I would have loved to hear Brandon and Michael's conversation after this interview! intelligent, talented, humble guys, being asked stupid shit! But they low key embarrassed his ass!!! YAY B AND M!!😘😘😘😘
Despite the interviewer, I liked the way Mike and Brandon answered the questions related to greedy. They were authentic, they weren't sending two-sided messages!
@Senshine He's not full of himself. If you've ever read interviews with him, he was super excited to go to Harvard -- he's just really proud of being part of that. It's something he never got to experience in all that time he spent touring and writing music. Also, veritas is Latin for truth, which is an important concept in a lot of Incubus' lyrics. I don't see any problem with having the emblem on some of their equipment.
Am I the only person who's watching this as a TechCrunch viewer, rather than an Incubus fan? Keen is always like this as an interviewer, that's why his interviews are so interesting - he presses people, something that most other interviewers are too afraid to do.
Well... It's been four years. I think it's safe to say yes, you are the only TechCrunch viewer watching. Keen didn't really "press" any topics. His questions got mocked because of his lack of engagement. He couldn't get an ounce of passion out of either interviewee. It's a bad interview and I'm afraid he's got to be held responsible.
"These aren't you'r typical rockstars they're intelligent" see @Rubbers99 he's not just rich and connected he's legitimately one of the best musicians of our time, as is INCUBUS as a whole. All world class musicians, no doubt about it
I think it was a misunderstanding between Mike and the interviewer and brandon caught on and tried to cool it down, Mike caught on eventually and eased up but in the end they shook hands.
That older lady just picked up and left the room..I think she had no idea who Incubus was, or the boys in the band..And just wasn't interested in what they had to say.. Also I could see Mike was a little ticked off with the question of them riding in a limouisine as a rock band...Mike was annoyed for sure, and Brandon moved in to keeping it cool...I think Mike can be a little feisty when he wants to..He may be short in size, but don't underestimate the man..I was once told the saying; "The bigger they are the harder they fall"....So watch out for the shorter people!
You only need to look at the way the interviewer is afraid to look Mike in the eye as he asks the rude and unprofessional questions that he does to know what he's all about. This isn't journalistic courage - it's just a condescending attitude that says "I don't care about what you have to say." I read TechCrunch quite regularly, along with CNET, TechRadar and Engadget and I've got to say, the quality of journalism in this particular area is appalling for the most part.
Members of Incubus always give well thought out responses to questions, it's a shame that this interviewer is so aggressive, it's as if he wants to instigate an argument and undermine his interviewees when he could have done some research and engaged in a grounded discussion. Brandon did a great interview for KROQ recently, Mike gives great interviews too...might has to make a playlist of good Incubus interviews for any fans who are interested.
@rubbers99 HAHAHA good one...he got into Harvard Music School because he's one of the greatest musicians alive. Do your homework, pick up a guitar and study, then you'll understand why Mike got into Harvard and why is he arguably on of the greatest guitarist of all time
At 5:41, why does Mike look so annoyed at the beginning half of the question about spending money? The interviewer doesn't even mention limousines before Mike looks like he's fuming.
Jubach maybe something happened before the interview because you can see Mike is already sweating then he turns progressively red during the interview and you can even see Brandon whispering something to Mike like he’s trying to ask Mike to calm Down, Brandon was just laughing it off
while I do think the interviewer is annoying, I did like some of the questions he asked, especially the whole part about their album leaking. I would recommend it on a playlist like that.
@chaosinorderrr yep, really. for the past 2 yrs that ive seen them in concert, mike's had the word 'veritas', harvard's motto, taped to the drumsets. then i just saw in the new adolescents music video, it's written on the amps in huge letters - check it out! whats more crazy is mike's twitter page, where he lists himself as 'harvard university student, musician, golfer'. notice the order. it makes me truly dislike him... and i went to an ivy league too. its such a shame, hes full of himself.
Probably the most idiotic questions I have ever heard an interviewer ask a band. Take a bow dude. You win for being transposed to a music interview when your real gig was at a Holiday Inn handing out coffee and muffins to 3rd rate RE agents.
im sorry but im tired of listening to "Mikey went to Harvard" all day. with the harvard 'veritas' emblem all over the drums, multiple mentions of it all over interviews... talk about self-promotion. i love incubus, but come on.

Mike Einziger is my favourite person ever.
Mike & Brandon are so chill. Thats why they are my favorite band. They are all around amazing
Despite the interviewer, I liked the way Mike and Brandon answered the questions related to greedy.

Mann I'd be turning red in the face if I were them. This is why I look up to these guys.
LOL 0:29 next level ducking maneuver

That guy who walked in the camera view and noticed it at 0:30 was hilarious
Man, you can tell that Mike is deeply annoyed!
I love how Mike puts down the interviewer.."you don't know that we ride in limousines-Mike..now your stereotyping.. lol
"These guys need no introduction, even though I know fuck all about them as you will see"
I think it was a misunderstanding between Mike and the interviewer and brandon caught on and tried to cool it down, Mike caught on eventually and eased up but in the end they shook hands.
if Incubus suddenly stopped making music=end of the world
How nice can you be Brandon...your livelihood is stolen and you in turn feel love:) sweetness:)
ohhhhhh...i love you so much brandon..mmmwah!
Who is this interviewer? Their budget auditor? Wow. Mikey and Brandon, you have style and grace, that guy is a dink and you guys are awesome sauces!
That older lady just picked up and left the room..I think she had no idea who Incubus was, or the boys in the band..And just wasn't interested in what they had to say.. D D short people tend to be short tempered, especially the men!

@Senshine really? they got the emblem on the drums? O_o
I wonder what Mike and Brandon were thinking at 05:46.
They were like tf?
.

This interviewer thinks he can outsmart Brandon and Mikey, what a fail attempt at that.
I love how he doesn't meet that fella's eyes.
mike looks and sounds pissed at the guy at 6:08. dont blame him though he was being very smug about rockstars riding in limousines
The interviewer on the subject of Twitter: "Are they able to listen to more than 140 characters now?" What does that even mean?!!!
What you're describing is what's commonly referred to as a terrible, terrible attempt at a joke.
6:21 damn straight your asking for trouble mate

@Musicfan4evr LOL he's a ninja *quick dodge!
while I do think the interviewer is annoying, I did like some of the questions he asked, especially the whole part about their album leaking. I would recommend it on a playlist like that.
incubus they just do it to the people to listens and hu buy the records
@Senshine haha wow that's a little extreme i guess. doesn't make me like their music any less though.
Oh Brando its an Aquarius thing. You feeling "dirty" about selling your self / advertising. I feel a certain way when I use snapchat filters.
*Brandon

Radio slacker
You can just tell Brandon and Mikey are thinking "this guy's a douche"
The interviewer is fine, just being tough with the guys.
@rubbers99 I guess it's an opinion...but a well educated one if anything. Obviously you are not a guitar player, you're just an angry elf
im sorry but im tired of listening to "Mikey went to Harvard" all day. with the harvard 'veritas' emblem all over the drums, multiple mentions of it all over interviews... talk about self-promotion. i love incubus, but come on.
This interviewer is pretty annoying.
Actually makes me ashamed to be English ... sorry guys! :-/
Interviewer is curt and bored.
