One of those rare movies where you can only experience it through Teddy's perspective the first time you watch it. Any subsequent viewing will be through Dr Lester's perspective. Such a brilliant movie.

I love all the small little details and hints we got throughout this movie that you pick up on in second rewatch. The fact that the guards who were supposed to be searching for the missing patient all appeared to be bored and uninterested and are not searching. The chains in the boat at the beginning of the movie. The strange looks everyone gives Teddy/Andrew. Ben Kingsley was perfect in this film, what we took as a sinister attitude of hiding something was actually his frustration and patience wearing thin that his treatment for Teddy still isn't working, and he makes it translate over really well. By the end of the film we actually felt bad that we suspected him because we can see he really did care about his patients.

We see a sketchy, evil mental hospital with its gothic architecture on a dark island and we instantly assume there's something bad happening here because that's what Teddy thinks in his mind. And then at the end we realize that none of that was true, the Mental hospital is actually a well renowned and well funded hospital with good doctors.

It’s all over the place
Leo's acting as always on fleek🔥
Fleek? God forbid this random word becomes a thing
@@razorramoneljefe5956 a more detailed explanation is: top notch acting performance as expected
Jesus Christ . Fleek? Fucken internet ruined everythjng
@@Trollnation_ okay there “Troll Nation”
@@Trollnation_ Troll Nation on fleek
One heck of a mind fuck. Brilliant movie.
He didn’t believe a word until asked if he would deny his child too. Powerful.
Showed this movie to my buddy and the whole last 10 minutes his eyes were as wide as they would stretch.
What kind of doctors do this to their patients?!
The kind that has run out of options.
I bet most people go back and watch this movie again after the first viewing. It is a "two-view" movie to fill in the blanks and notice things you missed the first time. So sad but an amazing movie.
This film is a masterpiece. An incredibly sad and heartbreaking story. DiCaprio’s finest performance.
He played very good in the Great Gatsby too 👏
This plot twist blown me for idk how long. Brilliant scene.
I remember seeing this movie when it first came out and it tripped me the fk out and even to this day it still does
Possibly the best thriller movie ever made.
It's one of those movies that you have to watch a couple times to fully understand. One of the best movies of all time!
I remember watching it . Was he crazy or not ?? 🤔
@@rosee7256He was.
@@areyounatz so his the one who killed his family ?? Sorry for the questions , I haven’t watched it in a while & when I did I was so confused 🤔😂
Thank you so much for bleeping out the curse words. That was remarkably necessary
You could not have saved them is the most damning answer to unanswered question.😊
unfortunately, just like the sixth sense this movie gave away the ending way too early.
We're all adults here. Quit beeping out the 'bad words'.
This movie is phenomenal.
One of my favorite movies of all time, I don’t understand why it wasn’t more successful.
Y'all can't fool me I know Teddy is real I know. Once he gets to the mainland the lid is gonna blow off I watched it a second time just now and it gave me chills lol
Was half expecting Leonardo DiCaprio to turn into the Hulk.
That would be Mark Ruffalo
“I told you not to come in here. This would be the end of you.”
Amazing!
If you think this movie was better than inception, welcome to the club 🍷
Inception is massively overrated
Yess finally someone said it. Inception honestly bored me a bit
I was mind blown when this twist was introduced! My God! I remember I couldn't sleep!
It would’ve been an even bigger plot twist if it turned out they actually were lying and they just wanted him to think he was crazy
I still refuse this ending
Excellent movie, love the fact that the end still keeps you hanging
The truth hurts dosen't it Andrew. Oh sure maybe not as much as jumping on a bicycle with its seat missing but it hurts.
Ted Daniels and Chuck a.k.a Jack Dawson and Bruce Banner
This film blew the lid of writing. I walked out of that theatre even weeks later asking questions.
We are all on shutter island
Me trying to gaslight my buddies into thinking they’ve gone crazy.
I went to cinema without knowing nothing about this movie. Such a great experience.
This is one of those masterful movies that not many people have seen. It was my favorite Scorcese Dicaprio films. But only second to The Aviator.
Two of the best actors of modern times
Most of the folks who watched this initially thought it was a Chris Nolan Film...🙂
I hate this scene, they didn't need to spell it out so strongly, give the audience a bit of credit
Ive watched this a few times and I always believe he’s the detective
This movie has 2 plot twists.
One of it is insane.
One of the best acting displays in cinema hx. Better than many oscar winning movies, special recent ones
One of the greatest and most wtf twists of all time
This scene is just so sad... It's such a brilliant movie ....
That turned dark
Heartbreaking that some people's minds are tormented like this...
Whatever this is not fair.
This man was not even crazy but his wife in the first place .
She killed his children then after finding it out he killed her then now he has ended up in psychiatric.
Pfff
He was but it isint until the end he sees the truth and accepts it, he wants to kill the monster he is
Women.
@@tannerfishalow4894 I said in the first place he wasn't until he saw the killing of his children from his wife .
He wasn't crazy in the first place then one day he got insane for what his wife had done to his children.
This is why he is in hospital and he had totally forgotten about it until this episode .
@@Komyeta Jajajaja yes I believe it too
I don’t think you understand what crazy is. Leo’s character can’t see reality, and he constantly is reminded of the tragic nightmare when he killed his wife who also killed his three children. The point of this therapy was for him to break that cycle of torment and accept what happened.
