I'm gonna pick up a hybrid Maverick XLT whenever there back on dealer lots. The Tremor is basically the Raptor version of the Maverick. This truck is meant to be cost efficient so I don't see them making anymore offroad versions. I think their next focus will be on the 2023 Ranger. I would want a Ranger hybrid but I'm not sure if this will be coming out and what the price would be.
I have the XLT FX4 with the Falken Wildpeaks, its a fantastic little truck. Bit of road noise with the tires but you get used to it. I am getting nowhere near the 20mpg rating for city driving though, averaging around 17 mpg.
My 2018 f150 xlt super crew gets 17 mpg. That's awful. My 2022 Mav lariat fx4 was cancelled and waiting to order new one but if what you are saying is true. I may keep my f150. I'm buying a Mav for better mileage

2023 tremor $2900 + $1495 for the appearance package ($4395) 2024 the tremor appearance package is gone, and you just get it when you get the tremor package (3,495), but, the mirrors are black, and the roof is the same color as the body (source, I have and own a 2024).

The choice is a tough one. The reduced towing on the Tremor is a real bummer. You can tow a car with FX, but not with the Tremor. I like the lift and approach / departure on the Tremor, but the towing is possible deal breaker. :-(

Did rough pricing at my Ford dealer and came up with $33k’ish for the XLT with the Tremor package added and other options I wanted. I’m good with that.

I think the towing restriction has more to do with the limits on the radiator with the front redesign.

Long term? It's a modern car. It'll fail around 120-180k miles, and up until that point be "super" reliable, and deliver good mpg.

Just bought the 2024 Tremor XLT, The ride alone is worth the upgrade. Very smooth off and on road. Only wish is you could get the 4K tow package.

my one hold up with the maverick was that it didn't have the nicer AWD system that the bronco sport got. Too bad you can't get the tow package with it. that would be the perfect little truck for me.
Tremor all the way. Dual clutch diff lock works great. Off road oriented vehicles aren’t focused on towing, payload is slightly lower but not a deal breaker. Tremor all the way for me. I use my other vehicle for towing
Just bought my dads 2015 F150 fx4 with the 2.7, which I’m loving. Had that not been the case I’d jump on the maverick tremor. Hopefully it’s doesn’t take them 7 months to deliver like they’re currently taking with Super Duties.
It seems capable of anything I need, the majority of what I’d like, and probably is easier to deal with in parking garages than full-sized trucks are.
Great level of detail! Makes me more interested in the Maverick (definitely Tremor with the differential control and higher clearance). If/when there is a plug-in hybrid Maverick with Pro Power Onboard, I'd be very interested in this smaller truck rather than the F-150 Lightning (which just went up in price some).
It's coming, along with a FULL ELECTRIC version as well, the Maverick is selling like hotcakes.

There are only two items on the tremor model I want over the FX-4. The redone front bumper and the rear locker. But I am not going to pay the extra couple of grand for those options. I still think the XLT FX-4 with the max tow package is the sweet spot. I do like the overall look of the Tremor package, but I am not willing to pay the price premium for it.
I priced out an FX4 and Tremor. The price difference was so little so I went with Tremor.
I like everything that they're doing with the Maverick, including the pricing of the different trim levels
You know, these Mavericks are really cool tbh! Simple, affordable, usable and pretty capable given the fact it is a unibody construction! I wish the Tremor was able to tow 4k like the normal Maverick tho 😞
I think this is the one for me. The recent recalls about the hybrid definitely turned me off to them. Also I primarily do highway driving so I don't really benefit from the hybrid benefit.
I also don't need to tow 4k pounds. I just want a nice compact truck that can get me to work and back while also being solid for camping.

@Jay A Makes sense, the hybrid hwy rating of 33 would be at slower speeds. This is a good example that as a road trip vehicle, buying the turbo AWD makes sense because the hwy mpg is similar but you get way more passing power and capability.
I'm honestly really liking the tremor maverick. I currently drive a 2014 f150, gas guzzler but love it and its almost paid off, but this is tempting.
It's a shame the Tremor package cuts towing in half, but that seems to be par for the course on a lot of the off-roaders.
Funny how none of the reviewers I've seen talk about the fact that the orange highlight in the wheels indicates the location of the valve stem. Makes it just that little bit easier to see it and find it for airing down your tires, or airing back up in low light after a fun day of off roading. Nice touch Ford. I'd likely order this package but I need 4k towing.
It is a really good user friendly touch, honestly i feel like these types of details get overlooked too often, nobody every appreciates it, but they sure do complain when it's not there.

I wonder how many parts will be able to be transferred to my FX4. The locker would be great but first off I would really like to have that front bumper. For my current off-roading with this truck it handles it fine but I've already put a fat gouge in my front bumper that a better approach angle could have alleviated. Tremor looks great but as a current FX4 owner, I wouldn't take the risk to trade up with the current market.
Thanks Andre, great video, the very detailed walk-through video that I needed. I priced one out with my Ford dealer using the 2022 XLT base/option prices and we’re guessing $33k with the Tremor package and my options. No markups if I order one and wait for it. I plan on paved road driving the majority of the time but we have forest service roads we hit a couple times a year and we have family who live on dirt roads in deeper snow areas when winter hits. 2-6 inches of snow on the ground at times where we live and daily commute.
This is my problem i want a truck though im in the Army so i can get stationed anywhere Which makes me want to get a truck that can survive 2-6inches of snow. Aswell as good mpg cuz i drive everywhere and hate paying for gas lmao

These guys do a great job showing these mavericks I just got a maverick based of what they showed and they are pretty spot on I have a ford maverick hybrid I do wish it was an all wheel drive but I will I just took it camping and handled like a dream

Unless you just really want the smallest pickup you can get, the Ranger FX4 seems like a much better buy than Maverick Tremor.

@@RRr-yl8zr I'm talking about 2 different vehicles. The Ranger FX4 is much more capable off-road than the Maverick Tremor or any Subaru. The Ranger is also more capable at everything else than the Maverick except perhaps parallel parking or fitting in small garages. On the Ranger, the Tremor package is $4,200. Assuming it's the same, that puts a Maverick Tremor around $32,000, with no other options. The Ranger XLT FX4 with no options is around $38,000. I guess it's not super close, but it's close enough that if I bought a Maverick, every time I look at it, I'd wish I had the Ranger.
I think where these really shine is in the base 2wd hybrid. Hard to beat a small truck at civic prices. Another good seller would be if they made the hybrid in AWD as well.
It's not a truck, and it's not small (the bed is though)... And it's not cheap with modern bideninflation.

I just got a fully decked out maverick tremor in all the trimmings. I’ve had every full-size pick up truck under the sun and I am loving this little tremor maverick. I hope they make a maverick raptor. I would be all in.
I have an FX4 XLT with towing package. I like the tremor but the towing is a bummer. I might just buy the front bumper, head and tail lights and switch those from the FX4 to the Tremor look.

The only issue with the Tremor is if the price is over 40 grand you just could buy a more capable truck.
It will start around 33k I think, which is already bumping against the bottom range of the big bronco and wrangler unlimited.
The way I built mine came out to around 34.5k and that’s with the co pilot 360, and xlt convince pack plus bed lighting option as well
I would not pay the premium for the Tremor package for the sole reason that you cannot get the 4K Tow package with that. Lets face it, these are not serious offroad machines (such as the Bronco or Jeep), so the FX4 package is going to be adequate for offroad purposes in 95% of the applicable scenarios AND you can also pull a 3,500 lb camper with you to a staging area. The main benefit of the Tremor, I believe, is the extra clearance, but I could add a 2" lift to the FX4 for less than $750 if I thought that extra one inch would matter enough to give up the gas mileage it will subtract. The addional calibrated modes are nice, but they probably won't save the day if you get in a situation where you need a Bronco and most folks probably wouldn't know when to apply them anyhow.
Bottom line for me, is that the FX4 package with 4K Tow is a much more versatile vehicle.... I do really like the Tremor styling , but eh FX4 is nice too... just not as nice.
Disclaimer: I own a 2022 Maverik with the XLT Luxury Package, FX4 and 4K trailer tow. Bought it for my wife... she loves it. I'll keep my F250 for what I use it for. LOL
I’d be very interested in seeing just how far the Tremor Maverick can be pushed. If it can handle the same terrains as the Bronco Sport, they’ll have a real winner on their hands but will probably see their Bronco Sport sales hurt a little bit.
Ford will sell every Bronco Sport they make at well over dealer MSRP. And every Maverick, too.
I shed no tears for the dealers at this point. They suck.

I'd go with the Maverick Tremor Package. I travel to Maine and Upstate New York quite often. Canoes, gear and people would do well in the Tremor Package.

As much as I like the tremor, the fx4 probably fits my needs better. Don't really off road so the locker and approach angle wouldn't be utilized. So wish there was a manual transmission option.

@@RRr-yl8zr The extra inch would be nice. I'm hoping the Tremor suspension will bolt up to the FX4. While I'm on light trails and shallow water crossing, from time to time, I've never needed a rear locker. I feel I'd run into ground clearance issues before needing a rear locker.

Maverick seems like a big hit for Ford. Finally had a chance to sit in one, and while it is comfortable, it's not for me personally. Can think of plenty of other reasons to like it though! Minus dealer markup of course...

@@kyle-ri5mz oh those are all over too. I think a lot of people didn't like what ford did to the escape, and so the more rugged look of the bronco sport helped there. Used to see previous gen escapes all over. I don't see all that many new escapes, despite owning one myself. Definitely more bronco sports running around

I shopped the Tremor and passed on it tonight. I like the truck. The Tremor package looks great and by all reports, performs great on and off road but it's limited to 2000 pound towing and suffers a fairly big fuel economy penalty compared to the FX4 but the biggest issue with the truck I looked at is the color. I just don't like Terrain and at $42000 Canadian I need to not despise the paint color.
Hey Andre, will you guys be doing a towing/ offroad performance comparison between the tremor and fx4? I am looking at a maverick for my next long term vehicle and wondering if I the better off road performance is worth sacrificing the towing capacity. I do a lot of hunting and fishing out west in fairly rugged areas, but may want to buy a boat or small trailer in the next 5-10 years. Also curious if stepping up to the tremor is worth it over going with something like a ranger or tacoma, since the price is becoming more comparable and there would presumably be some fuel efficiency lost.
Just curious the FX4 with the 4K tow comes with lower gearing if I'm correct, and the Tremor has the standard gearing. IMHO the FX4 is a better package for the money. Please correct me if I'm wrong on any of this!
If you want to TOW AND NOT go off roading/"4x4 ing" it is. if you want to go "4x4"ing instead of towing stuff... It looks like the tremor Is Better.
The L in the shifter is not for low gearing I heard
GFC makes a camper shell that fits the Maverick perfectly. Tremor all day over the FX4. For $40K, it’s a great, practical vehicle compared to say a GTI with about the same power. I do worry about the engine being direct injection only and not both direct and port injection. Carbon buildup over time is going to be an issue…but perhaps not if you are only doing a 48 month lease.
I put a lift and bigger ties on my XLT , 2022 price $28,500 ÷ $900 tires is still cheaper than the Tremor package , but if I had the option to order it again , I would probably get the Tremor package for the looks.
Also for the clutch system and diffs as well as transmission cooler and a few other stuff. When I built mine the way I wanted it came out to $34,600. But for that price it’s only about 2k less than a base bronco 2 door with a few options so not sure which one I’d go with. Very different vehicles I guess
Check out the uneven gap between the bumper and the fender at 4:15 - it is wider at the top and narrower at the bottom to the point they almost overlap. I saw the same sagging of the bumper on the Fiesta, so looks like a Ford's issue across the model range.
Maverick is a money maker for Ford.
My order is an XLT off road package and is most likley going over to a 2023 so I will now add the Tremor package being I fish on the beach. Lots of soft sand! I am not a fan of the orange accent on the rims. I like the rims that you like. If I can't get an optional rim on my order I will most likley powder coat the ones I receive.

I'm 50/50 with the wheel accent. If it's to indicate where the valve is, just have a colored valve. Anyway, Chevy had a similar design element with the "Redline" package
A lariat fx4 with tremor front bumper lower valance would make the fx4 a better option because of the towing.
I feel like what I need is the fx4 with the 4K tow package but buy a tremor bumper and modify the front end a bit to improve the approach angle.
I think you will have to swap the radiator and more if it's even possible.

There are in-coil airbags you can get to help beef the rear suspension back up, to get the payload back to 1500.

Ford just can't seem to sell me this vehicle. The FX4 had everything I needed except the rear locking diff from the bronco. I held out for that and when they release the tremor they dropped the tow capacity to 2k which won't tow my side by side legally. I guess I will hold out longer and see if the FX4 ever gets the rear locking diff as a option.
I have the xlt fx4 and love it. Only thing I want to do to it is put a 1 inch lift someday. I have a 12 foot jon boat I put in the back with the tailgate down. Strap it in and it’s great.
makes me wonder if you cant just drop that lower front black plastic bumper on the FX4 and replace with the Tremor lower plastic piece.
He mentions the radiator and fluid reservoirs were relocated to accommodate the higher clearance bumper. I wonder how hard it'd be to order the brackets/mounts from Ford and move them to be able to install the newer bumper.
I got the XLT with the off-road package and the tow package. Would really love to get the tremor but not having a tow package is kind of crazy. It’s supposed to be like the top of the line tough off-road truck yet you can’t tow anything to where you’re going. I will read all the comments but I assume it’s because of that dual clutch rear end.

The Maverick reminds me of when the Chrysler PT Cruiser first came out. They were so popular the dealers were ripping people off and getting way over MSRP. Now, this too is popular. I do however think it a better vehicle and worth the MSRP. I can see once supply reaches demand the dealers will no longer be able to stick it to people. No car is worth paying more than MSRP. Inspite of most recent events, cars depreciate and will again very soon.
No car (or most anything) is worth paying MSRP for. Just a "bogus" High number so the dealers can Act like they are not ripping you off or are giving you a "good deal" 😅
Anything special for the hybrid version, 40mph sounds really nice, actually like a Ford Fiesta just in a truck.
I like how Ford is making steps further and have manual selectors to close the center and rear clutches, something what Honda should have done with their ivtm4 in Pilot Trailsport

TFL, please compare skid plates between the two. Ford specifies steel skids for the Tremor, but just says skids for the FX4. Are they the same or are the latter plastic or aluminum?
I have the 2022 Ford Maverick XLT FX4, and i really like the truck. I would be cool to see a Ford Raptor Maverick! I'd definitely buy it.

I'm gonna pick up a hybrid Maverick XLT whenever there back on dealer lots. The Tremor is basically the Raptor version of the Maverick. This truck is meant to be cost efficient so I don't see them making anymore offroad versions. I think their next focus will be on the 2023 Ranger. I would want a Ranger hybrid but I'm not sure if this will be coming out and what the price would be.

I have the XLT FX4 with the Falken Wildpeaks, its a fantastic little truck. Bit of road noise with the tires but you get used to it. I am getting nowhere near the 20mpg rating for city driving though, averaging around 17 mpg.
My 2018 f150 xlt super crew gets 17 mpg. That's awful. My 2022 Mav lariat fx4 was cancelled and waiting to order new one but if what you are saying is true. I may keep my f150. I'm buying a Mav for better mileage

2023 tremor $2900 + $1495 for the appearance package ($4395)
2024 the tremor appearance package is gone, and you just get it when you get the tremor package (3,495), but, the mirrors are black, and the roof is the same color as the body

The choice is a tough one. The reduced towing on the Tremor is a real bummer. You can tow a car with FX, but not with the Tremor. I like the lift and approach / departure on the Tremor, but the towing is possible deal breaker. :-(

Pretty sure the current price increases that are on the Maverick b&p are gonna be the price increase for 2023 model year. Which would make the tremor lariat only $34-35k and XLT tremor $30-31k.
Did rough pricing at my Ford dealer and came up with $33k’ish for the XLT with the Tremor package added and other options I wanted. I’m good with that.
