This is cool. So: "if you want to race a mustang there are several different ways to go". My way, buy a old "A" sedan mustang race car with boss 302 engine 35 yrs ago. Shell was terrible, 2 mustangs welded together. Scrapped all sheet metal and kept the parts. Fast forward 35 yrs... Bought a rusty 68 coup then bought a nice ASA stock car chassis. Now going to put those together along with a refreshed boss 302. Then I'll go find a race to join. Probably be in NASA.
Id love to see more of this car!!
This is exactly what I have been wanting to do for years with my old 65 coupe sitting in the garage in disassembled form.
I'd love to see this car with 180° headers and Nascar boom tubes, it would an audible riot.
I bought a 65 coupe roller for 400 bucks. Plan on building it for nasa American iron class

Will be following this build. Can you run bloated induction and or TBI in HSR class racing?
Budget build starts with 20k roller... How about a 3k roller and junkyard parts?
You can start with a fastback Mustang for $20K, or a '65 Ford falcon for $2K. call Hollman Moody for the upgrades...
This should be really good 👍.
Glad you like this. We are going to have some fun with this one.
What's the update? How close to racing?
For the latest update on our project Mustang check out our build thread: grassrootsmotorsports.com/project-cars/1965-mustang-fastback/
Is it fia approved?

The cover pic is not a 67 Mustang.
