Please listen to this. I have a few narcissists in my family that like to lecture. Not a two minute lecture. An hour or more lecture, describing how they're right and you're wrong.
My father once lectured me on and off for six hours, while I was sitting in his lap. I was about 5 years old.
My very narcissistic uncle lectured and berated my aunt every day for 60 years. He couldn't even make small talk without expanding on some topic and telling you why the weather outside is not actually nice today. This sh!t could go on for hours.

it's miserable !!! and dare you to ever cut them off or interject and defend yourself you are seen as selfish and impossible to communicate with... infuriating

My ex narc asked me at least once a day "penny for your thoughts?" At first I thought it was because he cared about my feelings, but eventually realised he wanted to manipulate my thoughts and live inside my head. It creeped me out.

Thank you Professor Vaknin for this important information. I saved it for watching again and again because the information is so important for avoiding having one’s mind altered by the narcissist. And they are not being malicious, they are just being themselves.
It’s downright scary behavior that every Narcissist performs without any planning. Destroying their target is just what they do. Like Scorpions. They are just being themselves, nothing more, nothing less. Holy Cow. 😮

It is the saddest to see that his own children are perceived as a threat and there isn’t a thing they can do to change that

Sam, this has been priceless for clarification on my current cognitive understanding on this matter. It’s incredible. As a step mother whom is in the thick of -undoing the parental alienation that unknowingly was the target. 5 years of ignorance has ended with the last 3 years being in the underbelly of what this disorder is and devastating consequences are . My husband of 17 years is for the first time sharing , recalling his experiences that I was oblivious of what his ex wife subjected him to. Can you possibly do a video on the element layer of the ripple affect of how a unknowingly target whom has not met nor conversed with the NP can be a target and can infiltrate in another’s life without detection. My daughter whom was mirroring the bio mother whom strategically and masterfully took a very strong foundation relationship that I once had with my daughter and turned it into a pile of rubble.

I assume that that's what a person with narcissistic behavior has experienced as a child towards him-/herself and than has adapted and internalized in his/hers helplessness and vulnerability as a child not being protected.💔

Tzohorayim tovim, Professor, and thank you for another highly informative video. I had a question about this kind of speech: does it also extend to other “disorganized” personality types (with narcissistic overlay)? In the case of, for example, the Borderline who is also speechifying, hectoring, tangential, rambling and ranting, in a pseudo-communicative monologue. Thank you 🙏

Oh yes, this was very clear. I thought he was very well read, and knew so much. I found out it was all plageriaism. Bits and pieces from books, movies etc.

This is not being presented as all original - existing theories are referred to (Austin) applied to narcissism through the lens of SV.

What can you do about the narcissist hikacking your mind? (No matter the method). You made a video about it (colonized act)? Especially when your sense of self is being undermined.
I feel like another entity is imitating my own thought processes to slowly bend them to their will. I do not even know if this is written by myself to be honest. It resonates, but i dont know if it is authentic. If it wasn't how can i get help when even this is just a tactic?
