i paid $140 for my hair and they did dip it in water but I guess the water wasn’t hot enough so I’m going to do it again myself! Thank you all for the tips🫶🏽
Yes the water needs to be boiling hot. And not just the ends, go up as far up the braid as you can carefully. It will relax the braids and they’ll hang prettier and less frizz also.
gurl u was ripped off
wdym 140- naaaah it looks nice but this is way too much

A few tips for the braids
1) Use moose if they get frizzy
2) wrap them at night.
3) After few weeks, you can wash them just the roots and then dry.

After a few weeks. I could never wait that long lol

I like the way you embrace both sides of your culture. Never feel ashamed of who you are. You are beautiful. Keep educating your friends so they continue to respect you for who you are. That's the beauty of being multicultural. I love your videos.

Well culture is real, but the human races identity isn’t found in culture ,or anything else. That’s something I realizing when I encountered JESUS CHRIST and HIM being LORD and SAVIOR over my whole life. Know that Jesus loves you, your identity is in who HE has made you to be, you’re loved and cared for and that you have purpose.🤝😊

It looks nice! You should dip the ends in boiling water to make them lock in.

First shock when I saw it. The braider isn't a professional or is just lazy
Guys: she’s okay with her *FRIENDS* touching her braids without asking. She’s not okay with a *TEACHER* touching her hair without asking. Stop saying “don’t let them touch blah blah blah” it’s not going to kill her, it won’t damage the hair- the students and her friends are just curious and that’s okay. The adult should’ve asked before grabbing.

If you sweat, it can goes down your braids. The extensions can collect dust, dead skin, etc. You should be washing the braids too, not just your scalp. It's common sense.
You don’t just wash the scalp, you wash the whole braids because you’re sweating and there's stuff in the air. I wash my knotless braids every 2 weeks.

You say, ‘I am rich; I have acquired wealth and do not need a thing.’ But you do not realize that you are wretched, pitiful, poor, blind and naked. I counsel you to buy from me gold refined in the fire, so you can become rich; and white clothes to wear, so you can cover your shameful nakedness; and salve to put on your eyes, so you can see. (Revelation 3:15-18) you cannot live for this world and not try to stop sinning (being cold) and only believing in God(hot) without turning from sin or sinning and saying God will forgive you after or not read the Bible, pray, worship/obeying God. Hey here’s a tip when getting braids (make sure to dip the ends in super hot water so that they aren’t so stiff) but it’s totally up to you
well thats really just so the ends can seal and if u want to curl it you can !
Dipping the ends doesn't make them less stiff, her braider just braids tight (not in terms of scalp tightness, but the braids themselves.) which is why they're so stiff. Dipping them doe what Zoe said.
@@Mariamasmy braider braids the exact same! But once we dip them in hot water they loosen up. Maybe it depends on the hair? But in most people experiences hot water looses them up.
@@aphroditeangels8107yeah once i dip them in hot water for a bit it’s really nice and not as stiff anymore but here are very stiff

We don't like other races especially whites touching our hair.
It is a negative history behind it in America
During slavery and Jim Crow White's use to touch Black's hair for good luck and making racial jokes.
Even now, people look at Black's our hair like we are aliens or something
Always wanting to touch our hair like we are some kind of experiment

That they only one who should be touchyour hair is your mom and the hairdresser
Mom's was right, worked at a day care kids hands are not clean, all in each other's hair.
And kids had ringworms in the hair, face and etc.
I kinda felt protective over you when they started asking so many questions and grabbing, bc I’ve had very similar experiences, but I’m glad everyone was mostly respectful and nice about it. But yes you can wash your hair like normal, after you wash and towel dry, get a foaming moose and lay down your braids and put a silk scarf on. Also dip your ends in hot water so they’re not as stiff you can also curl them if you’d like too!
yea it kinda irked me how they kept touching her hair lol
bubbliie_ari it’s natural tendency for a human to reach out and touch what is unusual in their society. If you go to Ethiopia or kenya, they do the same to Asians and white people. Hair gets touched, played with, gets asked to take pictures ,., and etc
@@Fartsquad_ I mean I wouldn’t want to be touched like a petting zoo no matter where I am. It’s not hard to ask to touch people’s hair and be respectful. As long as you asks and have consent it’s whatever. However, no one should touch you without your consent, idc how curious you are.
@@Fartsquad_That doesn’t make it okay. She has the right to put them in their place and let them know she’s uncomfortable.
@@Fartsquad_When I lived in small town in Mexico I had braids. I received a lot of attention and compliments but the only people who ever touched my hair were my Mexican family I lived with. She was cool with friends touching her and great. But the male teacher wasn’t a friend and she was uncomfortable. It seems natural to me to consider the nature of the relationship in how you address and act towards someone. In many languages there are different ways of speaking to someone based on familiarity, age and so on.
Less than $150 for braids are SO CHEAP I’m happy for you ❤

@@mutelarsorhougbe4606yes this is the main reason I want to teach myself to braid
as a black girl living in the uk, paying $150 is CRAZYY. here girls pay around $40-100 depending on how experienced the hairstylist is and the hairstyle
@@peji636it used to be like that in the USA but that was back in the early 2000s probably to about 2015. Since then prices have sky rocketed. Some braids are $600 to $1,000 now and plus a deposit fee
Here in Nigeria if you have 5 dollar you will do braiding
For people who want to know...4A to 4C hair (known as ''Black'' people's hair) is usually prone to dryness. It doesn't get as greasy as straight hair does (of course there are exceptions since we're all different). Once a week to twice a month is usually fine for washing (unless you sweat a lot). However, the mistake that most people with 4A to 4C hair make is not hydrating/moisturizing the hair. Washing the hair with shampoo can cause damage over time, but watering it every day is actually good. Our hair pretty much acts like a plant. It needs water and sunlight😌.

Hi my african-korean Queen, you just felt a need for your African part that's all, and you are that person too. I don't have any advice for the hair, but I think you'll get some from those who often wear this hairstyle. you are courageous and you participate in appeasing others by making them discover your other you.😍😍😍
Hey thanks for the video! A tip is to always keep your scalp moisturized and also after washing your scalp you can allow it to air dry.
The knotless braids look good on you. I hope we get to see more of you rocking Afro-protective hairstyles 😊.
Making sure your scalp is kept clean and moisturized is the best way for them to last longer and look good.
When you wrap it at night, I’ll deffo recommend using a silk scarf. That shit be having my braids looking fresh for a MINUTE 👏🏿👏🏿
The reason why Afro hair will not smell as fast and easily is Sebum.
Sebum in general is a fat like material that all hairtypes are forming and building.
When this fat like material is build up enough trough not intervening or not washing your hair, the hair will become greasy and that fatty circumstance of the hair can lead to dirt building up quicker which ends up in smelling.
But the amount of Sebum building up solely depends on the hair type while hairtypes from 1a to like 3a will get easier greasy and therefore also smelly, it’s totally different almost the opposite with hairtypes from 3b to 4c.
With those hairtypes Sebum builds up really slowly to almost none which is the reason why this hair will get really dry instead of greasy.
And a side effect of almost no grease in the hair can lead to less dirt building up and therefore less or no smell.
To my Afro hair sisters, if someone asked why and if it will smell, Sebum can be totally the answer why our hair will not smell or at least has totally different circumstances then straighter hair.
I'm white and didn't know this, I knew that black hair was much different than mine but I never knew exactly how other than people describing to me that it's more coily.
Lowkey kind of jealous, my hair gets completely greasy after like 3 days.
How do you guys deal with the dryness and do you need to take braids out to address it? And also, does it still not get greasy even when people touch it often or when it's humid outside?
I i have type 2 hair but some people say that you need at least wash it every 2 weeks? I wouldnt know though
She’s absolutely adorable, a beautiful girl.
Your hair looks beautiful ❤ and you got them for $150!! 😱😱😱 My advice is:
1. Keep your wash day schedule-sometimes people assume “protective style” means they’re off the hook for taking care of their hair underneath, which is false. I normally wash my hair every 2 weeks so I kept that schedule whenever I have a protective style. Keep the scalp moisturized with leave-in conditioner, oils, etc. (braid spray is a good one, too!)
2. Like everyone else was saying, dip the braids in boiling hot water so they’ll loosen up and lay flat.
3. Don’t leave them in too long! The max I’ll do for a protective style is 12 weeks. There will be a lot of shedding when you take them out (the hair you would normally shed daily can’t shed for a while, lol)-just be patient and gentle when you take them out.
4. Rock them unapologetically. Our hair has the magic/juice, so it’s normal for people to be shook by it 🤪🙌🏽
Use a silk scarf or pillowcase that's very good for your hair even when you don't have braids. The color on you is fab just make sure to not keep them in too long.
they’re so beautiful! you really suit this hairstyle 🤍
Box braids and knotless braids are ultimately the same thing, only difference being the way the braids start. With knotless box braids you feed the hair extensions into your hair and regular box braids you begin the braid with the hair extensions at the root. As for care, the only thing I do is make sure I sleep with a satin bonnet or satin scarf to cut down on frizziness. I don't normally wear my braids for more than a month though. Unless you are are touching up the braids (meaning taking down and rebraiding them) it may be hard to keep the braids in for more than a month without them looking old and messy, especially if you're hair grows fast. Hope this helps!
They look so pretty on you compliments your features very well ❤ tip when you have had them for a while and its near the time to take them out a great way to style is throwing them into a bun or maybe two french braids i also like doing waterfall braids sometimes, fishtail braids or two low ponytails with nice scrunchies while leaving two braids in the front. You can also cornrow a section in the front from ear to ear so it looks like a braided diadem. These are some of the things i like to do around that time. There are many tutorials on how to style knottless/boxbraids on yt, I also like getting inspiration on pinterest or tumblr. Experiment and do the ones that compliment you the most and make you feel as pretty you are :) Playing with you hair like this is actually very fun i always feel grounded and relaxed after 🌸
